Since patch 2.0.1, this mount now costs: 30 Alterac Valley Marks of Honor, 30 Arathi Basin Marks of Honor, and 30 Warsong Gulch Marks of Honor. It no longer requires Commander, but it does require Riding Skill (150).

The war mounts are 100% as epics are, only usable once youve reached commander, and have a black feel to them, (the armor isnt black on the horse, but the horse itself is, otherwise looks like the swift brown steed, purple eyes etc.) Now you can use any pvp rewards once you have achieved that rank. Items base their requirements on your highest rank earned.

The min lvl for this bastard is LVL 53.
Cuase you cant get rank 11 before lvl 53.
I really want to accomplish that!

The ranking system makes it impossible for a lvl 40 to ride it and you will have a hard time out ranking lvl 60s since they get more honor for HKs than lower lvls. And WSG and AB just don't give you as much honor as a run in AV can. I would have never imagined making so much honor in just 3 runs of AV for not even 3 hours. Wait times for WSG and AB are just irritating.

I want this but I'm a NE and I'd have a lot of work ahead of me. I'm happy with the tiger :) that's why I picked NE in the first place. By my predictions I'll have one at the reset of next weeks. *crosses fingers and knocks on wood at the same time*

I was already working on getting exalted in SW, but exalted AND Commander! Holy crap, that would take an enormous effort!
lol, Thank goodness I'm neurotic!
So I wonder, if you can hit commander until after lvl 53 then why on earth to they list it as lvl 40? It's not possible at all, so I'm confused.
Anybody have even a vague idea how many kills to hit level 11?
I'm at 250 something and still a private.

Also I know there are days when the honer is doubled, when is this?

They just need riding skill 75 (normal mount) and you no longer have to chose the normal one (i.e) Horse for Human etc .

So, if you're an elf, you need horse riding to be able to ride this mount? Meaning you have to get exalted with Stormwind?

Not after the 2,0 patch, as fare as I'm informed. Should be able to ride this if you have 150 in ridingskills.

It says here you need 75 riding skill, do you need 150 now? Or just the marks of honor? I wish the 100%'s were more accessible :(

I just checked on this mount, and the riding skill needed is indeed 150

720g, and 150 riding skill bought from any trainer will allow you to ride any mount requiring 150 skill (there is no mount specific skill anymore).

New facts about these pretty mounts.

These require 150 Riding Skill
These mounts no longer require Rank.
You can only get these at 60+ now.
It's damn pretty. :)

Epic riding skill 150 now only costs 500-something not 720 like it used to...I bought my mount for 810g total, and then it went down 300g >,< I wish Blizz would have told us that!

Mount training is 540g with rep 550g with out rep.......mount it self cost 100g with out rep... with rep its 90g...with all totkens its free mount but still have to learn and when u learn 150 u can ride all epic mounts for 75 u can only ride 60% mounts

if i understand correctly then, if i have the required tokens and have obtained the training needed to have a skill of 150, then i can purchase a war steed from the hall of honours without having to be exalted in stormwind even though i am a night elf? i want a horse!

the ranks arent any more.. now u need 30 marks of each exept of eye of storm... im a nelf want horse and ram and ofc the gnome but im to big :S.
much easer go noob questing at human area to get this mount and if u not a noob u would have exaulted at 70. well i had

I'm a lvl 53 warrior on the teranes server and i have 3 questions

1. If i possibly get 90 marks of honor do i still have to be a commander? or did the patch change that?

2. How much does the riding skill cost ans where do i go to train it?

&

3. Do i still have to wait for 60 for this now?

I just took my night elf to the riding trainer in Darnassa to get my training. I was able to ride my steed I earned by going into the battle grounds.

you dont lose the right to mount if you lose the rank and it no longer requires you to be exalted with SW or be a human to ride, you only need to learn epic mount riding

No you don't lose the right to mount up if your Rank drops but you will have to "used it" before you drop, it is the same as all other PvP equipment, take the Grand Marshal items. Almost none players stay Grand Marshal but they still use their weapons.

It is 100% increase i think, kinda cheap for a 100% mount but it takes time to get to Commander so i think it is balanced

if it's like other special mounts, it's 100% speed increase. But, as for qpecial stuff sold by sergeants and so on in PvP grounds, do you lose the "right" of mounting it if you lose the minimal rank for it ?

This Horse can be bought from Lieutenant Karter in Champions Hall in Stormwind City. Coordinates to the Champions Hall entrance are 72.4, 50.8

She sells the following Mounts:
Black War Steed Bridle
Black War Ram
Reins of the Black War Tiger
Black Battlestrider

To be able to actually buy them from her, it is required that you achieve Rank 11 in PvP.
