High level but deceptively weak. Mostly do weak basic melee.

I easily soloed four at once as a 72 prot pally in mostly WotLK blues. Returning at level 75 I was able to easily solo six or more at once.

They can be cannibalized for parts by engineers. This requires skill equal to five times their level, or 395 engineering.

They most often yield greys, and occasionally Cobalt Bolts and Volatile Blasting Charges (between one and three of each). More rarely they yield Froststeel Tubes and Overcharged Capacitors.

Still more rarely they yield Indestructible Frames. These items have no known use, but are white and not grey quality, indicating they do have a potential use.

They sometimes mined data from Databank with the same effect as when you use The Inventor's Disk while doing Data Mining quest.

These lev 79 mobs appear to have the following drop rates for scavenging them for engineer parts:

Volatile Blasting Trigger: 13%
Handful of Cobalt Bolts: 10%
Hair Trigger: 2%
Froststeel Tube: 2%

So far I have only killed about 50 of them, so the rates and potentially items dropped will continue to vary in the future.

Must I be an engineer for the Indestructible Frames to drop? Or are they only obtainable by "skinning" the mob?

there are many reasons why these mobs are a good grind besides how little chance there is of dying while killing them. if you are an engineer working on reputation with sons of hodir this is a must grind...

they drop relic of ulduar at a pretty good rate (got 52 in an hour) ten of these can be turned in to sons of hodir for 250 rep -- auctioned on my server for 2.5g each = 130g
engineers can harvest them for great stuff (38 volatile blasting triggers and 31 handful of cobalt bolts and 1 froststeel tube in an hour) -- triggers auction for 4g each = 140g, bolts 1.2g each = 40g, tube 12g each for a grand total = 192g
the gray items i looted during this hour vended for 68g 15s

one hour of grinding yields almost 400g i'm pretty sure i'll be back killing these little guys soon.

engineers can no longer complain their profession doesn't make money! :)

one last tip for engineers - you can tinker your belt to aoe stun them which helps you pull them all at once (i think i got over 12 one time by pulling half the upper level then stunning them in the middle with my belt and getting the other half to aoe them all down)

i farmed this guy for about an hour and got the schematic for jeeves...so dont give up...it will drop :)

Jeeves Recipe dropped for me after about 2 hours of circling the larger area of these mobs. Taking one at a time there was no downtime. made about 60g in vendor trash, got 20 volotile blasting triggers 15 cobalt bolts and 1 froststeel tube also.

Yeah, the drop rate is totally random... Try AOE farming, even if it's on a different character. Log out and log into the Engineer, did that and I got it in 1 pull, gratz me yes maybe lucky sure but...

These things don't seem to drop anything but trash loot now... I just got a couple whites from skinning them, but only twice out of 5 major AOE pulls...

Took clearing the top level about 3 times and the Jeeves scroll dropped for me, and quickly (and very) happily crafted my personal robot buttler :D

I Aoe this stuff on my pally. i gather a bunch of stuff, consecrate, pwn face, and rape them. in an hour, easily 300-400g, depending on how many greens drop(300-400g with like only 5 greens) its very easy. ive seen rogues AoE them. its alot more profitable if your a engineer aswell.

The SCRAP-E Access card dropped of first mob for me (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=41267) Says here it has a lousy droprate, so maybe I was just lucky ;) - Next project is now to farm for jeeves there too ;)

I would like to say that I believe the data on the drop rates for these items are incorrect, at least for my realm, or the drop rates went up DRAMATICALLY. I looked at the drop rates because I was going to get Jeeves. It has a very low drop rate, and some people say it has took them 400 kills or so. So I was ready for a few hours of farming.

I get to the Library Guardians, the first one drops SCRAP-E Access Card and the third one gave me from the Engineering Skinning, Schematic: Jeeves

Went to farm 图书馆守卫者 and someone was already killing them. I'm a 410 engineer and started salvaging them. 结构图：基维斯 dropped after about 10 salvages. Good luck!

Not sure if they did some tinkering on drop rate or I was insanely lucky but dropped both the schematic and Scrap-e quest item in a single kill...
