I would have appreciated some extra crit on these to go with the extra attack power...@80, +15 crit rating is not going to go very far at all, and you would have figured that blizzard would have made the profession exclusive a bit nicer; I mean, an extra 60 attack power is nice, but it's not THAT nice.

can anyone confirm whether or not you are able to get this, untrain inscription and still be able to apply the enchantment to your item?

There doesn't appear to be a level or gear restriction on the inscriptions so I'm wondering whether I could level Inscription on my Death Knight even before I reach level 70 to 400 Inscription to have this shoulder enchant early?

You can train cooking, fishing early, but are the crafting professions limited to level 70?

Your forgetting the most important thing. This is one less rep grind you will have to do and the Sons of Hodir Rep grind is extremely time consuming to exalted.

Well, from my point of view, the +64 Ap compared to the normal "glyph" is the Ap an enchanter would get by enchanting both his rings with +32 Ap :P

This is one of the generic physical damage profession "bonuses" which gives around 64 additional attack power over the standard enchant.

Inscription: Shoulder enchant Master's Inscription of the Axe - grants an additional 64 attack power.
Enchanting: Enchant Rings (Assaultx2) Which gives 64 Attack power.
Leatherworking: Fur Lining - Which gives 64 additional attack power over the standard bracer enchant.
Blacksmithing: Socket Bracer and Socket Gloves which can allow you to socket 2 additional Bright Scarlet Ruby for 64 attack power.
JewelCrafting: you can make 3 unique gems Bright Dragon's Eye which gives you 66 additional Attack power over the conventional ones.
Tailoring: Cloak Enchant - Swordguard Embroidery - this comes out to around 58attack power according to EJ but how much of an upgrade this is is another matter.

Alchemy: Mixology which increases the effect of Flask of Endless Rage by 64 attack power, as well as doubling the duration.
Herbalism: Fire Leaf used once a minute results with an average of 66.7 attack power, unless you're a Warrior or Death Knight that caught the 30 second armor calculation at the wrong time. Then it's probably an attack power decrease.

Sadly, the use effect on Fire Leaf has been removed in the latest 3.0.8 PTR push.

In 3.2 all professions are buffed, so soon this enchant will add 120 attack power and 15 critical strike rating.

@Dole: That is irrelevant!
What matters is the increase over someone who does not have the profession. For example:
Blacksmithing gives 2 extra gem slots. Bold Cardinal Ruby (x2) = 40 Strength = 80 attack power(plus some Block) that non-blacksmiths can not have.
(If your class doesn't get 2 attack power from Strength, then socket a different gem!)
(In this case, pairing Jewelcrafting with Blacksmithing does not help because Jewelcrafer only gems are Unique-Equip(3))
Inscription gives 120 attack power and 15 critical strike rating(Master's Inscription of the Axe) MINUS 40 attack power and 15 critical strike rating that anyone can have(Greater Inscription of the Axe) = 80 attack power that non-inscribers can not have.
shoggy got it right, except the exact numbers have changed since patch 3.2.0.

From the comments above this might be a bug, but I managed to apply this to my BoA shoulders, haven't tried sending them in mail, but the character that applied it is level 66 so will be using them for levelling anyway

If you're wondering if you can put on an inscription, then drop the Inscription profession, you can't. Took one for the team to find out. Sorry, twinks.
