Once you use the book, multiple adds will spawn over time. They will try to interrupt the "casting". They are ot tough, about 7k hp each. For our group, after about 2min, Skulloc finally spawned and the fight was about the same as previous mini boss. After death, loot his "soul".

After that,they send you to the Ogri'la (new faction)

The ghost mobs are immune to all forms of fear with the exception of the book provided by the quest. Set up a use rotation with your group as everybody should have the book.

When no attackers near the altar, hammer down whatever ghost is nearby. Once more than one mob has rushed the altar, use the book to fear them away. Watch for clusters of casters who can be easily disrupted by any AOE ability (as a warrior I used demoralizing and thunderclap), although if you get 5 or 6 of them on you, a book use will need to be in the pipe before they wear you down.

After keeping them in chaos for 2 minutes, Skulloc will become fully formed on the hilltop above you. You will be out of combat for a short time, so bandage and drink quickly and engage him.

No special abilities on Skulloc that we noticed, just tank & spank. The only danger is being down on health/mana from the prelude event.

In the event that some other group thinks they're going to scrooge you by tapping skulloc before you're ready, no fears. The object dropped can be looted by anyone after he's dead.

He banished our Rogue and also put Corruption on them during the fight, but otherwise seemed like normal tank and spank

Make sure to mingle with your new subjects after completing this quest.

They say a lot of hilarious things. When you get near, they face you and kneel down.

Best of all is if you blow them a kiss.

Also, one of them has a quest for you.

I've been there for 4 kills now, not the the group, however engaged in combat with him, and it still wont let me loot or click the soul when he dies. I've made sure I'm on the quest, everythings in order, but nothing. I believe they fixed it, but its weird because I used the loot from other parties for all the others in this chain.

EDIT: After the 5th kill, I was at first still unable to loot it, so was about to call it quits when I highlighted it and was able to click o.O So stick around and keep trying if you find yourself unable

The ghosts are easy. We had the tank & dps/cc arranged in a circle around the altar, picking one or two and taking them down as they spawned. If anyone got into trouble they just used their book.

The healer stood on the altar and used the book to fear any who got too close, while also doing what (very little) healing needed to be done. Keeping the healer in this role also saves more of their mana for the main fight (just in case they miss their chance to drink between stages).

Skulloc was a pretty straight-forward tank & spank.

13g is the amount you would get if you could still earn XP from the completion. Because at level 70 you can't earn XP, you get more Gold, i.e. the 24g 60s you got.

The listing above is technically correct. And bare in mind, level 70 won't be the maximum achievable level for ever.

This is part of the quest chain to open up the Ogri'la daily quests. You have to kill five different elite Sons of Gruul. They are VERY tough and you must have a proper 5-man party to handle them (Tank, Healer, 3 DPS). You might even want to bring along some extra people that can help out of party.

Upon the quest completion Mog'dorg yells: All hail, <name>, the new King of the ogres!!!" and a lot of ogres come to have a party with some free buzz. As long as you walk among them the ones near you do kneel. Don't miss the fun!

After completing the quest, your are crowned Ogre King/Queen (depending on character gender) and a large amount of Ogres bow to you. try doing different emotes on them, for example, if you /kiss one, it says "Aw, me not think it work out between us."

I tell the emotes where the ogres will response.

/dance - they start to dance with you

/roar - they roar back
/wave - they wave back

we did this three times and both each time had weird problems looting the skull, it kept saying 'out of range' for all of us. relogging didn't help either. eventually after the third kill we were able to find a spot where we could stand and loot it.

it might help to pull him off his little hill if youre having the same trouble, we had him on the flat ground on the last attempt where we were able to loot it.

What I did as a priest was stand on the altar and the second I saw a ghost about to spawn I hit it with rank 1 sw:p. This gets their aggro before they fully spawn causing them to run to you instead of attacking the altar. Didn't even need the book because I'd just dot and my group killed as they ran to me.

We noticed a small change tonight, but Skulloc appears to be summoning adds during his phase now. Approximately 3 ogres per cast with about a 20-30 second delay between groups.

I'm not sure if this is intended behavior or not, but I do not recall him doing this on any previous attempt I've been a part of.

Skulloc does not despawn if you wipe after he attacks, at least not for a couple of minutes. So if you wipe, run quickly down to buff/drink up and try again with full mana.

Once Skulloc runs out of mana he seems to stop summoning ghost adds, it might be after a certain number of summons though, had no opportunity to verify it was due to him getting low on mana. He has a fairly small mana pool so draining him, unless hes immune, should be quick work.

2-manned him with a Holy Paladin (me) and a Resto Druid.

I slapped on righteous fury and kept concentration aura on, and I AoE tanked all the ogre adds, making sure to keep them off my druid while he kept a full cycle of HoTs rolling.

When Skulloc came out I tanked him using Consecration/Holy Shock/Judgements to slowly damage him. I tanked the groups of adds that spawned and just let them kill themselves with Consecration/Thorns on me.

When my druid got banished, I made sure to keep myself healed until he was able to roll hots on me (concentration aura is necessary here)

And a few minutes later he was down =)

Done with 2 mages (Frost specced / Frostfirebolt Specced)

Just clear the spawns calm without losing alot of mana
when the boss pops up use all Cd's including ur Minor Images, they will tank him untill he dies.

Well as a level 76 shaman, I attempted to solo this quest so I could get the holiday achievement. I'm enhacement, and I utterly failed. It's not that I died. I can't protect the soulgrinder long enough for the elite to spawn. Even with Feral Spirit and an elemental down. If they're down, then they keep them at bay for a while but then they both die and I have to keep about 6 spirits off of the grinder. Not gonna happen.

So you are probably going to need a group for this, unless you have AoE.

Soloed as Shadow Priest lv 80 in 10 man gear. AOE was not necessary, just mindflayed adds as they popped up.

Will need some sort of quick response spell if you are a caster to take the adds out as they spawn. Near the end they come faster than the 5 second cast that I have on my mind flay and I was struggling to keep them off the Soulgrinder.

Once the Gronn is summoned, he is easier than the other ones that I fought. Some healing throughout the fight from Vampiric Embrace was needed and the occasional shield, but I finished the fight without having to worry about health or mana too much.

lol easily soloable as an 80 blood DK...the only challenge was protecting the soulgrinder..other than that he only hits me for 800 and most of the time i was above half health..i expected alot harder

Warriors trying to solo this should try to get rid of the adds if they don't have shadow resistance. The small damages tend to build up when there are a lot of s flying around.

Skulloc and Vim'gol were much much easier for me to solo than the initial sons of Gruul . The initial three would eventually grow enough to overwhelm my pet healing, even as a pretty well geared BM-spec hunter. (I ended up killing them as they ran from my pet's corpse to me, so it was close.) But Vim'gol was easy to grind down, and Skulloc was only a little harder. So don't fret that just because the 3 initial sons are sort of a pain to kill that you can't finish the sequence. Everybody should be ogre royalty.

Easily soloed today as an 80 Feral Druid. Just swiped at the ghosts until he showed up..switched to bear form for the armor upgrade and mangle/lacerate/swiped til he died.

Not really that difficult at all, although it was VERY weird to see all the ogres bowing :)

They do the emote: "Bladespire/Bloodmaul Supplicant brushes up against *Playername* and farts like only an ogre can." and after they say: "Me like to fart, too!"

Soloed easily as an 80 Fury warrior in a mix of epics with a few blues still. Killed all adds as they popped, then popped all dps CDs when he spawned. Didn't even need to pot.

My level 80 healing priest used an alt spec for shadow to do this. My DPS isn't great in Shadow, about 2k (20k heals in main spec). Yet, this was an easy solo, even for me!

The first guy comes up and I mind blast him to get his attention. Then I just spam Mind Sear to wipe out anything that tris to get close. When I got down to about 20% mana, I was worried, but then the main boss showed up, so I Used "Dispersion" to restore the mana and backed away for a bit until I was ready.

I then sent in Shadow Fiend to rebuild the rest of the mana and take some of the threat. I added a couple of DoT's (SW:P and Devouring Plague) and made sure those were kept up. When I got the threat, I used "Fade" to give it back to my "pet" until he died. Then it was a lot of normal DPS with nothing special. From the experience with the other bosses in this chain, I did a Greater Heal on myself the moment I his 75-80 percent health, since, as a clothie, I can go down fast. Kept shields up at all times.

I only had to do 2 Greater Heals. Then he died. The adds that came at the end, I ignored until he was dead and I looted the item. Then I quickly disposed of them and turned it in.

Unfortunately those who missed this the first couple of weeks will have trouble "piggybacking" with a group who is doing it. Because it seems nobody is doing it now. You have to get extremely lucky to find anyone doing this quest. I sat at one quest area for an hour and a half during peak hours one day and saw only one other player come by. It's also tough finding groups to do it unless you are a tank or healer.

This quest is bugged. I have done it 5 times in the last 3 days and always get the message , "you are to far away to loot". Noone in my groups has been able to loot it. We petitioned and were told "it's a known issue , try again later".

59 , 23 is the summon, use your book to fear mobs away from the symbol. Till the big guy wakes up or something. Or you can wait till some other party does it and NINJA the item. :)

This whole quest line, as you probably know by now, when the mob dies a lootable object spawns. Anyone can loot it in the group or not- you just need the quest.

Just hang out at the place if you can't find a group. Usually a guild or opposite faction shows up and you can still loot the object. They usually sppreciate the extra help too. The 5 mans were wiping and without me there as a 6th they'd been out of luck too.

This quest works much like the quests to shut down the manaforges in Netherstorm. After one of the group reads from the Grimoire, the soulgrinder object appears at the alter. Ghost ogre mobs will spawn and attempt to deactivate the soulgrinder, but they have low HP and are easy to kill. Eventually Skulloc will fully spawn, and the ghost adds will all disappear. Then kill Skulloc like the other Gronns in the quest line. I did this with three 5 man groups so it went very easy and all were able to loot and complete quest on first try.

this quest isnt bugged any more, I did it last night on Turlyaon realm.

To do it, you dont have to kill any of the ghosts! dont waste your mana.
simply get a person at a time to use thier grimmore, and then the ghosts will run and disapear
once this happens for a while, if your soulgrinder is still alive (tank could take aggro if he doesnt need that much mana for tanking skulloc) skulloc will come down. every ghost will derez and you can then go and kill him. its tank and spank, so not much is involved. once he is down alot (not sure on percentages) 2 or more ghosts will spawn and target randome group members, fear them and nuke the boss, deal with them after (polymorph and other effects work too, traps dont as they are ghosts)once he is dead, his soul apears as a large pile of bones and some twisting green stuff behind him, you need to loot it like the other gronn items and then you are done! have fun with your ogrila dailies...

there you go, its really that simple.

This is at the Alter,

Once you summon you will be faced with a dozen or so ghost form orges that are mostly spellcasters, down them then soulgrinder appears, Typical Tank and spank, Suggestions, Casters save your mana from killing the ghost form ogres, to help down the Soulgrinder.

Anyone can collect the soul once the mob is dead. I found a group of 4 doing the quest (they barely started) and they completely ignored me when I asked if I could join. I stuck around to watch and I was able to loot it :)

The grimoire is the key to Skulloc's downfall.

Read aloud from the book at Soulgrinder's Barrow to initiate the ritual. An object known as the Soulgrinder will appear, as well as Skulloc's ghostly victims, who will try to destroy it. You must keep them from doing so long enough to force Skulloc fully into the world.

Find the barrow by heading north through the Daggermaw Canyon on the other side of the Circle of Blood. It is on the right side before Gruul's Lair.

Bring back Skulloc's soul.
