Similar to the Goblin version, this will commit you to being a Gnomish engineer, which will eventually provide you access to the schematics listed here.

Be warned! If you should suddenly decide you don't want to be Gnomish, you will have to re-learn engineering from the beginning.

I got an Engineering Skill of 236 ot of 240. I am level 34, and still can't find the guy that gives you the quest. this the guy who gives the Gnomish engineering in Booty Bay or in Ironforge and who is the person that gives you the quest?

Tinkmaster Overspark gives you the "Overspark's Signed Pledge" (IF). You just need to right click on that in your inventory and hand it back into him to complete the quest. He then will hand you a new quest.

Fair warning for other fellow Dummies playing Classic WoW:

Completing one of the The Pledge of Secrecy quests and then not completing one of the Show Your Work quests locks the player out from switching their Engineering specialisation. Even if you unlearn Engineering and then re-level it, you will still be offered the same Show Your Work quest as before.

Book "Soothsaying for Dummies" will not offer to switch your specialisation because the game doesn't consider you to have one in the first place.
The Game Masters will not help you with this problem. Believe me, I've tried.

To be eligible for this quest you must be at least level 30 and have your engineering skill 200+. To pick up this quest chain you need to have completed Ingénierie des gnomes (which is picked up in Ironforge from Fuseressort Pannengin) or Ingénierie des gnomes (which is picked up in Stormwind from Lilliam Fusétincelle). Once you completed Gnome Engineering you will be able to see this quest in Ironforge.

Description

Gnome engineering is about engineering theory shaped to serve our needs! Our schemata allow us to make devices that control the world around us; the manual you read covered this.

The manual also covered our ages old oath of secrecy on our schemata. Once you become a gnome engineer, that's that. There is no access to goblin engineering at all.
