Soloed as level 93 hunter.

Wasn't that hard, but took some time. Had to keep reviving my pet, and then misdirecting\taunting again as he died every ~30sec.

Slivermaw had roughly 1 million HP.

Got 14x 頂尖水晶 and 1x 原始之魂 (It's common. Not rare.)

Slivermaw himself (herself?) is located in a cave on the wall when you face
the island from Rexxar and\or the flight master.

Priest and I were able to kill this guy. Being a fresh 100 squishy mage, I had some trouble tanking. Acid spit was un interruptable, but there was a barrage that we were able to silence.

Sat around for an hour 3 different times waiting for this guy to spawn. Haven't seen him yet :/

Edit: Been here 2 and a half hours, no spawn
Edit 2: Waited 3 hours and gave up. Checked back twice over the course of three hours. Checked back right after rolling server restarts 6 hours later. No luck.
Edit 3: Day three of hunting the elusive Slivermaw. Another 4 hours of camping with no site of the beast.

Been sat in this cave for 4hrs solid now....thank God I dual screen so could watch stuff on Netflix....still no spawn in those 4hrs. 5pm ->9pm UK time :(

People, he can only be seen and killed during the Assault on Darktide Roost daily from your Garrison. He does not spawn otherwise. Unless you're on this quest, do not waste your time!

He might have been hotfixed, because I killed him 7 times today. Respawn timer seems to be just about an hour no matter the time of day, I am not on any quests in Shadowmoon Valley at this time. With my item level 618 blood DK he's an absolute pushover - but he hasn't dropped the sword once so far.

Like others before me, I've been camping this mob for hours (companied by Netflix), usually about 3-4 hours at a time. Not even a sighting of the mob.

Not clear whether or not you need to be on 進攻暗潮棲息地 for him to spawn as I've had players claiming both.

Update pr 8th of December 2014:
Since I made the original post I've completed the Garrison Mission Assault on Darktide Roost (the mission, not the daily).
Today, "Assault" was also the daily of the day.

Camped the cave and Silvermaw spawned after ~20 minutes or so. No sword, but at least now I've seen the mob. :)

Update pr 10th of December 2014:
Gone back two more days now, each time waiting 2-3 hours before giving up. I have absolutely no idea on how and when this mob spawns. Maybe it has a slightly increased spawn-rate if the Assault isn't the daily?
I've been frequenting The Pit as well for 背叛者達茲格 (whenever that is the group daily as I can't solo him), and his spawn-rate seems to be around 15-20 minutes.
I camped 『盡噬者』赫昆 for 薩格萊嚙魂劍 and his spawntime was also around 10-15 mins.

I have the quest for the roost and slivermaw spawns every hour but he hasn't dropped the sword in 4 kills! Whats up with that?

I've noticed that both times I've encountered this rare, it was right after I mined the black rock ore that was in the back of the cave. Silvermaw spawned 2 times for me today with this method! I've already completed the Assault on Darktide Roost, so that's not a trigger for it!

Cave entrance is at 60.9, 87.0

It is quite close to ground level, maybe 15 yards above ground. You need to run up one piece of grass but don't start going halfway up the hillside or anything.

Has 2 abilities Acid Pool (little Pool of acid on the ground, stay out of it fire bad) and infectious bite which is a short debuff.

What i mostly see in this game and this goes back to previous expansions. The loot you want barely drops for the character you want it for. Including instances. I grind with my alts for gear that suits them, including this sword (transmo) but didnt got lucky.

I do it on my main rogue and the sword drops the 1st time. Yeah, very nice, but it basicly goes figurely in the trashcan. (read disenchant) thanks for soulbound useless items for your class.

Blizz should make this much more alt friendly with gear and weapons. Which means bind on equip on items from rares, no matter which one.

But it probably overload the auction house....

Killed him today but he was no longer flagged as a rare, just a beast. He dropped a primal spirit and thirteen apexis.

Confirmed cave entrance is at 60, 86 (for those without coordinates, it's basically just southwest of the R in word "Roost" on the map). The cave is on the 2nd level of the mountain, right next to a tree. Acid Spit and Silver Barrage are both able to be interrupted. Stay out of the acid on the ground & you should have no problem. I killed him easily on my Guardian Druid with ilvl619 gear. He dropped the listed loot as well as 11 Apexis Crystals.

I've been killing this guy a few times over the past few days, I've noticed he regains his "rare" status at the beginning of every day. I'm not sure if this affects him dropping his weapon or not, but I assume it does, and I'm not just unusually unlucky.

Stand next to the flight master, and turn to face the hill. You are looking straight at the cave entrance. Can't miss it.

Was looking for a transmog 2H for my DK, I have the old Deathbone set. Randomly found this sword in Mogit. Came here, the comments seemed daunting...easy to kill, but terrible luck on the drop. Thankfully I got it my first try. I have the BS-crafted great axe already, so I won't be using this, but it is definitely a really nice sword.

As with many rares, he's not hard to kill if you follow basic tactics.

Once he starts casting 酸液噴射, start moving so you don't end up in the middle of the puddle.
Keep an interrupt handy for 裂片轟炸 as this can really hurt. I guess pet classes have less to worry about.

He hits about 8-10k on a fresh 100 ilvl612 warrior (fury/battle stance)

Killing him/her also counts towards Assault on Darktide Roost, stumbled upon the cave after seeing the icon on the minimap showing a rare was there while doing my daily rounds. Dropped 2 Primal Spirits and 11 Apexis Crystals for me.

killed him 3 times on Underbog US.
helped a shaman kill him, came back 30 minutes later and waiting about another 10 minutes before it respawned again.

Second time around, no rare frame, and all it dropped was apexis crap.

3rd time, droped apexis and primals.

total time between kills, 40 minute wait each respawn.
