Got this one just now.

It drops from the razzashi raptors.

Doesn't take too long to get one if you can AoE, as there are 3 groups of 5-6 of them behind the kind of pyramid where Bloodlord Mandokir is.

Something to watch out for is the disease they put on you, Infected Bite, as it deals damage every 10 seconds and makes you take an additional 100 damage per stack and if your a leather or lower class it can hurt with too many stacks.

Got it on 9th kill. Not sure if they upped the drop rate since PTR or if i was just really lucky.

Not sure why this question was marked down as it is a valid question!
The pet is BOE and is a white item so not affected by the master loot system. It is going to disappear in Cata so if you want one better start farming now!

Nice way to farm gold, since in cata zul gurub will not be an istance anymore, and a blue post somewhere has stated that the two mounts and this pet will no longer be obtainable

I farm raptors twice a day (basically when I log in), and on average I get one pet every two days..not bad uh i'm stocking all this pets, waiting for cata's release

Ahhah, two jokers are trying to sell these for 15,000 gold on Ysondre-Horde. Ridiculous. I’d pay maybe 3 gold, if you were lucky? Auctioneer claims that’s their approximate worth, but the volume is so low it’s difficult to trust it.

This pet was previously dropped by raptors in Zul'Gurub. In patch 4.0.3a, Zul'Gurub was removed from the game as a raid and the razzashi raptor was supposed to be discontinued. Luckily, the pet was not discontinued and it is now a zone-wide drop for all of Stranglethorn Vale. The drop rate is not known, but it is likely it is 1 in 1000, the same drop rate as the other zone-wide drops.

I can confirm that this pet does indeed now drop from normal mobs in STV. I looted one from a Venture Co Geologist while grinding up Steamwheedle Cartel reputation yesterday on Frostmourne realm. I'd killed about 3000 of them all up over 2 days and it didn't drop again, so I think it's safe to speculate that the drop is still a rare one.

This fell off of a Kurzen Medicine Man in Kurzen's Compound of Northern Stranglethorn just a few minutes ago for me. I was completely surprised, but it did indeed happen.

I actually got this lil fellow while doing some quests in the Cape of Stranglethorn. I was working with the Bloodsails.. And I was sent to kill some Ninjas.. I picked it up off of the Isle.. The one with the large monkey.

Anyone else here think this should be a Purple or at the very least Blue item rather than White (Common) given it's low drop rate ? --- Clearly this is not a "Common" item, which I almost discarded had I had my junk plugin enabled (junks grey/white crap -- except cloth/mats)

So I was standing by 怯懦的克羅斯比 with my 84 level mage, waiting for him to restock the Admiral's Hat recipe. Got bored quite quickly, so why not kill some pirates? On my third kill, this pet drops, leaving me speechless, as I see now that it has an
extremely low drop rate. Quite lucky someone might add :)
