As a result of this new pattern, the base green gems (blood garnet, deep peridot, azure moonstone, shadow draenite, golden draenite & flame spessarite) have become sparse on the auction block & as result increased in value significantly. From an average of 50-80s to 2-4g a piece! This seems to be the case on all 3 realms I play on, hopefully prices will return to normal.

Seeing how this pattern requires 18 green gems to create a random blue gem, I don't see it being a money maker unless you can get the base gems VERY cheap. Even still you run the risk of getting a talasite or dawnstone which traditionally are valued at under 20g for their CUT counterparts & 10-15 uncut.

Well, 18 green gems turn into one blue, given an average blue value of 40g (Talasite sucks, Nightseye ~30g), that means each green gem should be worth >2g. This will probably stabilize as uncut red/orange/yellow 4-6g, blue/green/purple 1-2g, due to the much higher demand of the former when leveling.

There is a permanent minimum demand on greens now, so they will never be vendorable again. Blue prices may eventually drop as a result, but probably not until the badge gems become available.

A very significant consequence of this is Fel Iron Ore nearly doubling in value.

This is listed as turning green skill-wise at 365. I'm at 365 now and it's still yellow.
