Many Pandaria Daily quests now reward 2 of these each, along with 5 valor points.

Edit: I cant say for sure on all of them, but if the Daily gave 5 VP earlier in the MoP Beta, it likely gives 2 coins and 5 VP now.

Edit#2: As of the August 8th&10th beta patches, Tillers Daily quests and the random cooking daily at halfhill now award 1 coin, along with 5 valor each. Other faction dailies still award 2 coins and 5 valor. Order of the Cloud Serpent dailies give 1 coin along with the 5 valor.

90 of them can be used to make three Elder Charms of Good Fortune. This is possible via a quest in the capital of your faction in the vale of eternal blossoms.
The lesser charms are a reward for almost all high-level daily quests in Pandaria (always one or two per quest).

Elder Charms let you do an additional "roll" on the loot of a raidboss. This will always give you some additional gold and sometimes also gems and flasks OR additional epic loot from this boss (depending on your class and spec)! And the best of this is...no other player can roll on it :)
You can use the elder charms on every raidboss, indepent from the instance mode. You can even use them on the loot of world bosses like the Sha of Anger or Galleon!

The loot you receive should be based on the specc you had when the boss was killed. However, there seem to be minor bugs so that you get an item for a different specc (healing gear for a shadowpriest, DPS-items for a tank and so on). Please report these bugs to Blizzard so they can fix it.

You should always change the lesser charms into elder ones as they serve no other purpose.

Good news everyone! Ghostcrawler just twittered that the lesser charms of good fortune will be listed under the curreny tab with Patch 5.1! This means you'll no longer have dozens of stacks of the charms in your inventory! The change is now active on the PTR and will be most likely the same when the patch goes live.

Lesser Charm of Good Fortune is obtained by doing THESE high level daily quest.

Theres a weekly quest, what requires 90 of these coins:

-Alliance Elder Charms of Good Fortune
-Horde Elder Charms of Good Fortune

Obtaining 90 of Lesser Charm of Good Fortune and completing the quest, will reward you with:

- Elder Charm of Good Fortune

This Charm is can be used in every kind of raid (Raid Finder,Normal,Heroic).
If you have any on these charm, a new window will pop up, what will ask you want to spend a charm for roll bonus. That not means, you have more chance to win, if you click yes, you'll instantly get another shot at the boss loot table. You'll always will get something like: Gold,Gem or Flask.

Suddenly rather useless to get as much coins as possible, considering you can only turn in 90 Lesser Charms per week. Grinding as much dailys as possible will not help you get more Elder Charms at all, just more Lesser Charms that you can hang on to, to not have to grind daily's later on in a tier.

The first time I turned these in, I found it rather odd that these are classified as rare (blue), and yet the Elder Charm of Good Fortune we get in return are only green (uncommon)? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

I find it very interesting that the Lesser Charms grant your 3 Elder Charms but you can only carry 10 Elder Charms at one time.... it would seem more logical for the Elder Charm cap to be either 9 or 12 would it not?

I hope they allow the lesser ones to be used in 5man heroics. Right now the weekly quest isn't really enough to stop the influx, especially since the Elder charms are limited to 10.

Would also help with the mass amount of ninja'ing that happens with certain items (such as the Ooken Slicer and flask cloak in the brewery dungeon often enough)

these are not designed well, with doing turn in every week i have 2 full stacks and a partial and bank and a partial stack in my bags. they need some sort of charm dump like they did with jp and honor trade goods, not the best way to get trade goods but made them have a purpose when you didnt need any

I turned in 3 fishing quest drop dailies (10/19) that I did not get the lesser charm of good fortune. My chat log indicated I received 1 for each quest turn in. But my total lesser charm of good fortune remained the same as before.
I have 89 and my total should be 92. I got the quest completion indicator for the quest "Elder charms of good fortune" but can not complete the turn in for it.

Today 10/23 I had the same issue turning in 3 Order of the Cloud Serpent quests. Chat log indicated I received 1 for each quest but my total of 25 remained the same when it should be 28.

Logged out, disabled all addons, re-log with no change.

Anyone have the same issue ?

I am a bit confused on this, I currently have 299 of these things and at least once a week I come to the Summer Terrace at the Shrine and try to turn these in to Elder Lin and I am not able to. If this is a once a week turn in why is this not working for me? There was only one time she had a yellow question mark above her head and I was able to get 3. But now it seems they are accumulating but I am unable to turn in for the gold coins.

i am also having the same issue as gongarock. my 1st alt had no problem, but my 2nd is stuck at 89 and is not receiving any more lesser charms, so i cant complete the first quest turnin.

Charms
While Charms won’t be converted, Lesser Charms of Good Fortune will no longer be used to purchase Elder Charms in patch 5.2. Instead Lesser Charms will purchase Mogu Runes of Fate. They’ll be purchasable in the same way; once a week, 90 Lesser Charms can be converted to 3 Mogu Runes of Fate via a quest in your faction’s Shrine. Mogu Runes of Fate will be usable for bonus rolls on 5.2 raid and world bosses only. Elder Charms will continue to be used for bonus rolls on 5.0 raids and world bosses, and will now be acquired as item drops by killing enemies in the new 5.2 Thundering Isle outdoor zone.

Just in case anyone was curious, it would take 32 years, 2 month, and 24 days worth of dailies to reach the cap of one million of these (as set in patch 5.1). This is based on the 85 coins a day max that Tenkich crunched the numbers on.

Just in case someone was foolish enough to want to try to reach the cap...

Edit: As of patch 5.2, this is now out of date, as the cap was removed. Also, there's several more dailies, which would probably have shaved a couple years off of my estimated time.

From an hour and a half of rare farming, it seems MoP world rares drop between 1-4 charms depending on level. Isle of Thunder rares also drop charms.

3 Jade Forst kills: all 1 charm.
1 Krasarang kill: dropped 1 charm.
3 Four Winds kills: both 2 charms.
1 Kun-lai kill: dropped 3 charms.
4 Townlong kills: one dropped 2 charms, three dropped 3 charms.
5 Dread Wastes kills: Three dropped 3 charms, two dropped 4 charms.
2 Vale kill: one dropped 4 charms, Major Nanners dropped.. 2 charms...
2 IoT kill: both dropped 3 charms.

You can check this guide to see which dailies are the most effective to farm your 0 次級好運符咒.

At the moment it seems that the fastest way requires 37 minutes of your time to get 0 次級好運符咒 for the weekly (A) 戰鑄徽印 / (H) 戰鑄徽印.

Making them currency seems to be a real blunder. It would be nice if we could vend them for 15 or 20 silver each, or sell then to other players for 10 or 15 silver.

I have not found a way to purge them from currency so they will simply continue to accumulate with no end in sight. What happens when you accumulate tens of thousands of them. I hope that in some future expansion a provision is made to give them some value or allow us to sell them. would it make sense to make them saleable in lots of 1000 or more.

We should be able to trade for elder charms and mogu charms every week. What's the point of adding more and more ways to get lesser charms when all you can do with them is buy mogu charms? I have like 2,000+ saved up now with nothing to do with them besides the mogu weekly.

Or anything at all really. Spirits of harmony, JP... anything.

I'd recommend farming atleast 1600 of these before 5.4

You can have 10,000 max.Easiest way to farm would be to get a group of 40 people - (if you look on openraid.us/chat) there should be a group going all times of the day.Just farm for awhile and can get up to 500 an hour.

I found one of the best ways to acquire these other then killing mobs on timeless Isle. Is use the shrine just before the bridge to Ordos and open those chest.

Usually end up with 30 or so for 1m of time, very useful if you have multiple alts such as me

When you hit 90, you will be happy if you can turn it in for 3 seals.
In your later 90, you will have thousands of charms just like me. For nothing.
Blizzard should make some vendor where you can purchase something like... Justice Points.. at least.

If you're looking for the upgrade vendor that will accept your Lesser Charms, it is Voidbinder Lunshur in the Ethereal Corridor of Shrine of the Seven Stars (for Alliance). There is no longer a guy in Stormwind who does the upgrades.
