Paths right outside the cave you get the quest in.

If you're like me, this should help. First of all - You don't need to eat the Eyes of the Eagle. It shows up as a buff, similar to an aura, on you. Garwal runs around right outside the cave, and after you engage him, he transforms into what looks like a white worgal who accidently put on some ZA / ZG Voodoo gear.

this final quest can be skipped if you wish to keep your Worg Disguse, and still get the 'I've toured the Fjord!' achievement.

it increases speed by 80%, so it's useful for where you can't mount and are forced on foot.

I suggest that you turn in the quest. The Worg Costume is nothing to have
as soon as you get hit by any mob the costume disappears and you cannot use it outside Howling Fjord, so do the quest and get nice xp and rep instead! :)

Btw, Garwal is found just outside the cave where you get the quest and is white, so he isn't too hard to find.

You can bandage as a wolf.. you can drink a water walking potion and use the disguise and walk on water at 180% speed.. you can already do this as a shaman or DK, but this is useful for other classes. In addition to that you can swim as a wolf so if you are trying to hop over rivers and barely miss it, no remounting. You can also become a wolf in the water. That and it's fun to be a wolf :D!

But, Ulfang indicated that it came south from the Grizzly Hills? Odd. There aren't any worgen there.

Is it only i that think the Grizzly Hills are north of Howling Fjord?

Spawns around 27,15 as I waited for his corpse to vanish then found the repop walking West from the above co-ords.

Just a heads up that if you abandon the last quest of the chain you will not be able to obtain a new worg disguise. As a result you will not be able to turn in this quest. I asked GM about this and they are aware of issue and might have include it in a future patch. Given how slow blizz can be in fixing quests this could be a while.

Killed him at 27.9 - transforms into some kind of werewolf guy like arugal in silverpine. soloed as 75 prot tank dont think he even hit me once - has 13, 986 hp - dropped a worg haunch and he was skinnable

BUGGED on me - 11/29/08

I did the quest but did *not* (I don't know why) show any buff for having the eagle eyes cast on me.

I ran around for most of an hour being unable to see Garwal.

So I abandoned the quest with intent to just start over.
When I abandoned the quest - it poofed my worg disguise.

I went back to Sage Mistwalker to get another one, he would not talk to me at all. Ulfang is red to me and also will not speak (though he doesn't attack either).

I have a ticket in to the GM's because I seem unable to get the quest restarted in any way.

sage mistwalker gives you another disguise. considering you need to be in the disguise to talk to the wolf, it doesnt make any sense to ask the wolf for another one. im sure you made the GMs eyes roll.

He said he went back to Sage Mistwalker, so it must be a bug.

I accidentally abandoned the quest Alpha Worg while looking for the "eye" that i supposedly have to eat to see Garwal. i returned to Ulfang and he is already hostile to me and i can no longer get another worg disguise from Sage Mistwalker. Do you have any idea how i can get the quest again?

I should have checked wowhead while doing the quest. Vashra and I had the same experience, i could not find Garwal and I didn't have any buff or whatever to see it. :( Hope we could get the quest again.

This is quite funny actually, I got the quest and according to QuestHelper he'd be right outside the cave. So I walked about 70 yards or so, straight out from the cave but couldnt find him. I tabbed to Wowhead ofcourse to read some awesome comments on where to find him. Everyone said the same "He's just outside the cave" so I opend wow and voila, there he is beating on me.

((In other means, yes.. he is right outside the cave, about 70 yards away))

I flew around the area for 5 minutes or so, without being able to find him. Not visually, not with Track Beast nor with trying to spot him visually. I had the buff that allowed me to see him.

Eventually I used the wolf costume, and I found him. Using the wolf costume also helps because all the surrounding wolfs turn friendly, so it's easier to spot it at the radar.

I ran around the whole area trying to find him... nothing. Parked myself at 27.3, 7.8 and waited an eternity... nothing. Put on the Worg Disguise and after waiting only a few seconds at 27.3, 7.8 with the disguise on, Garwal spawned and attacked me.

If you lose the costume, head back to the initial quest giver at the quarry to get another worg costume. I dropped quest on Alpha Worg as he never spawned, had to run back to get another costume from the quest giver / quest turn in.

So I had the same problem that a couple of other's did with this quest with the eagle eye thing not showing up. But fortunatly I read the posts here before abandoning the quest. I also ran into an npc that I had to fight and figured I would put the disguise back on instead of running through everything on my mount so I wouldn't have to fight anything. When I reapplied the disguise the buff appeard and I was able to fight Garwal and complete the quest. Hope this helps someone else who has this problem. :) happy lvling

I had issues with this myself.

Best thing to do:

Find a safe spot in the forest. Right click the Worg Disguise to take it off, immediately reapply the disguise.

Garwal appeared just infront of me when I did this.

The quest log doesn't say so, but if you talk to Watcher Moonleaf you can get a new disguise and still finish chain.

Seriously wanted to quit looking for him after a half an hour then I expanded my search all the way past the apothecary camp and steel gate for 15 minutes and still couldn't find him. So I went back and oh there he is right where he should have been the first 45 minutes of looking. Really sucked.

I had issues finding him aswell, because he was not right outside the cave, and i simply couldn't find it.

I noticed, however, that when you leave the proximity of the cave, you lose your eagle eye buff, and once you get back to within about 100 yards of it, you regain the buff. That gave me an idea of how far he could wander, and i found him shortly after, far to the east of his radius.

As people have stated already, drop the Worgen disguise and reapply it. Maybe this is a case of coincidence for a lot of us, but after 25mins of trying to find this guy, I got tagged by a spider. Killed it and reapplied the costume while camping myself by the cave to wait his pat past, and poof there he was! :)

Garwal.. head straight out of the questgiver cave, onto the grass.. 50 yards or so out of the cave. He spawns there every 2 minutes or so.

the quest text says I need to eat the eagle eyes, but they were not given back to me following the previous quest turn in. Does he just spawn or do I need to kill the big bird again so I can eat the eyes? (ew)

I was having trouble finding Garwal. Tried all of the suggestions, removed Worg form, re-applied. Waited at locations listed, nothing. I finally abandoned the quest and grabbed it again, ran to 28.21 9.07 (in worg form) and found him walking from the south.

Weird thing though, I lost my worg disguise when I fought him, but was able to get a new one from Sage Mistwalker at 31.17 24.49. Needed for turn in.
