An interesting item added in MoP, in part due to the associated achievement.

The achievement Polyformic Acid Trip (which is also at the time of this writing not fully implemented) suggests that it's either available to everyone. Blizzard basically hasn't given out achievements requiring you to be a specific class or requiring a specific primary profession so it's moderately safe to assume you get it some other way.

As it stands now all we can surmise is that the Polyformic Acid Vials have 3 uses (see here, here, and here) and will probably transform you into some other form which is combat capable.

When you kill 史雷特教授, you can loot an 空的變體蟻酸瓶. Click the Polyformic Acid Potion that is on the nearby table and you'll get the disguise 變體蟻酸藥水 applied to you for one hour (it persists through death). Now, you can use the Empty Vial you looted to "store" your disguise creating a 幾乎裝滿的變體蟻酸瓶. If you later use this vial, you re-gain the disguise and get replacement Empty Vial. This process effectively gives you 3 uses because each time you store and release the disguise, it becomes less effective (as it becomes 半滿的變體蟻酸瓶 and then 幾乎用完的變體蟻酸瓶) and you're eventually left with an Empty Vial and no disguise.

The best way to use this is to get one disguise and store it for later, and then get a fresh disguise by clicking the Potion on the table. This will give you a 60-minute disguise to use in the instance, plus 3 additional uses after you leave the instance with your 幾乎裝滿的變體蟻酸瓶.

Players can use this disguise to achieve 變體蟻酸科學 by killing the six listed bosses around Pandaria while under the effects of it. The disguise is available in any dungeon mode (including the normal level 40-ish version for you solo types).

I took a tour of Scholo after 5.0.4 hit to see the changes, and came across this lovely little item. Having now tested it out a bit since obtaining it:

*If you include the initial transformation that happens when you first use the vial, you get 4 transformations total (the use of the object in Scholo, then 3 uses of the vial in your bag)
*You're transformed into Professor Slate, who is a named enemy NPC in the room where you find the vial. He's an undead male with a slightly larger model than usual.
*As he's just a usual undead model, there are no issues with mounting like there are with some other transformations.
*The transformation effect persists through death, and in a level 85 raid (Dragon Soul) whatever the 'unstable side effects upon death' seemed to be negligible, if there even were side effects.
*As you can probably guess from the timing of this post, you can obtain it from normal Scholo which I believe is a low-40's dungeon these days.

All in all, I love the prospect of being able to transform into this while partying and raiding, and I'm looking forward to many a guild-first raid boss screenshot with all of us transformed into Slate.

I have a "fun bar" on my screen with my favorite vanity useables on it, in order to easly use the potion in all three states you could use the macro below, when you click it you use the potion if there is some acid left in it.

To get this item you must kill Professor Slate in Scholomance. He is after the 4th boss and before the last boss in the classroom. After you kill him you will loot an Empty Polyformic Acid Vial (Only one person in the party will get this) and see a sparkling potion on the table he was standing next to. Click on the sparkling potion and it will transform you. Use the Empty Polyformic Acid Vial to store the costume and change it into Nearly Full Vial of Polyformic Acid.

Now when you use that it will change it back into an Empty Polyformic Acid Vial and give you the costume for another hour. You can then click on the Empty Polyformic Acid Vial again to store with a reduced amount. You will get a Half Full Vial of Polyformic Acid.

At this point you can go back through Scholomance, kill Professor Slate and loot another Empty Polyformic Acid Vial. Repeat what you did to get your first vial and you will have another Nearly Full Vial of Polyformic Acid!

This gives you five total charges that you can save up and use all over the place. Theoretically you should be able to store up to 6 charges over 3 vials by doing the above an extra time. You could have a Nearly Full Vial of Polyformic Acid, Half Full Vial of Polyformic Acid, and a Nearly Empty Vial of Polyformic Acid

Takes a bit of work but for those that enjoy costumes that last a long time its a pretty cool trick. Would also be useful for that achievement I would imagine.

This item with Vrykul Drinking Horn gives a bigger mount than burgy hat in combination with Vrykul Drinking Horn.
