You can get Ice Chip in the bag, it is the new minipet from this boss. It summons a small frost elemental that shoots icebolts on its owner!

Make sure you have a lot of bag slots free.

I didn't receive my satchel because I got snowballs automatically from the boss dying. Those took priority over the satchel in my bags. Only received the gold.

edit* It automatically got sent in the mail after about 15 minutes. So don't be worried if you didn't have room like me.

Just to clarrify some confusion about rare drops from this.

The Frigid Frostling and the Frostscythe of Lord Ahune are the only rare items that have a chance of dropping from this bag as of Summer 2010. In addition, it has been confirmed by a familar Blue on the official forums (a blue we all know) that the Scorchling Pet is no longer obtainable... for now:

I'm uber happy that I got pet from this bag after 2nd day.
Day after I got weapon as well (both things I got on my main), too bad DK's can wear this badass weapon :(

Since Blizz implemented this sack thing, there is no way u can grind this (or any other seasinal loot) like we could before.
So all I can say to all of you there trying to get this things is GL!

I'm proud to say that I earned all the possible loot this year! My first bag drop contained the pet, my 5th contained the Frostscythe (which is of no use as I am a DK) and the enchant formula dropped off the 5th or 6th kill (in the chest).

I really hope I have this kind of luck when the later world events happen that have mounts!

All 3 items can drop from the same bag, i was just lucky enough to have that happen today.

(i have done it everyday, its the second time the Scythe drops for me, but i didn't have the pet yet.)

Before the torrents of people claiming to have gotten nothing from the bags. These will always contain justice points. But, since they are a non gold currency, they do not show up as loot in the bags, so you get the message saying there is no loot, when in fact you are getting the points (unless you are capped).

So far, I have looted 7 and 11 燃燒之花 from 冰寒寶物袋 on two seperate occations. Someone else have reported getting 13, so my guesstimate is that it can drop 7 / 9 / 11 / 13 燃燒之花 from one satchel.

I had one of these saved from 2010 on a paladin alt. It has a Frostscythe and an Ice Chip. I saved it in case they made them BoA (which they should), so I could give the extra pet to my main, who somehow managed to be the only character to never get either of the Midsummer pets. All my alts have both of them.

Anyway, I opened the bag this week (June 2011) and saw the there were now blossoms added, the Frostscythe was now the level 85 version and the pet was gone. I'm not sure if it's really gone or just not visible due to a change on the server-side, but unless they do make them BoA, I suppose it doesn't matter anyway.

Also, my rogue had a similar bag from the Hallow's End event with one of the THREE mounts that she got. I also saved this to pass to my main in the event that Blizzard smartens up and makes them BoA, but alas that mount vanished when I double-checked the bag as well.

I can confirm this:
If you have the scythe already and are worried that it will drop again but go away (along with its 41g vendor value) it will stay in teh bag.
If so, then i reccomend selling your original (unless it's enchanted) and take the new one.

Saving of bags for next seasons will no longer be possible as

We’re going to be applying a hotfix soon to remove holiday-specific bags when the holiday period ends. The specific bags in question are:

Loot-Filled Pumpkin (Hallow’s End)
Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest (Brewfest)
Satchel of Chilled Goods (Midsummer Fire Festival)
Heart-Shaped Box (Love is in the Air)

These bags will only exist while their holiday is active, and when the holiday ends they will be removed. This is to resolve an exploit revolving around keeping these bags beyond the holiday period to re-roll their contents.

You’ll want to be sure to open and remove the contents of any holiday bags before the holiday ends. If you still have any bags from previous holiday events they'll be removed when this hotfix goes live.

The irony of them making these satchels so that you dont farm a holiday boss for it's drops.. so that you instead have to run it on your 10 85s, daily, for a pet/mount.... does not escape me.

As of currently (4.3.3) the boss hasn't changed at all. He is still tuned for level 85's, but he resembles the first tier, as one year ago.
As such, his loot table hasnt changed either: he drops lvl 353 cloaks (which is a little bit laughable considering, that doing a simple questchain with Thrall in Hyjal you get an ilevel 365 one)
From the loot bag however the staff and the pet still drops, however rarely. One thing is certain: you get 24 jp (that is with the guild bonus) from the bag and guaranteed Burning Blossoms. Despite what wowhead currently says the Scythe still drops, I can confirm that. The pet however... it is listed as a 4% drop, but I have been arming that bastard for 3 years now, and still no luck. That is, with 4 lvl 85 chars every day.

Edit: the pet is confirmed to drop from multiply guildies, so yes, it is still available.
