Part of the Horde questline for the Wrath Gate event. This quest line is very long and spans the entire length of Dragonblight. Quite honestly, I consider this one of the most important quest lines (thus far) in Wrath. A must-do for any hordeling. :)

In quite a few of these chains there are optional prequests. I will not list these, despite them being in the quest series list, because they are just that: Optional. I will list the LATEST quest available that will start the chain, or the one most likely to pick up while completing other parts of this chain.

Additionally, these quests are Horde Only. I, unfortunately, do not have an Alliance character on the Beta, so I do not have access to any alliance quests. Sorry!

Step names are purely flavor. They generalize what that part of the chain leads up to/is about.

I highly urge everyone to read the quest text. This quest line is quite possibly one of the most epic in Warcraft history and is highly worth the time. Lore lovers and haters alike should enjoy them.

The High Chief is at 25.40. Click on the purple crystal next to him to start the event.

Make sure he is in fact still trapped when you click the crystal. If he is still resetting from a recent event, your key will be used but a new event will not start. Drop quest and get it again to get a new key if this happens.

Simple quest. Click purple crystal, then assist him defeating the elite who will drop down from high above into the water. Really easy.

Don't get scared when you see that the beetle is an elite and run away like I did. The High Chief does most, if not all the work. As long as you hit the beetle, you'll be able to get the fragment.

On a funny sidenote, the taunka warriors that the chief revives can and will attack any nearby alliance. Just did the quest and cracked up when like 6 of the warriors killed a innocent NE Hunter that was questing in the area.

Once the event starts, the revived Taunka warriors stick around for a few minutes. I also had Might of the Horde but was having trouble solo'ing it with my rogue. After I grabbed the item off the Underking, I planted my banner in the ground nearby and the Taunka helped defend it. They disappeared right before the last wave of mobs, but I was able to handle those myself.

I got the quest while someone else was doing it, i just went up to the village, found the dead bug king, and right clicked to get the fragment, quest completed with no fight at all!

For those without co-ords such as me, (bloody patch wrecking my addons) the chief is at the great big black void bit right in the center of the village. theres a purple crystal next to the dark patch to click to free the (cow)man and he will yank the bug down for a nuke fest.

This might not really need to be said because everyone has to do this quest anyway as a prequest to the Wrathgate, but just in case, this quest is AWESOME. Like many imprisoned questgivers, first you have to free this guy. Fine. Unlike most imprisoned questgivers, once he is freed he casts an area-of-effect resurrection spell rezzing all the dead Taunka on the ground, jumps more than 30 yards up to the elite Crypt Lord, knocks him down to where you were, and beats the Crypt Lord to death with his bare hands.

If you are daunted by the length of the Wrathgate quest chain, or if you have already done it on an Alliance toon, I would highly recommend that you do it at least to this point just to see this much.

Done during Dragonflight expansion. Not sure why but the other comments mention using the key ''beside'' the green NPC. Which is incorrect. There is small table with a crystal hovering to the east of the chieftain. Click on that. Dont click on the key in your bags as it wont do anything.

Free High Chief Icemist using the Anub'ar Prison Key and assist him in defeating Under-king Anub'et'kan.

Recover a Fragment of Anub'et'kan's Husk and return it to Overlord Agmar at Agmar's Hammer in the Dragonblight.

You must hurry, <name>. Take the key and use it to unchain my father from the Anub'ar prison. Once he is freed, assist him in destroying the Anub'ar leader, Under-king Anub'et'kan. When the Under-king is defeated, take from his chitinous carapace a fragment as a trophy to present to the Horde at Agmar's Hammer. Let Agmar see the might of the High Chief!
