Ok, obviously I don't understand anything about the mechanics of this game:
Why the hell does this helm just give Hit Rating? No Crit or Haste?

With all the buffs I get in a Raid, I don't need all this Hit Rating!

I prefer to stay with the Lifespark Visage (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=45289) that I got free in Ulduar.

Yes of course, there's the set bonus...but I can get it from 2 other items of the set...not this one. :)
Yes, it is a slight upgrade from the Lifespark but I'll never waste 58 Emblem on this one....

(I'm Arcane btw...so Haste > Crit is way more important than Hit now )

Despite being a higher item level I believe this item to be a downgrade to Gaze of the Unknown

Assuming both are socketed with +23 Spellpower wearing this over the Gaze would mean:

+8 Stamina
+13 Intellect
+ 66 Spirit
+4 Hit Rating
+5 Damage
-67 Crit Rating

I don't believe the gain in other stats is worth the drop in crit rating, even accounting for (as a fire/ffb spec) Molten Armor and (Glyph included). Fire/FFB spec you would gain 36.3% Crit Rating from the increase in spirit.

The saving grace for this tier piece is its set bonus. If wearing it means you make your 2 piece bonus then I would recommend it, otherwise I would never recommend/consider wearing it.
