It is worth noting that once you release Tur Ragepaw you can choose in what role you want him to assist you. You can ask him to tank, dps or heal and he assumes the related druid form (f.ex bear for tanking, tree for healing) for the duration of the fight.

Makes the quest really fun and the group composition somewhat more flexible than most of the quests.

I chose feral for the helper and without a healer, he died fairly early on in the fight. Good thing I added a tank at the last minute so me and the DK were able to finish him off but the DK died at the very end.

I'd recommend just 1 good dps and one healer and then pick the helper to be the feral tank. That way you can easily do it with just the 2 of you.

Can't wait to try this quest out, just something new and unique sounding about it. As a paladin tank, i'll be asking him to either heal or DPS. 200k hp is nothing these days, even though i'm unsure of exactly what i'll be up against.

Solo'd this as a 74 shadow priest using the NPC as a healer. I actually ran out of mana with 20% health on the boss and died because I wasted mana trying to kill the adds at first and was shielding too much because I didn't trust the NPC to heal me enough. When I got back to my corpse the NPC was alive and heal-taking the boss still. I got on the aggro list before the NPC died and finished off the boss by myself.

He's easily soloable as a shadow priest with the healer NPC without dying though. Just make sure you keep DP/VT/SWP/VE up, make sure inner fire stays up, and avoid shielding too much. When the adds spawn, run away from them and let them hit the NPC instead.

I solo'd him as a 73 moonkin with the NPC tanking. Throw on whatever regen gear you have, stay in caster and heal the NPC while keeping insect swarm up. Had to use a mana pot and innervate, took about 5 minutes to take him down without a problem.

Be sure not to spend too much mana dpsing or you may let the NPC die during one of the stuns.

To add to previous comment, Tur Ragepaw's healing form is excellent.
I went to try it as a protection warrior, and I never once went below 75% health. Tur ended up with 50% mana after Ursoc was dead.

A noteworthy observation is that Ursoc gives (at least for me at 77) 12772 experience upon his death, potentially making the quest a nice way to gather some experience in an easy way.

I have finished Eyes Above. i am currently honored with warsong offensive and lvl 74. I cannot for the life of me find the chain to reach this quest. Like i stated before i completed Eyes Above and Windseer didn't have any other quests to give me. please let me know what I'm missing.

Soloed as a holy priest with the druid as a bear. Took about 7 and a half minutes but it wasn't that difficult. I just let the bear damage tank and I stuck to 100% healing. I used my cooldowns early so I could use them multiple times during the fight.

This is an awsome quest! Me, a 74 druid, dps specced and geared tanked Ursoc with the npc as a healer. It ended up with me with 300 hp left and ursoc dead. Close call but damn it was fun.

Solo'd as a 75 BM Hunter with my trusty Gorilladin and 2pt5 bonus, as said Tur's healing form is really, really good. The few times my gorilla dropped low (due to stun / add combination) Tur would almost instantly get him back up.

Solo'd it as a level 77 feral druid in tanking gear. The NPC is an incredible healer, and I can confirm that you can simply walk up and use the dust on a tapped corpse to get the completion as a group of 5 came in right after I downed him and did it.

Just to note, since I haven't seen anyone say this yet, there are annoying slimes that spawn occasionally and do a really annoying explosion and debuff. Not too threatening, but nobody else said it so I figured I would.

Note that you DO NOT NEED TO KILL URSOC to complete this quest if Ursoc's corpse has not despawned, at least as of this posting.

I was in a group to do this quest, and, upon getting there first, saw the corpse of Ursoc that some other group had killed. I targeted it and used the quest item and completed the quest without having to fight.

I did, of course, stick around and help the rest of my group, who, on their crappy ground mounts, were not able to get to the corpse fast enough.

p.s. This is one of the only available DPS rare plate legs that can easily be obtained...not perfect...but very nice.

Very easy. Do all Quest from "Windseer grayhorn" Then you will be able for this one, I 2-manned it whit one 80 pally, and me 74 warrior. You get helps from a NPC to. You can find him in Ursoc's Den. Talk to the Npc, Go and kill him. Then use the Item on his boddy, Then its complited. Not so big deal.

Soloed easily as a level 77 Feral Druid, finished with max health.

The NPC actually makes a half decent healer (I would have died without doubt without him) although he only seems to know life bloom. He will stack it up to x3 on you, and about 10-15 secs after it has expired he will do it again.

If you are Feral attempting this - go with bear gear/form or you will just take too much damage in cat.

Ironically, solo'd this as a holy pally with the druid npc healing. Tried letting the npc tank before and I couldn't DPS and heal at the same time without running oom. Moral of the story: tree form is OP and delicious!

Soloed this as a lvl 80 affliction lock with the npc in tree form.
Ursoc may have craploads of health points but he hits like a critter on a voidwalker.It's pretty much just slow and steady from 100%-0%.

Something to note, if you do not start attacking soon enough then Tur will despawn and not be able to help you during the fight.

The group I went with started the event and the Warlock in the group wanted us to wait, I'm guessing she thought we were supposed to wait for some back and forth between the two other than the summoning, and Tur despawned and we had to try to take Ursoc on ourselves to no avail.

Solo'd pretty easily as a 76 bear form feral druid in Northrend blues mostly. Had the NPC go tree and he had about half his mana left when Ursoc went down. Didn't bother trying to dodge the slimes or use any consumables at all, never got below 80% health.

Solo'd as a 76 mostly resto druid. It was incredibly easy. I just had him tank and did nothing but heal till the last 50k or so. It's slow, but I ended with full mana and health. I obviously could have DPS'd more throughout, but I didn't want to risk it.
I used zero pots and didn't innervate.

My gear is mostly leftover S4 and some PvE blues from LK.

Just soloed as a 77 affli/demon lock 22/46/0 build. Had the npc as healer, smacked up Siphon Life, Corruption and Curse of Agony, and Demonic Empowerment on void. Repeat when it runs out or cd is done.

Went well, just takes some time.
Got 18,7k xp with rested from him. :P

As others have said, Tur's healing form is really good. I think that any plate (or mail) wearing melee DPS will have no problems soloing Ursoc, as long as you choose the healer option from Tur.

I did this on my DK, and Tur never let my health drop down too much. I used death strike a couple times just in case, but he was healing for 5-6k HP each time.

pretty ez quest and good reward. 2 blue items some rep and good gold. Soloed as a 77 prot pally just set the furbolg guy to heal and tanked and dpsed ursoc and a few minutes later i got the kill. took a minute cause he has 212k hp but i got it regardless

I just soloed this as a level 80 fire mage. I had a rough time, but I used Tur Ragepaw as a healer and just went to town. I died once durring the fight, and then ran back. I didn't even heal when I got back, I just went right back to fighting so Tur wouldn't die. If he dies....you're screwed. So, if you're dps and wear cloth, there is hope of soloing this quest =)

With the npc helper healing it could be soloed by a prot pally. I used seal of light and just burned him down (was 75 so I did have shield slam and divine plea when low on mana). Overall though both of us went oom with 5k left on the bear (b4 I used divine plea). Shouldn't be too bad.

Well, I'm a Horde player, and did the quest the easiest way. I just went in after a 5man party of allies, waited till they kill the bear, then use ashes on corpse. Was fun, and yes, this means you dont need to kill him, you only need his corpse.

Solo'd as a DPS Frost DK. Well, I used the Druid as a healer, so... is it solo? Whatever.
Solo'd as a DPS Frost DK. Just make the Druid go as a healer, go into Frost Pres, put on any tank gear you have, all that good stuff. It took about a minute to about two minutes. I never went below 70% health with the NPC healing. I used Icebound Fort, a pot, Rune Tap, Lichborne, and Unbreakable Armor. I know not every DK has those, but just saying. I didn't have to use Lichborne or Unbreakable Armor to win, just made it easier.
I didn't check the NPC's mana when we killed Ursoc.
Ursoc gave me 24250 XP when I killed him. (12125 of it was rested)
So be sure to try to be rested when you kill him, 'cuz that was pretty great. Then add the quest XP for the turn in (31450 XP).

Soloable with a tank class, in tank gear, and the NPC as a healer.

I just checked this on my hunter and Tur Ragepaw also heals your pet.

A lot of quests ignore the fact that us hunters have pets and are often not compatible, but this one is!

I tried solo'ing this as a 75 hunter dressed in instance/quest blues but I couldn't dps fast enough before the druid went out of mana.

I had mend pet up the entire time so the druid had an easy time healing but it didn't matter.

I tried to solo this as a fresh 80 frost mage. With Tur's healing form, I got him to 50% or so before dying. When I resurrected after the corpse run, Tur was still self-healing away, heal-tanking Ursoc.

Soloed it as a 77 Death Knight. 0/31/rest spec. Not too hard. I choose the healer option, went in frost presence with tank gear on and used Death Strike whenever cooldown was off. Barely had to use it that much even, as the healer is pretty good.

I solo'd this as lvl 76 ret pally. Some words of advice:

- Tur Ragepaw is a great healer. I nuked him with seal of blood from 100-0% while he was healing me. The only problem with it is that he runs out of mana eventually, I just really had to push my DPS. The armor ignore debuff from the boss really hurts!

- Don't forget to use the purified ashes on the corpse afterwards to complete the quest! I forgot about this twice, don't ask me how.

- Even if you die and is using the Tur Ragepaw healer version, don't give up.. You can corpserun and he will probably still be fighting him. I don't know if it's a bug, but even when he was OOM he was alive when I came back to collect my corse.

That's all I can say really.. Might take a few tries if soloing but it's definately possible! (Took me like 8:P)

Easy on a prot warrior. Take Rage as a healer. His heals are quite powerfull so you can put on dps gear so that you actually kill the bear before Rage goes oom.

Soloed as a level 76 Unholy DK. Just let your ghoul dps the boss, pick the healer form, and tank him in Frost Presence. With my tank gear on I have about 40% pure mitigation and 55% damage reduction from armor, so I finished with his mana relatively high. The only hard part is the stuns, which keep you from dodging and parrying his attacks, but you shouldn't have too much trouble receiving heals through that.

One of the easiest 3 man quests in the game, with a healer NPC (and a druid healer at that) it's pathetically easy. Only thing I don't like is it doesn't give Timbermaw rep, which is annoying considering that getting enough rep to get the achievement this late in game requires killing millions of the stupid Deadwood Furbolg.

Tur seemed to be going oom incredibly fast in his healing form when I was doing this quest today. Previously i've soloed it on my DK and shadowpriest easily, but on my ret paladin Tur is consistently going oom after about 2 minutes of combat. Anyone else noticed this? Downvote if not, I might just be bad.

Here's one for the feral druids as well. Since I read that you got a partner that can heal as well as a retri paladin being able to solo it, I figured I'd try it out.

Completed it without much sweat. The aiding NPC didn't have much mana left, about 10%, but no matter obviously. There's nothing really to the fight other than going into bear form, pumping up lacerates, and doing mangles and mauls whenever. Keep up FFF and Demoralizing Roar. I used Enrage and Berserk at the same time midway through, but I doubt it will be up again even if you use it early. The fight is considerably "long", as already mentioned though, will take 2 minutes or maybe more.

I might add also that I do have several T6 epics as well as some random TBC epics like ZA staff and some badge rewards. So it's not full green, but I'm experiencing more and more that the blues are starting to become very equivalent in quality. Just a little sidenote. (Obviously the stuff is gemmed and enchanted as well, but I've been to lazy to change it to stuff that benefits after the months old revamp of the druids... yeah, I've had a break hehe.)

My holy priest selected the bear, and yes, it was a long fight, but no problem...

...until I opened my bags for the ashes, and then click on the wrong bear, then click on the correct bear (dead one) and just as I click on the ashes that darn corpse disappeared! It apparently only lasts for 5 seconds or so.

So, I kill all the little bears again, mana up, select the tank again, but this time I put the ahses on my task bar for a quick use.

There are some alliance (I am horde) around, and I do the whole thing all over again.

And just as I try to click on the ashes, I get that darn debuff that stuns me, after the sun I try it again and in the muddle, the debuff kicked in and I was stunned again!

I saw the bear start to disappear as I was stunned, but then the alilance guy apparently click on his ashes and I also got credit for the quest.

Good thing too, because doing the same quest two times is bad enough!

Oh, I also don't have any special "T" armor (I don't pvp), but my mana pool is 10k with 440 regen and the "regen while casting" talents are maxed. I also did not waste time shielding myslf (waste of mana), but when the add-on blew up, I just cast a "Binding Heal" against both of us.

Total fight time, about 3.5-4 mins.

Soloed as a 75 Lock, demo spec. Had Ragepaw be a hearler. Not as much need to health funnel but don't forget to DPS as Ragepaw only has so much mana. I suggest VW and poping demonic empowerment as much as possible to keep your threat down.

Just solo'd as a 79 Shadow Priest, definately wasn't easy, used the druid as a healer, but ended up running out of mana and dying when he was on 1%. Went back and tried again same tactics, but used a pot, wizard oil and food, this time got him, still ran out of mana but the druids heals are fine. So I would suggest if you are going to solo as a DPS class to use the druid as a healer.

In case anyone didnt mention this, he gives alot of exp (10-11k) if you solo him. Me, as a feral druid, did him over and over again (i was rested, so i got ~22-24k exp each kill) and used this to get some easy exp. after i got 200k exp just from killing him, i got bored and finished it. But its worth to kill him a few times before you complete the quest :)
Btw, i had the NPC to heal me, so it was easy

Had the same happen to me. No one was around so I wanted to solo the guy, or at least see if I could. I died with Ursoc at about 20k health. Started to run back, tabbed out to look at wowhead, got lost running back (I've never done Grizzly by foot, always flying), finally make my way back and the tree is still there punching Ursoc.

Soloed as 79 disc priest. Took a while, but was easy enough. I obviously had the NPC tank in bear form, and just simply kept healing him. Used my shadowfiend, but no need for pots as my mana regen was decent enough despite still having plenty of lvl 70 PMC/ZA/badge gear.

I just have to say that I HATE this quest. Tried to solo as 77 warrior, got him to 1% three times with the NPC as healer. Fourth time a friendly ally helped me but I died 0,01 sec before Ursoc, but when I had finally gone from the graveyard back to the place where mine and Ursoc's corpses were, Ursoc's corpse dispawned just exactly at the same time as I ressurected. Almost made me shed tears :'(

Anyway, tomorrow I'll get my 80 friend to help me.

Just thought I'd mention this because I haven't seen it in the thread. Just did this as an 80 hunter, but it'd be easy for any hunter. The druid (in healing form) will quite helpfully and thoroughly heal your pet for as long as necessary. So you get free heals and free tanking, leaving you to dps Ursoc at any speed you choose.

Solo'ed it on my Disc Priest (73), I chose to have him in tank form and it wasn't too bad...He holds aggro fine and you can do a little side dps with your dots...though it is a drawn out fight

Just time your heals inbetween stuns (constant renew and Penance is great for this) and use your cooldowns to crit heal for the Divine Aegis...Tur can handle the rest...

solod this as 76 unholy dk. put on frost presence and had npc druid heal me in tree form. got almost 12k xp for the kill and was able to do it again. if you want to get alot of xp from something easy do this over and over again. took about 3 minutes to kill the bear. KEEP IN MIND! if you turn in the quest to conquest hold, you CANNOT go kill ursoc again. i wish i hadnt turned it in, i wouldve went back and killed him over and over again until i leveled :-X

I don't know why but this is pretty much impossible to solo as a Survival hunter. Our pets are too weak and can't hold agro as it is, and kiting this guy is pretty much impossible because of that #$%^ing periodic stun the dot puts on you. Healer couldn't keep my pet up beyond 30 seconds and then it was just a matter of time before I got wrecked while in a stun.

I can see a BM hunter not having any problem though.

Just solo'd it as a lvl 73 warrior tank.
It was a tough fight since he does have a load of HP and im not build to do damage.

The NPC did heal pretty good, but i had him on a low amount of mana when URSOC was around 20% healt (still around 40k hp) so i died. I went back to try it again, but i noticed the druid was still fighting him, so i went back in the fight, with a bandage, and finished the job.

Dont mind the little adds, they have little hp and the druid handles them.

Fun quest, even better rewards. espaccially for a tank :D

Sorta solo'd as a 77 enh shammy today, small write up on how it went down:

As is said a dozen times so far, use the druid to heal, he goes down way to fast as a tank and is nearly completely useless as DPS.

Before the druid summoned the mob I threw out Wrath of Air, Mana Spring, and Stoneskin (this can be substituted with Strength of Earth at any point). After he summons the mob threw out the fire totem and laid into him.

The NPC is a great healer, and will heal the elemental, when the elemental goes down you can bring out searing or magma to handle the add's.

Because of our nature this fight will be long, and unless you're wasting time to heal him, the NPC will die at some point. When this happens bring out wolves, throw up bloodlust/heroism, and rage. This is the burn down time, because if you've played your cards right he's got about 25-30% of his HP left. Hopefully if WF is proc'ing and you use your MW's at the right time you can tear through him before the wolves run out. If the wolves do run out cease using MW for anything but heals, use any potions you have and just try to DPS him into the ground.

Just did 'solo' as a 74 elf paladin. Gears mostly Season 1 I got a long time ago, a few heroic blues(like 1-3), so decently geared I guess you could say. Anyways a few quick tips. I seen someone mention they solo'd it as a ret, but they left out what I feel were a few important things.

First off, BoW him! You can buff Tur to your heart's content, so dont be afraid to help out his, as you can see from these comments, quickly drained mana pool.

Second, dont judge Light, judge Wisdom! Again, keeping Tur with a nice amount of mana is more important than the heals you'll get from JoL. Whenever Tur wasnt healing me, between heals he'd slap Ursoc upside the head a few times. Im not sure if he needs to be in melee range for him to do it (He was on mine), but either way, pull him close to him just in case.

Lastly, keep Consecrate down. I never had a mana problem once, even spamming my skills. I was well over 90% mana basically the entire fight. This'll help pull any stray adds off Tur and avoid the debuff. If you see one spawned, try to Divine Storm it, or even Hammer/CS it. If you happen to get the debuff, dont be stingy, dispell! And I dont mean just yourself, Tur also! The less damage your both taking, the less he'll have to heal, and the less mana he has to use, as opposed to your nearly limitless mana pool.

Edit* Forgot to add, personally I went with Seal of Corruption(Sorry I dont remember what the alliance one was called ;<). Was originally going to go with SoC instead of Blood, but figured having a constantly ticking DoT on him (With the bonus of DD at full stacks) would be better than the ppm of SoC. In case you didnt know, Blood and its alliance counterpart deal damage to you (Upwards of 1k to me on a crit) and probably isnt the best choice in my opinion when trying to deal with taking as little damage as possible. :)

Im hoping this strategy can help all paladins without having to do a corpse run, and not just the people in PvP/epics. Though obviously, I have no way of testing just how effective thisll be to one in greens and maybe blues. :( As far as Cooldowns go, I used 'none' untill about 5% when I decided to bubble since Tur was stunned and I was low health with an add up. x_x I was an idiot and forgot about them before that point. I don't know about anyone else but this ending left me a little confused. It seemed like there should have been more but it just abruptly ended with no explanation. You didn't even get to resolve the fighting amongst the furbolgs. Great quest chain but it was a little open ended and anticlimactic.

If you got dual specc, as me. And you're a Druid, and got resto as secondary/primary specc, put him to tank and heal him. Very easy.. Hot him, even the stuns don't matter. 3 stacks of LB and restack when they are over, and repeat it and its done.

Does anyone know if you get credit for this if you let the NPC do all the damage? I solo'd as a holy priest, I was in Spirit of Redemption when the bear went down, I got back and since I couldn't loot the corpse I assumed I didn't get credit for killing it. I didn't realize you had to click something in your bags... Anyway that's the tough way to do it, had to use a mana pot and Shadowfiend to down him, and as I mentioned I got to my bandages a little late.

Soloed as a 76 blood Death Knight, gear mostly blues, using the weapon reward from the Amphitheater of Anguish. Easy solo for a DK, which goes without saying. Druid is an awesome healer, I only once dipped to about 55% health and he boosted me back to 100% right away. Just takes a while to wear down his HP, but he's not that hard to kill for death knights.

After soloing as several different classes/specs already addressed in this thread, I attempted it on a prot paladin, and noticed that there was no mention of the difficulty level for any spec other than ret. So, for paladin tanks who don't have time to find a group, here's the quick and dirty:

Level 76, 16.7k hp, 17k armor, 483 def (mostly instance drops and instance quest reward gear); ret aura, seal of wisdom & BoSanc; standard 6/9 tanking rotation. I found that these numbers are definitely not a minimum, don't be afraid to give it a shot with less of anything. I brought Tur Ragepaw along as a tree, and threw a BoW on him for good measure - also not necessary. I judged light every rotation, and with DP up (specced), I ended the fight at around 98% health and mana - never dropped below 90% of either, and Tur ended the fight with around 50% mana left to spare. Throwing a RF up beforehand helps keep the adds from stunning him and allowing your health to drop to the point of having to bubble, as most of them move right through your consecrate to get to him.

For anyone attempting to solo this at a lower level or in average greens, I'd recommend swapping ret aura for dev, SoWis for SoCorr, and BoSanc for kings (in which case you may have to have a mana potion handy) - Tur will have an easier time healing you, and you'll make up for lost aura damage by stacking seals, so the fight won't drag so long that he goes OOM.

All in all, definitely nothing to be afraid of for prot paladins here. Happy hunting.

a nasty DOT during the fight needs to get cleansed ASAP.
npc ran out of mana near the end, but even with lay on hands on cooldown i was able to bubble to get 1 heal off before taking bubble off to get ursoc off the npc because he dies fast. i imagine with lay on hands this fight wouldve been easier, o well.

Did this as a fresh 80 Boomkin using the druid to heal.

When Ursoc was close to 30%, I died because the healer druid ran out of mana. Fortunately, just before he had died, I threw an innervate on him. I released, walked back, and to my pleasant surprise, realized that the druid was tank/healing Ursoc. A few short rotations later, I completed the quest. : )

Protip: Don't skin Ursoc before Cleansing his corpse. I learned the hard way.

Don't make the stupid mistake I just did, and skin him before you use the Purified Ashes of Voldrassil on his corpse -.-

Though since I could pretty easily solo him as a lvl 77 retri paladin with the furbolg as a healer, and I got over 13k xp when I killed him, I don't complain much for having to kill him twice.

Soloed as level 74 enh shammy. Yeah, I kind of cheated my way out.

I asked Tur to be a healer and attacked Ursoc. I used Bloodlust, wolves, shamanistic rage and fire elemental totem at the beginning and Tur healed me really well. But then the small adds would come that would put a debuff on me and Tur that will stun or something like that, so I died. However, I ran back as quickly as possible, ressed (Tur was still alive thank god), used my earth elemental totem and soon my wolves were ready again.

well, to those who are quick to skin any beast with a hide... DON'T SKIN THE BEAR! I had to kill the bear twice after zealously ripping the first skin off the first time and getting that "oh s@#%" feeling right as the skinning bar finished and I realized what I'd just done. :(

Well, dunno if this was stated before but... if your a skinner.... need before greed.... meaning use the item q before skinning Ursoc... take it from my experience as I'm omw to do it again >.<

BTW, Healer form is the way to go if your a enhancement shaman... not very easy, surely you will push a lot of buttons, but doable enough.

As a lvl 74 feral druid it was very easy to solo. Take the NPC as a healer, and he will keep you alive without any problems. He did run out of mana about 2/3 of the fight, so I just tossed my innervate on him, and all was fine.

You can solo this if you're a tank, at least that what I did (tankadin). Told Tur to heal and went at it w/ Ursoc; took probably like 5 minutes but it worked. I imagine you can do the same if you're a healer and tell him to tank; you might want to throw in some damage if you can afford the mana.

I tried to solo as a 75 BM hunter, it was working great, I had him healing my pet. I got Ursoc down to 59k health before my pet finally died, I used Heart of the Phoenix, my pet attacked Ursoc, I did feign death, and tur dissapeared for some reason, so my pet died shortly after coming back to life. Going to try it again and see how it goes this time.

2nd attempt - pet died, then i misdirected to my pet after i got him back up, ursoc stayed on Tur, because he's a retarded healer who keeps attacking Ursoc for no reason.

3rd attempt - he suddenly stopped healing my pet, even though he had nearly full mana, my pet died almost instantly.

4th attempt - he sort of stopped healing my pet, this time he thought it would be cool to wait for my pet to get 1% health before he started casting heals, of course - my pet died again.

5th attempt - i'm about to kill Tur.

This wasn't easy, but is soloable for a pure dps class at 80.

On my mage, I combined my pvp gear for stamina and pve gear for dps and choose Tur to heal.

tried to let him tank and nuke but wasnt fast enough... But he's an excellent healer, so you best of choosing his tree form.

Soloed today as a 75 ret pally.

It was a very easy fight. Gave Tur Blessing of Wisdom and had him heal me. It was roughly a 3 minute fight but never had any problems with health. Used Avenging Wrath twice, and outside of spamming justices, crusader strike and exorsim, no real specials used.

Just be careful. Keep checking his mana. If you don't burn him down fast enough you will need to start using some CD's to stay alive. I have already seen quite a few horror stories about Tur running out of mana and stopped healing.

Solo'd as a 73 DK. I chose the NPC as healer, used a blood tanking spec, and put on 1/2 dps and 1/2 tanking gear. It took about 4 mins and the NPC was oom by the end, but never went below 75%.

Wishing I had read this before I ran in. Stood there, I am DPS SV Hunter (80). Thought can't be that hard, did the Worg castle solo.

Stood infront of the Furry and picked...Tank.

The tank was a poor tank, losing aggro all the time and dying without asking (selfish swine).

Going to run it again tonight but select Healer as recommended here.

Just beat this as an 80 destro lock. Being a cloth-wearer I thought the tank was the best choice, until I died twice. I then tried the healer, who turned out to be a great ally.

For this, just avoid the adds, burn down the bear, and you're good to go.

Soloed as a lvl 80 arcane mage. Chose the Bear form for the Furbolg helper and popped mirror image at the start and started nuking away. Stood at the tip of the roots on the fallen tree to avoid adds and give ursoc a longer distance to run once the furbolg guy died. Was in mostly epic gear though so I'm unsure how good gear you need to pull it off. could be easier in another spec too.

Tur's healing spec is definitely the best way to go. Solo'd as a frost mage at 80 with no problem. He's immune to frost nova, of course, but between Ice Barrier and Tur's healing, I never dropped below 50% health. Go mage tank!

Just soloed as a level 76 Survival Hunter, coulda done it at 74 probably too. My pet tanked the entire thing, just misdirect to your pet whenever it's on cooldown and go all out. My pet was a 10kHP Bear with the healing talents though.. but if you have one, this quest is definitely doable. I never even had to mend pet.

EDIT: Use tree form, you can essentially ignore the adds if you have that out. I died once because I never kept aggro on my bear.

The level requirement for this quest is not 72, as I wasn't able to get any of the Grizzly Hills quests at that level. Since I did read that someone had completed this quest at 73, I would assume the earliest one can get this quest is 73.

Solo'd today as a level 76 combat rogue. Selected the NPC to be a healer, his heals are outstanding, wouldn't expect anything else from a druid. Opened up with garrote (he's immune to stuns) and then followed with my usual rotation while keeping SnD up. Use your cooldowns early so you can use them multiple times. I died at the end because I was stunned and couldn't potion, but was able to still run back while the NPC was healing through the damage. I was able to return and finish off the last 10k or so damage, and completed the quest.

Easy, easy fight. Solo'd as a Level 77 DPS spec'd feral druid, with crappy green and blue gear. Fought in Bear Form with the NPC as healer. Never was below 80% health the whole fight. Took about 3-4 minutes, probably much much less.

Just soloed this as a 74 frost mage in heirlooms/blues. (10k hp with scroll/food, glyphed permanent elemental)

First of all let me say this took me 8 attempts using every cooldown and consumable I could think of, and I finished the fight with under 1000 hp left. I do not recommend attempting to solo this unless you absolutely cannot find someone to group with.

That said, the strategy:

Set Tur to healer mode and /focus him so you can monitor his mana, casts, and stun status. Tur can keep you up through Ursoc's damage provided he does not oom and is not stunned. Your job is to use your cooldowns to keep yourself alive through stuns and damage spikes, not to try and mitigate overall damage to yourself. With that in mind, use health potions, Ice Barrier, Ice Block, and even Blink to survive until a heal lands. Pay particular attention to Tur's cast bar. He is a little slow to cast Nourish; you're likely to die mid-cast unless you use a cooldown.

Pop Icy Veins right off and use Ice Block for the first damage spike or stunned Tur. You will need to use Cold Snap to reset both CDs. Stand at range from Tur+elemental, to draw out his running time during Ice Blocks. I saved my second Icy Veins for when I regained aggro around 30%, but it may be better to use it immediately and try to squeeze in a third use.

Pop Invisibility at ~70%, or a little later if your cooldowns permit. Click off the buff as soon as you go invisible. Ursoc will go to your elemental, then to Tur while you re-establish aggro. Being able to cast without pushback for this portion of the fight is more or less essential in order to get Ursoc down before Tur goes oom.

Other protips:

Amplify Magic on yourself and your elemental, Arcane Int on Tur
The 5% crit reduction from Molten Armor is more important than the ~600 armor from Frost Armor. Ursoc can crit you for over 4k, which will put you in danger of dying.
When Blinking to buy time for a heal, do not Blink through Ursoc. he will turn around and keep hitting you. Instead , blink left/right or straight back, but do not range Tur's heals.
Lifeblood, if you have it, is to be used proactively. If you try to use it when you're below 2-3k, Ursoc will 1- or 2-hit you before the duration is up.
If you're carrying food buffs, scrolls, elixirs, etc, now is the time.
Use your mana gem early, so you can get a second use out of it
I think this goes w/o saying, but just in case: Ursoc is permanently immune to stuns. Therefore, Deep Freeze does #$%^loads of damage to him. Use on cooldown.

3rd person on post to solo it as a 74! ret pally it took a bit of tweeking and a few deaths but i did it with the npc as a healer.This quest is the one i have enjoyed most in grizzlyhills and prob placed in the top 20 of the entire game if i had to go through them all and list them.The fight is a bit tricky u have mobs that run up to you and blow up on you and the bear silences you and the npc frequently makeing it dificult for even the npc who has amazing heals to heal.In this fight i actualy died when the bear was at 20% and i used 2 hammer of wraths i ran back knowin that the npc could hold him for a while came back to the bear with him at 2% and hammer of wrathed him down.

The pathway to get up to Ursoc's Den can be found at 51, 26. (Following around the mountain to the left of the Undead Miners).

I was a little worried soloing this after many comments discussing the difficulty. Nobody in general to group up with, and guild was worthless. As a 73 Prot Warrior, I went for it anyway, and took up the offer on the druid heals. =)

Fight was long, but with about 520 Defense in crafted Cobalt greens & some dungeon quest item Blues... Ursoc was cake. In fact, I think this went better than soloing it at 80 on my rogue.

Just make sure to grab the little blood spawns from the healer and he left after a 3+ minute fight with over half mana. I used Last Stand/Shield Wall at the start, and used my trinkets shortly thereafter and again (if able), also Shield Block promptly after every 40s CD was up. Kept up Demoralizing Shout, and Devastate & Revenge as DPS, with an occasional rend. It was pretty fun and Tur has some sweet heals.

As a 74 feral druid I found that throwing (healer form) Tur a couple of innervates during the fight made it very straightforward. In this third attempt the tree and me left the fight with full health and ample mana. First attempt (no innervates), Tur ran out of mana and died and I died simultaneously with Ursok. Second attempt (one innervate) Tur ended the fight with practically no mana.

Ursoc has about 215K hp, I think a 75 elite. I tanked as 75 prot warrior with 16k hp and good gear and he hardly hit me.

as level 77, At first I tried to fight him SOLO as a Destro / aff Lock, and Tur as HEaler but failed. Void's (void's HP was 10k) agro kept failing and ended up Ursoc attacking me. but then I re-speced to Destro / Demon Lock, after that I succeeded in just one try. The main strategy is to maintain agro and building mild damade at first. dont forget of course to keep your void (with demon talent, my void was 15k, and could be up to 17k if using a talent based spell to be a more effective taunter)alive (have Tur as healer).Additional constraint is also your character will be either stunned or silenced (I dont quite remember), so you could lose about 2 -3 secs in healing your pet or dotting Ursoc. Another problem is that Tur will be out of mana by the time Ursoc is still 45%, so you have to use health funnel ( I have health funnel tallent picked too). the Fight took about 4 minutes and without ursoc attacking me at all. didnt use any pot or bandage. since Timing is essential, dont fight him with a bad LAGGY Connection. caSE Closed.

It's a long fight though.
I used Beserk twice, it went on so long.
Don't forget to keep an eye on the furbolg's mana. I had to innervate him once towards the end.

After several attempts at using Tur as a tank, I cannot stress this enough: USE TUR AS A HEALER.

Tur will keep your health full for about half of the fight if your DPS is good enough. Be sure to pop BL first thing, and use maelstrom to throw lightning bolts. Keep a watch on Tur (focus target him) to see when he runs OOM. Once that happens, use ghost wolf and twin howl. Keep your DPS high and continue using twin howl as often as possible (you should be able to use it 3 times in the 45 seconds.) You might have to maelstrom heal yourself between the twin howls. Once wolves despawn, it's a race to the finish. Hope that Tur has enough mana to carry you through. I used my shammy rage already, so I had to pop a mana potion here. Keep maelstrom healing yourself and you should be golden.
