From the PTR 3.3 Patch notes (Updated 10/27/09):
Players who take part in groups who have one or more members who have been matched with them randomly from within the Dungeon System will receive extra rewards, up to and including the coveted Perky Pug non-combat pet. The more random players with whom one groups, the faster the pet can be obtained.

The acronym for "Pick-up Group" is PUG. The reward for using the random dungeon feature to take part in Pick-up Groups? A Pug.

I believe the pet will be a Pug dog. I don't know what else a Pug could be, and the icon being a bone supports the theory.

One of the GM's gave me this pet today during a LFG pug and it was actually the Core Hound Pug pet instead of the dog when summoned.

OMG, I am sooo excited for this! I have a pug irl and this will just my game play more enjoyable that I can bring my "dog" in game with me. I am used to pugging groups so this shall be easy.. or maybe not but I know it will totally worth it! Haha, yay! Sorry, I am a little excited as I said before. <3

I like that the pug not only has a spiked collar, but a harness. I can't wait to have my in-game doggy who wiggles his tail so hard at everyone that he needs a harness to hold him back. I hope he does excited snorting noises too!

Well, I own a RL pug and I have to say thats the best pet for ME by far. I hate grouping but I will to get that pet. My main has 56 companion pets but I would trade most of em for the PuG....LOVE IT!

I just got the Perky Pug Pet after getting "Looking For Multitudes" achievement, which requres you to group with 100 random players using the random heroic dungeon tool.

I understand that you need to get into a random group 25 times (25 times with 4 random people = 100 people). What I'm wondering, though, is whether or not it needs to be 100 unique people. If so, it could take more than 25 groupings.

I love how blizzard put a harness on it instead of a collar. Pug's aren't supposed to wear colars due to their breathing problems. He's so cute, he looks like my pug, Kirby. Too bad I don't play anymore :(. Oh wells, GL to you all. Such a cutie.

I am ridiculously excited about this little guy. My sister breeds pugs, but I have not yet been able to wrangle the finances to bring one into my home. (Turns out vets cost money, who knew?) At least I can have one in the game until the money thing shakes out.

Indeed, a solid allusion to PuGs in-game, as quite a few contain players who need to be carried, seem clueless about what they are doing, and have a tendency to wipe.

I have been leveling as fast as I can just so I would be able to do heriocs so I could get my pug. I am trying to find the ACH on the list so I can track it and I am unable to find it. Is it no longer there or what?
