Heya
I've just picked up a new DK after a realm change and he's just about to ding 60.
I'm trying to find the best heirloom shoulders and chest to equip him with but I dont know which to choose. I'm guessing I'll have to go from mail shoulders, as I cannot find any plate but they all seem to have both spell power/Attack power on them so I'm a bit at a loss as I've never used them before... do both stats activate or only the one that fits with the toon?
Can anyone link me the best head/chest pieces for a blood/unholy spec dk,
I know this is noobish but i'm new to heirlooms...
Cheers all

I'd recommend just buying the chest & shoulders. For weapons, you'll do great with the starter weapon, then getting the one from Ring of Blood at 65, then Ampitheater of Anguish at 75. And maybe one from Outland in the meantime, but it's not really needed. Save those badges for epic gems. The most important heirloom benefit is the 20% leveling bonus.
Also, for trinkets: those look nice, but if you're leveling blood, you will never be at anything other than full health. Ever ever ever. Again, no need to spend epic gems on redundant trinkets, even if the ones you get leveling are generally rotten. DKs are so overpowered while leveling that those rotten trinkets will in no way slow you down. Two swings and you've killed just about anything.
Lastly: train for flying ASAP. So many quests can be shortened if you fly up to the top level of some building, rather than needing to re-clear it each time you're sent there. Between that and the 20% bonus, leveling a DK is ridiculous.

This may be outdated, but Heirloom weapons used to not work with Runeforging, I assume that's still the case (so you don't rune them and mail them to someone else)?

Thanks for all the advice, I'm only gonna go for the Shoulders and chest piece and this is only because I've levelling with a friends Pally, he has the extra 20% exp so I dont want to get left too far behind...
I'll run the ring of blood, it was a lot of fun last time and hoepfully i'll get some other nice weapons to keep me occupied.
Thanks again to all!

If you don't do the ring of blood, the other alternative at 65 is Sethekk Halls and getting the
polearm
from the quest right outside. At 68, you can get the
Axe of Frozen Death
, so don't kill yourself if you don't get a group together for Ring or Sethekk.
