The new Bind to Account bow, the 戰毀上古骨弓, replaces the previous 魅惑的上古骨弓. You will need 3500 Justice Points and the 魅惑的上古骨弓 in your bags. Please note, however, that the updated version does not increase any stats for the levels of 1-80, but instead the new mace continues scaling past level 80 to level 85.

You will, of course, need to enchant the new bow since the previous bow has been destroyed in the purchasing process.

I know some people feel that Bind to Account weapons are unnecessary in the leveling grind, since they do not offer an experience bonus; but you have to remember that, when you are able to kill the creatures swiftly, you will go through the majority of quests and dungeons at an increased rate, which directly transfers to a quicker leveling process! The fact that this particular weapon scales through 80-85 will allow you to get through the Cataclysm zones without much hassle or need to search for a new weapon until level 86!

Upgrade this BEFORE Enchanting!
Otherwise you will lose your expensive heirloom enchant on your Lvl 1-80 weapon :-(

This bow is a huge disappointment. I've used the non-upgraded (1-to-80 version) happily until I've graduated Northrend, and actually postponed levelling my hunter furthermore until I could afford the upgrade - on a server where I don't have a "main" as well, so I put a lot of Darkmoon effort into it.

Now that my upgraded weapon was at hand, I raced into the new zones, and was furious that one of the first quests that I obtained from the very first Cata zone I went into, Hyjal, awarded me Front-Line Blunderbuss.

At level 80, current dps of the War-Torn Ancient Bone Bow is 251.00, as reported by its tooltip, and is merely the half of Front-Line Blunderbuss.

Just to let everyone know before upgrading this piece, it will be inferior to the Cata items you will easily get. I hope things will change in a level or two... I understand that heirlooms would not be better than the blues you may obtain along the way, but come on this is the green newbie gun that you obtain 15 minutes into the zone

Edit: A bit better at level 81, now the dps of the Heirloom is 597, slightly better than the first quest gun

As of 5.4 you can add a Gnomish X-Ray Scope to this. At level 12 my hunter was getting a 300 attack power buff from the scope.

I only wish they would have included something for the 85-90 slot.

That being said this is a fantastic bow and can be obtained even F2P accounts thanks to Darkmoon Faire.

Even F2P accounts have access to this thanks to Darkmoon Faire. It will cost a grand total of 224 Darkmoon Prize Tickets. It is 160 for the 魅惑的上古骨弓 and then an additional 64 and the 魅惑的上古骨弓 to get 戰毀上古骨弓.

This may take a few months of doing the dailies and other quest that Darkmoon Faire offers, but it will be well worth the effort especially when you do move from F2P to a paid account.

As of 5.4 you can now use all weapon enchants. At lower levels enchants scale down for the content a player will be going through so high level enchants will not be broken for pve and pvp content alike. If you have the cash to spend, you're better off buying 沛納提的苦行手槍 than upgrading your heirloom bow to 85.

Here is a side-by-side comparison of the 戰毀上古骨弓 at its maximum stats at level 85 vs. the 沛納提的苦行手槍, equippable at level 80. So the heirloom makes an even poorer showing sub-85.

Slap a 地精X光瞄準鏡 on it and you're set to melt enemies in PVE and PVP.

The heirloom bow's sole advantage is that you don't have to spend gold (or get insanely lucky with drops) to procure it and are able to recycle it over and over.
