The costume is a non equipped item with a 6 second cast time. The item itself has no cooldown, but it triggers a 1.5 sec global cooldown, and the effect is broken when you cast a spell, attack, eat food, or take damage.

When you jump, you flail around like a spasmodic rag doll, and every once in a while you wont quite stick your landing, and end up landing on your face.

The only emotes that function properly are waving and dancing. Running is excessively exaggerated. There are also unique movements when you stand idle. You cannot sit or lay down while in the costume, nor can you mount up.

All in all this thing is freaking hilarious and I love using it in the AH and outside of instances while waiting for raids to start.

I can't tell for the life of me why Blizzard has to go through such efforts to kill simple pleasures such as Murloc mounting. Is there any game-breaking things you can POSSIBLY do with it? And it's not as if the item is common, so few could exploit even if there was one.

Not sure if it's a bug or intentional by Blizz.

Noticed that once you are under the affects of the costume, your character becomes male...at least my F-Belf's emotes became the Male Bloodelf voice instead.

Playing around in the 2.2 PTR it looks like the Murloc costume will get some new emotes. It now has animations for: Laughing, sitting, and pointing.

1. Travel back in time to blizcon 07.
2. Buy one off a site (approx $500).
3. Convince Blizz that you are dying and need one.

The neutral quest Surrender... Not! grants you an identical murloc costume, except with a limit on where you can use it (a cave in the Borean Tundra only). Good to know if you want to play with the costume just to see what it's like.

when you use the murloc costume whilst riding in the sidecar of a Mechano Hog or Mekgineer's Chopper, it bugs slightly, and you end up standing ontop of the sidecar itself, isntead of sitting in it. This can ( and will ) lead to some hilarious moments, as your upper body will still contort and emote around, like for example, /cheer-ing while being driven around.

Also, using baby spice on a player with the murloc costume on, shrinks the player to pretty much the same size as a Murky/Gurky/Lurky vanity pet, if not slightly smaller.

And, if you're lucky enough to be able to set this up... get someone in the Murloc costume, with a baby murloc pet out, and use some pet biscuits on the baby murloc, and baby spice on the costume. Voila, something has gone very wrong with that picture :)

In 3.2.2 they ninja patched the Carved Ogre Idol to make it no longer a trinket and therefore it no longer takes up a slot. Anyone know if they did anything to this costume? Like make it in line with costumes like the ogre suit, Iron Dwarf or Deviate items where it persists in combat?

You can use flying mounts when you have the costume on.

To use ground mounts you need first mount with your ground mount and then use the costume.

I found a pretty fun "glitch"

1. Use Noggenfogger elixir until you get the shrink effect.
2. Mount up on a mount of your choice. (You might wanna dispell the skeleton effect if you have that on aswell).
3. Use the murloc costume. (Now you got a very tiny mount).
4. Start running and press auto-run. While you are running, dispell the Noggenfogger effect and Murloc costume effect. (Dont stop running)
5. Now you got a normal size mount, running at the same pace as the tiny one. Looks hilarious ^^

If you stop running it will reset to normal running pace. Also happens if you jump.
Have only tried with Black War Mammoth and Black War Bear, but im sure it works for all mounts.
Looks funnier with Crusader aura on :P
Have not tried to combine this with Pygmy Oil yet.

There seems to be some recent issue with 4.0.6 that causes you to not be able to mount as the murloc or to get off your mount when you try to be a murloc. This has always worked perfectly prior to 4.0.6.

When you wear the Murloc costume, don't forget to TALK like a Murloc: "Arrglobogloboglobo..." Then, flirt a hot human female (some sexy). Click her, type /flirt, trade her a bouquet of flowers, then talk with her: "Arrglobogloboglobo..." Repeat all :)

I just bought the card on ebay and redeemed it from the TCG website: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/en/promotion.html

It converted a numerical code into another numerical code which I used at Zas'Tysh, an NPC in Orgrimmar. Got the achievement and the toy! It has a one second cooldown, kind of a long cast when you activate it, and a 60 minute buff on you. Has unique sleep, sit, and dance animations. I'm not sure what else is unique but so far I dig it. I've always liked the high resolution textures on this Murloc Costume.
