All Treasure Chests in Drustvar have a low % chance to drop an item named Ancient Pilgrimage Scrollcasing -- which starts this quest: The Great Sea Scrolls

I can now confirm that the scrolls drop from treasure chests in Kul Tiras. As an Alliance player, scrolls dropped at a far lower rate in Zandalar. Focus on Kul Tiras. The same might be the case vice versa with the Horde.

It took me 10 hours to loot all 11 Pilgrimage Scroll out of 70+ Tortollan Pilgrimage Scroll.

There is a chance that a Treasure Chest will have 1-3 Tortollan Pilgrimage Scroll. You need to click the Tortollan Pilgrimage Scroll to identify if it belongs to the Tortollan Pilgrimage scroll collection.

Not all Tortollan Pilgrimage Scroll drop Pilgrimage Scroll to give you credit toward the quest objectives. Mostly, you will loot trash Duplicate Pilgrimage Scroll. There is a low % drop chance that you get credit toward the 12/12 Pilgrimage Scrolls. Keep farming for treasure chests.

The quest turn in is at Seekers Vista (west coast of Stormsong Valley). Near Fort Daelin.

Rewards:

I talk about this quest, and have charted maps of each zone marking locations where I have found a treasure chest. The data spans weeks of exploration. The dots marking the locations don't mean you will find a treasure chest there. Just that it is a known spawn location.

It seems the best chance to get Tortollan Pilgrimage Scrolls (The Unidentified version) is from the Jani chests, for horde at least.

評論來自 Blankie

Most disappointing not giving any rep. The drop chance increased and the rewards for it decreased ( gives 250 aszurite instead of 500) since with the new patch, but still no reputation whatsoever? i regret wasting my time with this quest. For whoever reads this, the Tortollan reputation is the hardest reputation to grind.

Loot 遠古朝聖卷軸匣 from any Treasure chest in any BfA zone.
The item right now has high drop rate, so you will get it in your first 1-5 chests.
It starts the 無盡之海卷軸 quest.
The moment you get the quest, you also get your first 朝聖卷軸.
Collect 11 more Pilgrimage Scrolls from treasure chests all over the BfA zones.
Right now each treasure chest can drop 1-3 托爾托朝聖卷軸
And after use they can become 朝聖卷軸 or 複製的朝聖卷軸, so it is one more level of random

Treasure chests:
There are 3 main sources of treasure chests in BfA

Each zone has 10 treasure chests with predefined location and you can pick them only once

Treasures of Tiragarde Sound
Treasures of Stormsong Valley
Treasures of Drustvar
Treasures of Nazmir
Treasures of Vol'dun
Treasures of Zuldazar
Lots of random treasure chests all over the BfA locations
You can see some possible locations in the previous links under the spoilers, but they have random spawn, so not much use.
Same chest with same id can have 3-5 different spawn locations.
And i think that they are not personal
Several Jani's Stash's related to the 聽見嘿嘿的聲音 achievement

Here is basic demo video of the quest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9b-hzUvYYo

If you intend to level 110-120 by questing, there's little reason to push this quest for it's own sake. Just open all treasure chests that you encounter and you'll eventually finish this quest.

Quest Turn in Grants 150 Azerite and 1000 Rep + Armor Piece

評論來自 Lyariana

I got this off the second treasure chest I opened. My buddy didn't, so I shared it with him, and he could accept it. He was going to get it anyway, but now we can find the treasure chests together =)

評論來自 Tektonic

I received 1-2 scrolls from about 80% of the treasures I opened.

100% of the scrolls I opened were pilgrimage scrolls (not 1 duplicate).

The hand-in location for Horde (couldn't find this answer anywhere) is in Zuldazar at Scaletrader Post (wp: 71.5, 30.35)

評論來自 Habu64

When working on this, you might want to keep in mind that turning in quests that provide Azerite Armor might double up your reward and waste a higher level slot.

As a druid, I took a hood option when turning in Storm's End only to find out right after that I had this to turn in...

Good quest to go for if you are looking for 托爾托追尋者 reputation. Turning in this quest gives you 1000 reputation with this faction.

Took me 15 treasure chests to get all the scrolls.

Happy hunting!

Reference theory for those interested in such things:

The Great Sea Scrolls are a possible reference to the "Dead Sea Scrolls"

The Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in a series of twelve caves around the site known as Wadi Qumran near the Dead Sea in the West Bank (of the Jordan River) between 1946 and 1956 by Bedouin shepherds and a team of archaeologists.

To learn more about The Dead Sea Scrolls see: https://www.deadseascrolls.org.il/learn-about-the-scrolls/historical-background?locale=en_US

*Edit*

This post is a theory (hence I stated "a possible reference)
I am so sick to death of "insta-downvotes" with no explaination.
I have often contributed to the Wowhead community over the years with humorous and / or relevant posts and this new "insta-downvote" fad is puzzling at best.

End rant.

Re: The posting.

This "Theory" as to the reference here is quite valid.
Please explain downvotes or come up with:

A} Facts to refute this post. (In that case I will very happily delete it)

B} A better theory

No need to wait, it does not get upgraded with level, get the item when you complete the scrolls.

Can you do this quest more than once? Can you find another scrollcasing after you fill and turn in the quest for the original?

Edit: I'm guessing you only get this once. What makes me think that are the rewards you get (a nice head piece when leveling) and the fact I'm leveling about 10 toons in parallel and they've all only gotten it once. I'll come back here and change this if I see it again on a toon.

I did this quest without problems on Alliance. However on my Horde char I am stuck on 11/12 scrolls. I got quest pretty early when I started my first zone, Vol'dun. I am now finishing second zone, Zuldazar and I keep opening treasure chests but I am not getting any more scrolls.
Description says I should be getting scrolls from all over BfA zones, so I am not sure how to fix this issue.

評論來自 Himela

Where is the location for turning in this quest for alliance? I thought this would be the first issue to be addressed.

評論來自 Livewire2000

Well this is odd.. I have the quest on my hunter and instead of it giving a piece of azerite gear like it used to, I'm seeing it only rewarding a Glowing Azerite (350 AP). Was the reward changed/hotfixed for some reason?

I believe as of patch 8.1 the scroll from the chest has stopped spawning. My demon hunter has farmed around 20+ chest and as of January 5, 2019 has not gotten a scroll. No other mention of this happening to other, so maybe My character is broken. Sending in a ticket today to see why.

評論來自 Gunnarzson

This might not be true for everyone else, but i farmed probably 50+ treasure chests as a level 110 and did not get the quest. Once i hit 111 i got it from the very first chest i looted.

評論來自 theallien

do not abandon your quest! do not delete any of the scrolls, you will lose all of them you collected so far! be warned.

評論來自 catsniffer99

Is this no longer obtainable for 110s? I have been farming endlessly (50-60 chests) and cannot get the quest. The helm from this quest is BiS for my paladin twink. Would appreciate if anyone knew.

評論來自 1877774

For Those that are trying to get this for their speed set Druid. I Farmed 200 Chests with my EXP turned off and never got item. I even wrote a ticket to a GM asking about it and he said EXP turned off doesn't affect drop rate.

He doesn't know what he's talking about.

As everyone seen from their mains level 110-120 it dropped from their first few Treasure chests.

What you need to do is Spam General or Trade in a major city. Find someone with Quest. Offer some gold. 1-10k normally works. go to Stormwind and turn EXP back on and then have him share it.

IT WILL NOT LET YOU EXCEPT QUEST WITH EXP TURNED OFF!

That's it turned exp back off again go farm the 12 items and you got your Longstrider Azerite item and 3% more speed. :)

for what it's worth, I was 111 and did this and got the quest in my 1st chest looted and got the scrolls in my next few chests. as of april 2019

評論來自 FORSAKENPALADIN

Not sure if they buffed this quest or not but I got all 12 scrolls in less than 30 minutes.

評論來自 Septane70

At level 110 I scoured Kul Tiras opening every box I could find. I was getting close to leveling just from boxes and incidental mobs! Offered 1k gold to anyone who could share the quest. Finally got someone from my realm to group and share and it worked. Had some from other realms say they tried, but they may have been trolling hoping for some gold.

評論來自 Alcasczar

Can't start quest, it appears the drop rate of the quest from chests has been nerfed, 4 characters each got the item on the 1st or 2nd chest now working on a diff character and have opened 7 chests and the quest item is not dropping. Another blizzard bug or a nerf, :::::::FUN DETECTED::::::

評論來自 Ombree

Is that it or is there a follow up quest?

評論來自 viaduk

Omg that facking quest pop-up all time, I abandon quest but on next loot, boom, again. It so fracking disrupting when fff quest window appear and u cant decline it.

評論來自 lukesmithkaz

Shadowlands Pre-Patch: Either I'm extremely lucky or the drop rate on this is much better. If you have flying, chests around Kul Tiras are pretty abundant. It took me about an hour to get the quest start, but only about another hour to collect the remaining scrolls (as opposed to the ten hours someone said they spent farming).

2 things -

1. This quest is somewhat broken. It will function as planned for 99% of your characters. HOWEVER, it will bug out from time to time and you will get nothing but "duplicate" scrolls (trash).

2. IF this happens, I'm not sure of a fix but DO NOT delete the quest as you can never get it again.

I had put the first scroll in my bank because I wasn't doing BFA content at the time. Forgot to grab it before heading back into Nazmir. Every single scroll I found was a "duplicate". Went back and grabbed the first one from my bank but still every one I got was a duplicate and the quest never got past 1 scroll. I dropped the quest to see if it would reset and never got another scroll ever again. No helmet for me =(
