I dropped enchanting pre-expansion pack and picked up weaponsmithing because I'd seen this sword. I had it crafted and ready for me the day I hit 70, and it's a 10 DPS upgrade over anything else available to me. Probably cost me 900 gold in materials because I've been instancing and not mining very much, but now I'm 70 the money is flowing back in and I don't regret the cost for this weapon at all.

As a tank I like the fast speed, and as someone in a smaller, non-bleeding-edge guild, I like the fact that I can keep up (somewhat) with raiding gear. Producing my own weapons for raiding also helps keep the Rogues and other tanks happy -- one less person competing for drops.

i find it hard to use this wep for tanking cos of the lower damage.
i regret making it for my warrior esp for tanking. now its pretty much on my off hand when i farm. QQ i owe people primal mana..

Although its a very nice offhand for Rogues Latro's shifting sword is better DPS :/ perhaps though upgrades you will get more DPS but overall Latro's is the best offhand for Rogues.

The blade's called Fireguard....but crafting it involves no Primal Fire, and there's no passive "on equip" Fire Resistance. I feel Blizzard made an oversight!

Equivalent to King's Defender from KZ Chess event, lacks the King's + def and armour bonuses but has 15 Agility the Defender lacks...if you're in a smaller guild or simply don't have the time to raid, this is pretty much the only way to go for your weapon as a tank.

I happily switched to Swordsmith from Armoursmith to get it, and it means I can stop running Black Morass for Millennium Blade and/or Lahtro's Shifting Sword, neither of which ever seem to drop for me.

What kind of an enchant would be of interest to a 70 Protection Paladin on this weapon?

I am using it in a tank set, so adding INT to it would be a bit wrong I think, seeing as I have a seperate weapon for my healing set, that has the INT enchant on it.

Is Mongoose only useful for rogues?

The Mana Wraiths just outside of Area 52 are the best mobs in the game to farm for Motes of Mana. The drop rate is around 25%, and they're only level 67 or 68. It greatly helps to have a flying mount while farming them so you can fly across the ledges and not have to deal with the Earth elementals roaming the crevasses below.

As a level 70 warrior I farmed 5 primals per hour here, so it only took me about 4 hours to farm them all. Like someone said above, the Primal Shadows are dirt cheap, and the rest of the mats can be found pretty easily as well.

This weapon is great to have as an OH with http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29124#00z MH.
Both of these don't require much time at all, there's an upgrade for the OH with some heroic runs, and the Vindicators brand can be upgraded to http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30733#00Rz or http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28729 which are both pretty easy to obtain for any Kara clearing guild.

on my warrior i'd say that this is a great start and that it will be awesome to have better weapons than the other 70s with the all-glatiator sets. it will also be usfull because it will make rolling in raids not an object unless it is for armor or maybe the twin blades of azzinoth. the teir 3 of this weapon is at a stunning 95dps. it is also one of the top 1h weapons. im an arms warrior so im also going to get the master swordsmith 2h wepon, so i have a better farming and soloing wep.

I wanted to use it as mainhand and Latro's Shifting Sword as offhand, but actually the new dagger in mainhand is 2x better than Fireguard. I think this is one of the cheapest epic lvl70 items one can craft, I didn't have to farm a single primal upto this sword and makes a great offhand for a combat rogues or fury warriors.

Both a viable dps and tanking sword. If you've been unlucky and Suneater hasn't dropped in Heroic Mech for you or your guild isn't yet up to Chess in Karazhan this sword can still be very useful.
More dps than the quest blues you'll find at level 70, so more threat. 1.6 speed is excellent for heroic strike and therefore threat generation. 1% chance to hit is also useful for tanking, missing a shield slam especially early in a fight could be quite painful.
230 health and *about* 0.5% dodge, add an agility enchant on there and you've got yourself a fine tanking sword.

FYI everyone. Just finished talking to a GM regarding the specialization recipes for LW and BS. I'm only reporting on these as tail and alch still have their specializations. Supposedly most of these recipes are now available from vendors. The Gm would not tell me which were and which weren't or what kind of vendor to check with. But if anyone finds them please let the rest of us know about it.
