I've had the full set for 2 weeks now, and loving every part of it. I currently have 2434 AP when my gun procs (don santos' hunting rifle) and can't complain about my crit which is 23%. This set is awesome (lacks hit rating but that is easily made up with other items ex. sonic spear).

Great set, lots of sockets for jagged talasite/smooth dawnstones =) (6 gem slots of the overall set pieces gives me +12 stam and +40 crit ).

If you want pure damage, you're better off ignoring the socket colors and sticking with, say, three red +16 Attack Power gems (Bright Living Ruby). Even using the highest crit gems (+8; blue) will not surpass the overall gain in DPS at 2500 ranged attack power.

im the one in the screenshots, i sit right around 2150 RAP self buffed(tsa/AotH), have been as high as 2600 RAP during Kara. like the guy above said, you're usually better off just ignoring the socket bonus and sticking in Bright Living Ruby's

I've done the math on my hunter and the crit gems are better than the agi or ap gems imo if youre going for crit chance, which i am. also the +20 hit rating bonus makes up for the lack of agi in the set. 1 agi point adds about .025 crit for me where as hit rating adds .046 crit. I dont have the numbers in front of me but the crit gem that fits yellow and blue is much better than the red and blue agi gem if youre going for crit chance.

Its constantly that issue about ap vs. crit.
Choose the one you like and stick with proper gems for that purpose. I went with ap gems as I intend to raid much. High burst damage is a lot more suitible for PvP imo.

good set has intel stam nd sockets, but lack agl, im not shoure if im right or not but i dont think crit chance adds to DPS and i know that agility does, if it does than this is a sick set, dont have it yet but i can make it, just waitin til 70

Ive just started with a shammmy im planning to have as main - And im leveling LW/skinning to get this set as soon as i ding 70.

Got 70warr and 70Spriest so im not new to the game.

What i dont understand is why ure socketing with AP and not STR?

Dosnt shammy get 2AP per str as warr and block value?

I socketed the BP with 3 +8 Str gems
The bracers I put the +4 crit +4 str gem in as it equates to more the socket bonus more than makes up for the slight ApEP loss from Str to Crit.
The also gemmed for the socket bonus, although its a much closer thing there, having to use a blue gem. I went with the crit/Str for yellow, and str/Stam for the blue.

Personally I like keeping my crit over 25% The change to mental quickness will probably requires some new theorycrafting to reweight the value of Str/ap to Agi/crit, but i dont see it changing that much, as shocks are usually under 10% of my damage.

thinking of grinding the season 1 PVP gear to start my PVE in (enhancement shaman is my alt - I raid on a mage). I dont have time to run tons of instances, I figured mixing the PVP gear with crafted epics would be more than enough to start.

Well, assuming that you socket Gladiator's Linked Armor with 2x Bold Living Ruby and an Inscribed Noble Topaz you've got a grand total of 49 Strength on that sucker for a total 98 AP;

Now consider Ebon Netherscale with 3x Bold Living Ruby for a grand total of 24 Strength or 48 AP. Add the 80 AP already on Ebon netherscale for a total of 128 AP. Now, Ebon Netherscale BP already has 31 crit rating, which is 5 less than the socketed Gladiator's Linked Armor.

IMO Ebon Netherscale BP > Gladiator's Linked Armor

PS. Take the math with a grain of salt, I flunked out of calculus last year.

What about Primastrike set (http://www.wowhead.com/?itemset=619 )?

I'm just trying to estimate what is better for hunter from these two sets. It looks like even with loosing some int and MP5, Primalstrike is still better since it has alot of AGI and AP, giving "flat" AP almost as twice as Netherscale set (that counts for Markman hunts) and also way better for Surv hunter, since Netherscale simply sucks for that build

This uses the "OutlandDarkPurple" colour variant of the Hunter 龍巡者胸甲.

The pieces of this colour that match this "set" are the Ebon Netherscale leatherworking crafted:
Chest: 黑虛空鱗胸甲
Wrists: 黑虛空鱗護腕
Waist: 黑虛空鱗腰帶
Also:
Shoulders: 龍震肩衛 from 館長
Legs: 神射手綴鱗護脛 from 毀滅領主卡札克

Sadly there's no helm to match in this particular colour. 莫卡爾的戰爭頭盔 and 潛獵者千里眼盔帽 both use the "OutlandRed" colour scheme, and 夢翼頭盔 uses "OutlandGreen".

I have also been unable to locate matching boots and gloves in this colour, but maybe I overlooked them.

Overall the existing set pieces look like this. It's a real shame there isn't a full set. :(

The pattern for this stopped being trainable/learnable when Blizz removed specialized leatherworking. At this point (5.1.0) it is not obtainable in-game, unless one had already learned it long ago.
