The Sacred Mallet drops from Qiaga the Keeper on top of the Altar of Zul in Hinterlands. You then bring it to the top of Jintha'alor and use it near the altar to turn into the Mallet of Zul'Farrak so you can summon Gahz'rilla in Zul'Farrak.

Once I had picked up the mallet from on top of the Altar of Zul I got three lv60's from my guild including a Warlock to run/ride up to the altar as they didn't aggro any of the mobs. They then summoned me and let me create the Mallet of Zul'Farrak.

This saved a huge amount of time fighting all the way through Jintha'alor.

Bring a party, there are a lot of elites. As said, go to Jintha'Alor, this quest is extremely hard, but the reward is awesome.

Fairly easy to get, especially if you have stealth capabilities.
First you have to defeat the dual elite casters at the top of the Altar of Zul in The Hinterlands.

At that point you will have the sacred mallet. which you then need to bring to the altar at the top of Jintha'alor. For a non stealther you will need a group or you could try your luck at mounting and running past all the mobs on the way up. For a stealther just stealth all the way to the altar. and you can generally stealth right up to the altar and use the hammer before you are hit by the 51 elite guardians.

For a non stealther you might have a bit more issues using the hammer quickly and getting out of there. But one death is worth the hammer i believe.

Hammer is used to summon Gahz'rilla in Zul'Farrak for the Electrified Scale which yields you a Carrot on a Stick ( +3% mounted speed).

Pretty Easy fight, just clear around the pool, and watch out for when he flings you into the air as it hurts coming down.

Soloed this as a 52 mage, but could have done it a couple levels lower if I weren't so careful. Killing the two Keepers on the altar was easy once I figured out to use Greater Shadow Protection Potions, one for Qiaga and another for Morta'gya after I looted and popped the sheep. Stripped and rode all the way to the top of Jintha to the open area to the west right in front of the cave to Sharpbeak. Killed a few wolves to get close to the altar, then sheeped the elite right next to it while the priestess walked back into the cave. As long as you can handle an elite your level and somehow cc the elite for a few seconds (sap, freeze trap, seduce...) you should be able to pull it off.

It may be the hardest quest that I have ever done. It was probably because we weren't careful, but I died close to 10 times.

Soloed Qiaga and ran from the second for the mace as a 49 enh dw shaman. Clear the stairs and pull, keep grounding totem up and los as much as possible. Jumping onto the rail will los the two casters, took a while but it's doable with knowledge of how to los. As to the second part at Jintha'alor, just ride up and die until you make it to the altar, use the mallet, being hit doesn't cancel the cast.

Soloed as a 52 rogue.

Killed Qiaga the Keeper and Morta'gya with Adrenaline Rush, Evasion, and Blade Flurry...

Then stealthed to the altar at Jintha'alor, sapped the 51 elite named guardian, blessed the Mallet, vanished, walked a bit aways, and hearthed out.

I did this while waiting to find the last person for the ZF group I was in. Took less than 10 minutes.

I soloed this with my 53 priest. I Mind Soothed every troll in my way and went up safely. The hounds were a bit of a pain, but despite that, it was pretty easy.

As for the 2 elite trolls, I MC'd one, nuked the other one down while wasting my MC'd target's mana...
They were both on low health so I just killed them both pretty quickly.

Solo'd as lvl 51 night elf balance druid, same way as the ancient egg quest.

- prowled behind the altar
- back to human form without aggroing
- summon treants near the priestess and the guard
- created the mallet in the middle of the chaos
- even got away unharmed in travel form without aggroing the wolves...

Got the Sacred Mallet off the ellite casters easy enough as a 46 BM hunter (not yet learnt 46 moves), once got that simply suicide run up Jintha'alor to the altar. Ok, costly on repair bill but once full red cant loose any more duribilty :P easily soloed... Now I can sell myself to ZF runners, to summon Gahz'rilla... Make money, get XP... Sounds good to me!

The mallet is used on the last boss in Zul'Farrak. It summons the creature so you may kill it.

To get the mallet you will first need to obtain https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=9241. This "Sacred Mallet" is found at 49, 69 in the Hinterlands, at the top of a temple. Kill Qiaga the Keeper. Once you have looted the "Sacred Mallet" you must venture into Jintha'alor in the Hinterlands.

To get the "Mallet of Zul'Farrak" you need to use the "Sacred Mallet" at the Jintha'Alor Altar. Which is located at 58,77 in Jintha'alor. The temple should be infront of a cave and have a troll laying down on it.

Soloed as 47 feral druid. Pretty easy. One tip.....the harder part was getting the mallet by killing the keeper. There are two keepers, plus 3 or so other casters, so it gets pretty hot up there. But, if you jump down a very small ledge behind the altar, you break LOS and combat. Not all the way down to the ground, just down a samll bit. You can stealth again, walk a few steps and attack again.

Strategy is kill one caster, break combat before you die, rinse and repeat. You can clear the top relatively easily and then loot the mallet.

When you go to form the hammer in Jintha'Alor, very easy. Wait for the priestess to walk into the cave.....she paths between the altar and the cave behind the altar. There is one lvl50 wolf (non-elite) you have to kill. He stands right in front of the altar. Then form the mallet. You can easily kill the wolf and form the mallet before the priestess comes back.

Without stealth, would be much harder to do the first part, and ardous to do the second, unless you were on the Jintha'Alor quests anyways. I would be surprised if a non-stealth lvl47 could do the first part, even a hunter, because several lvl47-50 casters at once are to much if you are in your 40's. Maybe a really good shadow priest or lock could fear em, kill one, break combat and do it over.

Finally, for the second part, if you don't stealth, if you ride up in the mountains to the west (left as you face the entrance) to Jintha'Alor, you can jump on the wall, and bypass many mobs. However, you will have to fight from there, and the mobs in Jintha'Alor are runners, so its tough for one peep to do it all the way up.

Soloed as a lvl 44 prot paladin... used the viking helm from uldaman on one of the keepers, killed the other one (some alliance helped me aswell) killed the other guy, mounted up ran through jintha'alor without dismounting by jumping through the melee mobs and then zig zag running to make em lag behind... the area with the lvl 50-51 mobs had been cleared by someone else, so i just ran up to the altar, aggroed a few wolves and some trolls here so bubbled and made the mace.
Died after that but after respawning i just ran northwest on the top floor till i reached the waterfall and went down here.

At the Jinthalor i had to die once, then FD run till the altar.

If you are a rogue, it is extremely easy to turn the Sacred Mallet into the Mallet of Zul'Farrak. When you use the mallet, combat damage does not interrupt the process. Once it's created, Vanish. You're done.

Just did this as a lvl 44 mage and 45 pally. we got the mallet from the top of the altar of zul in hinterlands. hinterlands are reached thru a small passage in the NE corner of hillsbrad foothills east of dunholde keep.

getting the mallet is not easy if you are lower level because it is protected by a lvl 50 (Qiaga) and 2 shadowcasters. once u get the mallet go to the SE part of hinterlands by road.

now u have to charge the mallet to get it ready for zul farrak. go past 60,77 and fight your way slowly up thru the temple. the mobs start at lvl 45-46. u are aiming for a small stadium area in the SW part of this maze. as you go up the steps, mobs start thinning out but become lvl 49-51 nonelites. if u are patient, even lower lvls can survive this.

the last part is surrounded by wolves and 1 troll guard. they can be pulled one by one. althought the high priestess patrols the area by the altar, you just wait until she leaves and charge the mallet on the altar with the PvP horde body on it.

now you are ready for zul farrak!

Easily doable as a hunter. Get the mallet, head to Jintha'Alor then mount up and run past everything until a nice open safe spot, feign death, remount and run to the alter. (Pray you don't get dazed and knocked off your mount) Feign again and call pet. take out any wolves nearby and make your mallet of Zul'Farrak.

This quest is MUCH easier now that the temple isn't all elites. It's pretty soloable on any class, and shouldn't be an issue at all with a duo or more.

Done by a level 49 frost mage solo. Its not easy. Not hard, but not easy. There are two ways of going about it. One, kill everything in your path. Good if you're very patient and have an hour to kill. two, my way. First, throw on frost armor and ice barrier. Second get on your mount. Third, RUUUUUUN. Just follow the path and you'll eventually end up there. you may die along the way (I did) but it's worth it. When you get to the altar, throw on ice barrier, and use the mallet. It will prevent you from being interrupted by the guardians. Then either die and spirit heal, run back out, or lose aggro and port. A good way to lose aggro is to jump in the pools nearby and go to the bottom. Most mobs, if not all, won't follow you in.

Very easy for lv 50 rogue. Stealth all the way through the temple, upon reaching the altar take out some of the closest wolfs (tough but nothing special), then re-stealth. Sap Vile Priestess Hexx and burn the guy sleeping on the altar (he has a lot of HP, but is manageable within the sap period).
What I would recommend is Vanishing immediately after he dies, and opening Vile Priestess with Cheap Shot. Using Gouge+Backstab as often as possible to decrease her casting time has proven effective against her, be aware, however, that despite doing that, I got hexed twice and had to pop Lifeblood III.

This is really easy for any nelfs or classes that have stealth. For nelfs, just run and keep running until you're about to die, then shadowmeld. But be careful because if the NPC's walk over you while you're in shadowmeld, you'll be attacked. Repeat.

For stealth classes, it's pretty obvious. Stealth and walk to the alter.

Once you get to the alter, wait for Vile Priestess Hexx to walk behind the big mask/stone thing, and do the mallet (walk up the stone where the sleeping guy is and use the mallet). Then run to a pool nearby, and jump in and just sit there until you're out of combat, then you can hearth, or teleport, or anything else.

Currently this weapon becomes invisible when it is sheathed - this is most likely a bug as patch 3.0.8 went live only this morning. Also, the sheathing animation shows the character placing the mace on their back, meaning this could be one of the few one-handed weapons (particularly maces) in the game which sheathe on back, if Blizzard ever give it a sheathed animation :D.

With the new stats and function, and assuming it is BC enchantable (which should be given the req. level of 35), this is an incredible twink weapon for fury warriors in the 39 bracket, and even for rogues since it has higher top-end damage than The WSG sword (Ally Version). It also has nearly 3-4 more DPS than Vanquisher's or Sword of Omen (Ally Version?), and 8 stamina to boot!

As of patch 3.0.8, the Mallet of Zul'Farrak is no longer required to summon Gahz'rilla. You must still go up to the gong and "use" it to summon him though.

You can't sell this item or the Mara Scepter, regardless of having a sell price on them.
Note that these items start out with 0 durability (broken) but can't be sold even after beeing repaired.

Another thing I don't think anyone's mentioned is that this closely resembles Stoneslayer, which was an item level 49 which now only requires level 40.

Most pre-BC items (before raiding of course) have item levels 5 above that of the required level. Stoneslayer, in this case, was exceedingly powerful aside from stats because of this, simply because it had a higher DPS than pretty much any other level 40 item. This Mallet actually is an even more extreme case of this; it requires only level 35 but has an item level of 50, a 10-level disparity between expected and actual. For this reason, this mace is plain amazing; you will be able to hold onto it for quite a while.

As of 3.0.8 it is a nice twink wep 33.4 dps stam and str most dps i have found on other places is about 30 you can get it at 35 just get a lil help and it looks great but as of 3.0.8 you do no longer need this for gaz this is a rogue/warrior wep i think and yes there is epics but still there dps isnt this high this is truely the best mace for the 30-39 bracket the 38 epic mace is 32.3 dps even if 39 it wouldnt be this good and its stats r retarded but its unique so still need some other wep id sugest Dazzling Longsword as oh i just made this so if it doesnt show im sorry new to wowhead

i am having a hard time with people dissing the mallet i cant seen to get anyone willing to help me get it. They seem to hate the fact its a 35 weapon. why do people insist on camparing it to higher level epics i dont care. I had it on my hammy and also on my palidin and it worked great for them. My rogue just replaced it at level 58.

I dont get it... why would a lvl45-50 want this mace? It should be BoE.

Firstly, required level is 35. If you have a high level friend, this makes a rediculous MH for rogues, shamans, warriors or prot pallies. It is very quick and easy to get, took me and my friend 10 minutes. I respecced fury on my warrior for this, replacing https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=6975 seeing as it is a 2 hander with 2 more DPS, obtained through much more tedious methods (albeit soloable at 40).

Secondly, if it were BoE, people would make this in 10 minutes, go sell it on the AH, come back and make another one, and eventually this weapon would become so undervalued and common that every melee class would have it at 35 for a meagre price, effectively ruling out any other 1h weapon choice (that is obtained without a group, high level friend or tonne of gold) for many, many levels.

All in all, yes it is average for its iLvl, but for its required level it is rediculously good, and making it BoE would just eliminate any other 1h weapon in the 35-45 bracket for good.

I ran ZF last night with my husband, just to get the achievement, and we had forgot to get the mallet. *Not that it was needed. LOL* Anyways, I looked it up here on Wowhead, and saw that it would disenchant into a large radiant shard. Sooo, I went to the Hinterlands, to actually create the mallet. After porting myself back to SW, I go through my bags, then try to disenchant the Mallet, and get the following message, "Item cannot be disenchanted."

Just wanted to let those enchanters know, the information here regarding DE'ing is no longer accurate.

This item is the equivalent of to lvl 45 rare quality, but you can weild it at lvl 35.
It is by far the best hemo/combat rogue twink weapon of this BG bracket.
Enchant it with mongoose and you're good to go :)

It's a great weapon for a leveling Enhancement shaman. The mace is comparable to Ripsaw or The Hand of Antu'sul from Zul'Farrak, while being way easier to obtain - if you have a friend that can help or another account of your own, you can get it as early as level 35 (although DW comes at 40).

I decided to get it at 45 for two major reasons:

I wanted to obtain it by myself, without going 'ez mode' and using a higher level player's help. Qiaga is 50 so I had to fight a mob that was 5 levels higher and came with a level 50 add - just focus on her, use all your cooldowns, kill, then run away and come back to loot.
DW without 3/3 DW Specialization is not that much fun, even if you have some +hit enchants (e.g. on your Dragonscale gloves).

It looks awesome and should serve well until level 60 and HWL weapons.

Anybody else think this item should require a higher level? A level-35 would find it basically impossible to do this quest alone; even a 5-man group of 35s would have a lot of trouble. Other items of the same quality require level 45. It seems that the level requirement for this item is a whole 10 levels too low, and if you have higher-level friends or alts, it rules out any other one-handed weapon for at least 10 levels.

Considering the ease at which it can be obtained, warriors might want to invest some time into getting this to use as a tanking weapon, especially if you didn't get https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=9686 from that quest chain in Feralas. However, its usefulness may be short-lived, as Zul'Farrak is generally the last dungeon where off-spec (i.e. non-Protection) warriors can tank without too much of a problem. This is especially true with Fury; Arms can last quite a bit longer. So Arms and Prot warriors, get it; Fury will probably like it for offensive purposes. Either way, it's worth the 45-60 minutes it usually takes to get it.

Completed this as a 42 Warrior. The hardest part is getting the first piece. I had a 80 wandering around training herb kill it for me, though I'm sure you could get it done with a group at 42-44. After that, mount up, and run your ass up the temple to the alter. You need to have an epic mount, but it's possible, only died twice. Once you get to the top you should be home free.

Qiaga the Keeper drops it at the Altar of Zul in the Hinterlands.

It says this : "Use at the Jintha'Alor Altar to create the Mallet of Zul'Farrak."

After that you have to go to Jintha Alor and use it on the altar there.

Jintha Alor is just east of the Altar of Zul and it is a fairly large region with Elite trolls level 47-52 all over the place.

You have to run trough a maze to get to the altar. Just go up whenever you can and you'll get there someday. If you have a cave entrance in front of you, don't go in ! Just turn around and go back a bit. This isn't the right place for this.

The altar is just a big stone block in the middle of a "coliseum/arena/staduim". There are wolves all around the place but only 1 troll close to the altar.

Just sap the troll, use the mallet (it takes around 10 seconds), vanish and get out of there (on foot or with your Hearthstone).

It takes a long time to sneak around these ruins but it still is a lot shorter to do it that way than assemble a party and kill everything.

Besides, it is fun to do as a rogue. You can pickpocket over 100 guys on your way....and kill some too :)

Best part about this suicide run is that once you get to the top pof jintha'allor to enchant the mallet, the altar is surrounded by elites and the enchant has a 3 second cast time.

If u are rogue, this is easy... stealth and go altar spot (tloc 59,77). Right timing is the key here. There is patrol and wolf in altar or nearby, when they leave, just sap that one Aman'zasi Guard, then use that mallet thing. Be sure that you stand on altar. After you have that Mallet of Zul'Farrak just vanish...

Went up to altar in stealth.
Waited till priestess hex go into cave..
Successful sapped guard near altar.
Made Mallet :) it has casting time about 5 sec to make it.. (same as Disenchant time I think) if you're alliance dont worry about troll lying on altar he won't attack you.
I was far enough from wolf so he didn't aggroed me :D
Vanished after (sap works on red mob so short so I got attacked after I made mallet ).

Never died :D

If you fail sapping mob try vanish and wait 5 min until CD go off and try again ;P

How to get this! First, go to the Hitherlands. Next, go atop the Alter of Zul. There should be 2 keepers. Keeper is in the name, it shouldn't be to hard to find them! There at the top. Kill one and loot a sacred mallet. Next, find your way to that HUGE troll city Jintha' somthing. (Also in Hitherlands! Look at map!) However you can, get to the very top, just keep looking for stairs and go up. There should be a boss girl around the center of the top floor. With an elite guard and dog.... However you can Jump on the little stone table and right click sacred mallet. The magic will enfuse it and it becomes Mallet of Zul'farrk! YAY! This mallet alows you to ring a gong in Zul' Farrk the instance and a boss comes out. Happy hunting!

After you get the Sacred mallet at Altar of Zul.

Use your mount and run to Jintha'alor. Run all the way up to the top of the mountain (mounted). You will pull some mobs on your way up, but just continue running ON your mount (don't stop)!

Press 'M' from time to time to see where you are. Follow the roead in the map that ends up between 'I' and 'N' in the name JINTHA'ALOR on the map.

Continue south through the opening in the wall there and you will see the altar and Vile Priestess Hexx in the middle of the amphietheatre in front of you. Turn left and stop by the wall and dis-mount. If some mobs still have aggro on you, just FD and watch them run 'home'...

(Vile Priestess Hexx and the altar is at coords 59.77)

Now look at the amhietheatre. Between you and the altar there will be 2 or 3 wolfs. Vile Priestess Hexx and a partner is standing by the altar. Now open the bag where you have "The sacred mallet" so it's ready for use. Wait until Vile Priestess Hexx walks away from the altar. Then send your pet to draw aggro from the wolfs between you and the altar. Allso send your pet to attack Vile Priestess Hexx's partner. Use aspect of the pack and run forward to the altar and rightclick on the mallet. 3 seconds later you receive the "Mallet of Zul'Farrak".

If you are lucky you can manage to get away from the altar and FD. If not, just die and then res at the spirit healer.

Only one person in the group need the Mallet of Zul'Farrak to summon Gahz'Rilla! It can be used over and over again. You can help many partys later to hit the gong and just get out of there if you want.

I did this entire thing with just myself (48 undead rogue) and my friend (50 tauren hunter) we found that getting the mallett was much much easier than charging the thing. killing 2 50 elites proved no problem but rather than going through hordes of elites in their upper 40s and lower 50s with just 2 people we used quite an interesting approach for it. As a rogue I simply snuck past everything with no worries but of course I couldn't just leave my buddy behind. So we came up with a little system for this, I would sap/distract single mobs and once we came to a group he would mount and run through everything with his pet already dismissed, once he reached a secluded area such as a set of stairs he would simply feign death and wait for me to get to him. Once we reached the altar with this method he ran straight to the altar and performed feign death on it.(quite dramatically I assure you) Anyway after that I proceeded to sap the main mob and blind the other, before my time was up we both created our mallet got a good distance away and performed a vanish/feign death and hearthed. Easily done despite my rather large and stealth impared companion. This is just to show that there can be quite a few ways of getting past stuff without a fight lol. Good luck forging your mallets and obtaining your trinkets hope this post was able to either help or amuse you all.

I found the tablet from ZF that told me what to do. Simple but not that easy.

First kill one of the 51 keepers at the top of the Altar of Zul in the Hinterlands.
Coords: around 48,65

should get "the sacred mallet" . says its needed for the mallet on the item, so youll know when you get it. for me it was first drop.

then go forge it at the top of Jintha'alor. Same place at the egg quest and same place as the Vile Princess Hex. it is NOT where you find sharpbeak .
Coords: around 60,77

few tips.
stealth is your friend.
lots of mobs.
lots of mobs.
can forge mallet at Jintha'alor while being attacked.
stealth makes this quest simple.

did this as a 48 druid in an hour. took long because a ? rogue was helping a friend into Jintha and I couldnt sneak by so i had to wait lol.

If you're lazy like me, you can ride on your mount to the top of the altar of zul and kill the troll keeper, then if you die, respawn near her safely and loot the sacred mallet. Then you ride to jintha'alor on your mount and ride all the way to the top, tryin to avoid as many trolls as possible. For me it took so much quicker this way than actually killing them all, as there are a lot of them and i now have the mallet and a little repair cost =]

Good luck to anyone trying to get the mallet of Zul'Farrak!

You must go to the Hinterlands.

1. Go to the Altar of Zul and kill Qiaga the Keeper. This will drop the Sacred Mallet.

2. Take that mallet to Jintha’Alor. It is a maze-like area, but all you have to do is keep going up anytime you see stairs. Eventually you will make it to the top.

3. Right-click on the Sacred Mallet at the altar to create the Mallet of Zul’Farrak.

This weapon by FAR is the absolute best weapon you can get for any class that can use it until around lvl 49-53 area. One handed blue weapons at around 49 are only slightly higher, and 52-53 for green weapons.

I actually got this mallet helping a buddy who had picked up the quest. He wasn't able to share the quest with me but I still got the mallet - that was pretty cool.

It's a nice weapon. I was able to solo it with a level 53 warrior - slow but not dangerous, and i was able to walk around a lot of the guards.

Place is on top level near the cave - if you are facing the cave entrance it is to the left, about as far as you can go on that plateau.

Myself lvl 80 and by lvl 35 fury warrior girlfriend are twinking alts, all togather it took use 5 mins each to kill the mob that drops the mallet, run and kill to the alter and creat the weapon, for a 39 fury warrior this is the best and not only best, but very simple to obtain, one potency enchante away from having a total of 56 AP and 80 Health and a 109 top damage ( better than any 39 one handed weapon ) and a 2.50 speed. congratz blizzard

Use the Mallet to ring the gong at the deep end of the pool in Zul'Farrak and summon Gahz'rilla. Both Horde and Alliance can do this quest, which is obtainable on the Gnome side, at the Racetrack in Shimmering Flats, Thousand Needles.

But it is an almost necessesary step if you want to defeat gazhrilla. If you have the quest to go after gazhrilla you will need a mallet or someone in your group that has it. Only one is required in the party and it does not matter who has it.

For anyone who needs to get the mallet and doesn't know how I'll add the info the game gives you for it. This is from the "ancient tablet" that is a sometimes drop in ZF.

"To creat the mallet of Zul'Farrak, one must first travel to the alter of zul and obtain the sacred mallet from a troll keeper.

"Next, one must bring the sacred mallet to the altar atop of the Jintha'alor.

"Using the sacred mallet at the altar will infuse it with power, and transform it into the mallet of Zul'Farrak."

If you know where the altar is, (the one near the priestess that has a horde NPC lying on it) and you are okay with dying... then with whatever means necessary you could get to the altar and just click the mallet and it should most likely be complete before you die, - make sure you are close enough to the altar when you click the mallet.

i did this as a 53 feral druid so it was easy for me seeing as i could just stealth past most mobs.

just putting that out there.

The first step is to fight Qiaga the Keeper
Qiaga the Keeper the Hinterlands, she will drop the Sacred Mallet.
Sacred Mallet take that mallet to the top of Jintha'alor in the Hinterlands where Priestess Hexx is
Vile Priestess Hexx you use the Sacred Mallet and you will create the Zul'Farrak Mallet.

Easiest way of course is to just stealth up to the altar carefully passing all guards. When you reach the altar there is one elite that stands right in front of it and Hexx. Thankfully Hexx takes a walk and gets far enough for you to sap the guard, use the mallet and vanish out of there. Very easy doesn't quite covers it. Actually the hardest part is moving at 35% the speed around a big city as Jintha'Alor :D

LOL! i was just browsing thru my bank items today and i noticed this mallet is now an equipable rare quality mace! Apparently u create it exactly the same way as before so anyone who can use 1H maces... this is a very nice weapon u can pickup at Level 35 for doing next to nothing... obviously need a higher level friend. Looks nice too :)

There's enough help already on getting the Sacred Mallet from Qiaga the Keeper. The more extremely difficult part is using it to create the Mallet of Zul'Farrak itself.

Now, you can fight your way through the troll city, or you can do things the easy way. Have you and your party members (you'll need at least one other person with you), remove all of your items with durability (everything but necklesses, trinkets, etc.). Get on your mount (you can mount inside the city), and just run up to the top. After exploring a little you should find the altar, which is in an outdoor auditorium of sorts with a cave behind it. At the entrance to the cave is Priestess Hexx. On the altar itself is a Horde NPC. Now, once you find this area, just let the mobs of the area kill you. After you run back to your corpse, have your friend respawn and gain agro from all the nearby enemies, then respawn and stand in front of the altar and right click the Sacred Mallet in your inventory. Wallah! You have the Mallet of Zul'Farrak. Then you can just repeat the process for the person who took the hits for you. Gahz'rilla awaits!

Oh, and there is no quest for this. Just find and fight Qiaga the Keeper and the Sacred Mallet will drop (everytime I believe, and can be picked up by all party members from one corpse). Then take it to the troll city, as previously mentioned.

Just did it and it's not real difficult if your a rogue with Master of Deception. You have to walk 5 flights of stairs. Lot of 46-48 elites along with non-elite dogs that you have to watch for. when you get to the top of the last flight of stairs hang a LEFT and go into an outdoor colliseum. Get up close and wait. When hexx walks away sap the elite by the altar. Make your mallet and fade away.

If you do not have stealth. Then either do a Leroy to the top floor and run back to your body to rez or get a good group and fight your way there.

All this #$%^ for a "Carrot on the stick". No wonder no one wants to get the dang thing.

Just did this today with my 45 Warrior, solo.

Did a nekkid corpse run to the alter, took another death there. Backed up to a safe spot to rez, equipped my tanking gear and then bandaged myself back up to full health. From there, I ran at the alter in defensive stance and popped shield wall.

The mallet only takes about two seconds to channel and isn't interrupted if you get hit. Granted I died after shield wall fell. Took a spirit rez and hearthed.

Getting the actual Sacred Mallet was a different story though.

That was a perfect guide, takes a times dying and such to get all the way to the altar. Took I'd guess ten minutes with the dying and running. Just make sure every time you rez, its in a safe place where you can heal up...and mount up.

Just a few side notes...the Colliseum is the top-left portion of Jin (if you were facing it head on.) You need to be actually standing on the lower portion of the altar, can't just be near it.

The mallet only takes about two seconds to channel and isn't interrupted if you get hit

That is the key part, its a quickie, only death interrupts you doing it and it can be done in combat.

OK! after getting really pissed trying to get to the top of Jintha, just to find out the mallet isnt dropped there has inspired me to write this:

No one really said where to get the mallet on here, and I asked all over about it. You must get the Sacred Mallet first from Qiaga the Keeper, a 50 elite, at The Altar of Zul NOT AT JINTHA! You then go to Jintha to craft it into the Mallet of ZF. I ran someone all the way into Jintha to find out we just had to leave and come back. Please dont make the same mistake as me.

Solo created at altar as 48 rogue, just wait for Hexx to walk away, sap the guard and click the mallet. Got attacked by a wolf but getting hit did not break the casting of the creating the mallet. Vanish, done. Booyah.

ALL YOU NEED TO DO is solo 1 lvl 50 elite priest that has 2~ or so mobs as bodyguards. then use the mallet it drops at the top of the temple WHEN THE PRIESTESS PATS AWAY FROM THE SACRAFICING TABLE. THAT'S IT
