First blue tanking shield quest reward in WotLK. ~~Comparable to the Illidan drop Bulwark of Azzinoth, but a bit worse than Sword Breaker's Bulwark.~~

Edit: I need to get my eyes checked. But yes, the comments below me are true. This is the first blue shield most alts can get while levelling without instancing or paying in AH.

It's a tough call between this and a Saronite Defender, which is measurably easier to get and can be obtained two levels prior to this quest reward and, oddly enough, is a higher item level (thus higher budget; better stats)

Saronite defender has:
-4 str
+17 stamina
-9 def
+203 armor
+7 block value

It's a somewhat noticeable difference, but if you don't want to shell out the cash for a Saronite Defender (which can easily be amazingly expensive, depending on the server's ore prices), this is a decent alternative.

Even though this is easily not the best choice for the level range, it is notable for being the only blue tanking shield that is rewarded from a Northrend quest.
