Under the Shadow - starts and ends with Commander Thomas Helleran in Light's Hope Chapel. Once you have completed this quest, you are eligible to earn Necrotic Runes by killing mobs around Necrotic Shards -- more on under Scourge Attacks.

Phase 6 - <Spoiler Alert>Playing a Zombie in Wrath of the Lich King Classic Pre-Patch

Get infected.

Don't get cured within the time limit.

Zombify.

Plagued ResidentPlagued Roach

Mangle! - Increases your next attack by 20 damage and reduces target's armor by 3%.

Retch! - Retch on the ground! Humanoids in it are slowed and infected. Zombies in it are healed.

Beckoning Groan - Beckon up to four zombies to you. They must not be in combat.

Lurch! - You and nearby zombies gain a temporary burst of speed, to help you catch your food. Removes any move impairment or crowd control effect.

Zombie Explosion! - Burst into pieces, destroying yourself but infecting those around you.

Great guide. Good job! Is there a point in grinding this items before the wotlk? Is the plate set going to be usefull for new DKs or will it be replaced by leveling gear?

It's currently 10 minutes from infected to zombie. As you're a zombie, you lose health. There are NPC cleansers in the BB tunnel and all over cities. I believe flight masters still work if they're dead, but don't quote me on that one. You can fly from a flight point as infected.

Is the tabard you can buy from the quartermaster exactly the same item you could get in the original event, or does it only look the same?

one thing that i could'nt find is what can be infected?, i tryed on murloc´s even that they get infected buff on, after 10min they just die and not spawn a zombie, so my question is what can be become zombie?

Conspicuous Crates filled with contaminated grain start showing up in capitol cities, although Shattrath is spared.

Shattrath is not spared. Currently, Conspicuous Crates and Plagued Roaches are seen around Shattrath.

Scourge Invasion has started but I'm not seeing the Argent Quartermaster in Org or in LHC :-/ About to log an alt in SW to see if they're hiding on alliance side.

As a player of WoW for 21 years...I hate the Zombie Plague Event going on in Wrath Classic Pre-Patch right now. I would like my subscription money back for the week they disrupted my game play constantly dying. All this makes me want to do is log out and not play their game. This is an open invitation for griefers to live out their sick, twisted fantasies on non-pvp servers to kill as their disgusting hearts desire when they are converted into zombies. Very disappointed in Blizzard right now.

For those wondering, Necrotic Runes from the Scourge Invasion can be used to purchase items from the Argent Quartermaster. Ensure you have enough before trying to purchase items. Sometimes, a relog or UI reset can help if you're having issues buying items.
