Well, yesterday, I got distracted towards the end of my dailies, and I ended up finishing my last one (the one awarding the trove) but not turning it in. Needless to say I was pretty upset when I logged in this afternoon to see it still in my quest log.

Fortunately, I was able to turn it in, and then finish all of today's dailies as well -- including the one that rewards the trove!

just a quick tip regarding these (Arcane Trove) and the 幸運寶箱

if you hit the cap (elder charms of good fortune) its a good idea to keep the chest along with the coin inside it.

Since the chests are soulbound but not unique -

Technically because you haven't looted it, you haven't hit the cap so can keep a couple of these in your bags to loot at a later time :D

Currently in live, in regards to general rewards Blizzard seems to favor players doing PvE over PvP, even considering they take longer. This is because PvE will rewards you with more rep, more charms and more gold, yet... also one of these extra if you have Stage 4 or futher unlocked on your realm because you will be able to do 朝熔爐前進! next to the boss kill quest, netting two Troves. PvP will be limited to 高度認可 regardless of progression.

I am a PvE player, and I also do know PvE dailies takes longer so there is some logical reasoning to it, yet when I am valor capped I see no reason to keep doing PvE dailies except for the Arcane Trove due to the chance of getting a 雷神皇宮鑰匙. I think Blizz somewhere in development intended to give PvPers more Troves: 秘法珍寶 is a non-live seperate item rewarded from 'PvE stage' dailies as well as the possibility Alliance Quest Choice: PvE was going live as you unlocked more stages.

TL;DR, in the current build, players doing PvP dailies will receive one less Trove than the PvE players as long as Stage 4 or further is unlocked.

EDIT: seems like this was hotfixed in sometime or I just plain missed it, this is actually shown when you choose between PvE or PvP dailies: 2 Troves for PvE, 1 for PvP.

When you do your dailies and receive an arcane trove do NOT open it if you already have a key already in your bags, use your key first and then you have a chance to find another key inside the arcane trove. Happened to me to find a key inside several times, hope it helps :)

As a bored 100, I've gotten prone to checking out old content as the winding down of the expansion beings. I made my way over to the Isle of Thunder and ran a few dailies. Imagine by surprise, when a 雷神皇宮鑰匙 was in the bag. I thought for sure they were removed from the game after MOP.

The excitement I felt was probably more excitement than I've felt for the majority of WOD as a whole. I was never very good at the Trove run, but I enjoyed it. It was mindless fun that for once a week during MOP, I could partake in without some ulterior Blizz motive or larger game agenda. This was not the usual MMO "carrot on a stick" quest.

You got a key. You ran a 5-minute scenario. You walked away with some charms, some gold, maybe some gear items.

More mindless fun please Blizz. I miss it.

EDIT: I've been doing this off and on since my original post and have narrowed this down to the best possibilities for obtaining the key:

1. The 雷神皇宮鑰匙 seems to only drop from the 秘法珍寶.
2. I've had it drop from the 秘法珍寶 either gained from the dailies or from purchasing via elder charms, so both can work.
3. I haven't seen it drop from the 雷王的珍寶 or any of the rares. (inc. Haqin, Vu and Deng.)
4. In fact, killing the rares or opening the 雷王的珍寶 first, will flag your "key quest" as complete.
5. As a result, run the dailies or open as many arcane troves that you plan on that day, before killing rares or opening a 雷王的珍寶.
5. Use macro seen here Loot Room Key Tracking Quest to see if you've "completed" the key for the week. If you have and that's all you're after, don't bother with anything else. If the Macro shows the key quest as "complete", you cannot get the key to potentially drop again until the next server reset.

This still doesn't guarantee a drop like it did during MOP, but I've probably managed one a month since the original post. I wish they'd just add it back, but seeing as how it's about to be 2 expacs old, I suspect they won't.
