I got this out of a Crate of Tol'vir Archaeology Fragments. I'd assume, given that and it's name you might be able to dig it up while at an archeology digsite as well. Rank in the Brawlers Guild doesn't matter either as I was only rank 2 when I found it.

Edit: It also seems that you can keep getting it after you turn in the quest it gives. I got another one out of a crate of Tol'vir Archaeology Fragments and kept digging them up while I was doing Tol'vir digsites. You can't start the quest again if you have already completed it, so my first reaction was to delete it. However it is unique meaning if you hold onto it while your digging in Tol'vir digsites, it won't keep popping up on you.

Turning this in allowed me to fight Mingus Diggs, rewards were a blue shirt, a sack of coins, and 50 valor. I couldn't find any info on Mingus Diggs yet so when I tried him out I promptly had my ass handed to me.

You have to be at least 450 in Archaeology to get this.

The Tol'Vir Digsites only spawn in Uldum.

Took roughly about 100 Fragments before I got it.

Obtained Digmaster's Earthblade from Crate of Tol'vir Archaeology Fragments purchased from Brann Bronzebeard., the Digmaster's Earthblade is a Quest item which you turn into Card Trader Ami in the Brawler's Arena, Turning it in Opens the Quest Mingus Diggs

for defeating him and turning in Quest you get 50 Valor, a shirt called Digmaster's bodysleeve, and a Gigantic sack of coins

Has anyone gotten this from a NON Tol'vir digsite? I'm digging in Pandaria (Mogu mostly due to having all Pandaren rares), and because so many people got from Tol'vir, I'm putting all fragments into Tol'vir crates.

Edit: Alright, just got mine from a Tol'vir crate, after ONLY arching in Pandaria (all 3 races). Took about 20-25 crates til I got mine, so I can't confirm if it's Tol'vir only, but it's definitely confirmed that Tol'vir (both digsites AND crates) can work.

Does it still drop from crates? Looted ~100 Tol'vir crates - no drop.
Upd. Finally got drop at ~400 crate. Either bad luck or drop nerfed.

So I ended up opening over 100 tol'vir crates and gave up. Then I went to the brawlers arena and apparently I already had this quest completed. I don't know if this affected the drop rate of the earthblade.

Can confirm this still drops. After leveling archaeology from 1-600 in Draenor, and opening around 40 crates (bought from Grakis in Stormshield) it dropped for me.

It would seem that my Blood-Soaked invitation from the "old" Brawlers Guild is no longer any good and I need a new one. Brawler's Guild invitations have reset. A good place to farm the invitation is from the elites in Shield's Rest in Stormheim.

This item turning "grey" is normally a dead giveaway they it is not used in the game anymore. I had the Dusty Old Robot, Digmaster's Earthblade, and Impeccably Sharp Tooth in my bags for a long time. The quests were no longer in my quest log. Just to be sure, I headed back anyway to see if I could get any thing out of these items. No quest givers in sight and the Card Trader Lelia didn't have anything to sell.

My Challenge Card: The Bear and the Lady Fair (Rank 6) is NOT grey. So, I will hold on to these items until I get another Blood-Soaked invitation and see if they can be still be used.

Bizmo's Brawlpub Bouncer says: You want to fight? You're gonna need an invite. You're welcome to watch,though.

Item is still in-game, but currently no longer in use. The Gray quality is a small hint at that. This item was used for Brawler's Guild Season 2 exclusively. We are currently on Season 3.

I thought someone might want to know it is still dropping this late in the Shadowlands expansion.
A few more curious facts:
I've been playing since before BC came out,
have always had max on my Archaeology since it was added in Cataclysm,
have traded multiple crates over the years for Tol'vir crates to solve artifacts asap in hopes of getting Canopic Jars since I am still trying to get the Recipe: Vial of the Sands for Alchemy which has never dropped for me,
and through all of that, in July of 2021, I see the first of these I have ever seen so came here to see what it was.

Got it from 博學者達莉諾絲 in 達拉然 buying the 托維爾考古學碎片箱.

The item is gray and not usable; if you try starting the quest a message in the chatbox will appear saying "You don't meet the requirements for that quest."

Day 3,949.
I found this shovel in the desert. I had just completed a dig and there it was. I took to many vendors world wide, but no one wanted it for anything.
Lastly, I brought it to some panda folk I knew back in the old days. They shouted and told me leave and that accursed shovel with me. They did however show great interest with all the other little artifacts and trinkets I had dug up. We bargained for a bit and I got some pieces and fragments of the Tol'vir people a cat like humanoid that once ruled the desert. For these I can use to solve of the greatest mysteries of all the ~~world~~ Azeroth.
I am going to hang onto this little shovel. So no other little shovels feel lost.
And it's quite unique perhaps one day it will be useful.
