This has been changed as of TBC. At level 280 BSing (im a lvl 70 warrior) i just went to her and asked her nicely (twice) to become a master hammersmith. She then granted me the skill. The quest is only necessary if you would like the plans for http://www.wowhead.com/?item=12824 . A very unexpected but nice surprise. Stormherald here i come!

which patch does the screenshot show?
because in my patch, 2.0.12, Lilith the Lithe dont give a free master hammersmithing skill..
neither the other master teacher.
are the completition of the quest needed as a requirement?

alright, i figured this out. you do NOT have to do any quests to be a weaponsmith. there are three things you need to know:-

FIRST -- the plans that the 3 NPC's offer to you ( axe, sword, hammer ) are just plans for you to acquire and learn, and will not grant you to be one of the weaponsmiths.

SECOND -- whatever smithing you want, you talk to that person and ask them nicely to become one. no clue if you have to pay a fee for that one.

THIRD -- if you ARE already a weaponsmith, for example, an axesmith. then you must talk to the troll whom is the axesmith master and click the second box which highlights as "wish to learn axesmith", you will have to pay 50 gold in advance! after you unlearned to be an axesmith, talk to either the hammersmith or swordsmith to learn one of the profession masteries.

aside from this, and i could be wrong on this part. if you are an armorsmith, and wish to learn a weaponsmith profession, then i believe you should talk to the person in IF in the center of the big forge and see if you can unlearn, if you want to switch from weaponsmith to armorsmith, then you should talk to the specified weaponsmith you are currently on and wish to unlearn it then go learn armorsmith. i have not read comments on this but this is just a-top of my head.

If you already have one of the weaponsmiths it will cost you 100g to unlearn it. So be careful what you pick.

Requires level 50 and blacksmithing of 250 to become a hammersmith.

I paid 100G to unlearn Master Swordsmithing... my spellbook still says I am a weaponsmith, so why can't I learn Master Hammersmithing? I ask Lilith, she says to ask her nicely... I do... then nothing.
What am I doing wrong?

Okay I did all the BS they asked for Lvl 70 Weaponsmith, Blacksmith @ 337 I learned the Hammersmithing but I also want to learn AXE and Swordsmithing too, but all they keep saying is just tell me and I'll teach you... They dont give me the option to click anywhere to learn it. is it possible to learn all 3 weapons Axe, Sword, Hammer?

Please help with this question thanks
