I chose this reward for dual wielding shaman. I upgraded from Grunt Waraxe which is too fast for Stormstrike. This weapon on the other hand has 2.5s speed which is better. I have seen a windfury crit of 1k with this and 1.2k AP. The only drawback is the bad graphic compared to other Ring of Blood reward. Also, fist weapon doesn't show when unsheathed.

http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29371 is a comparable green that can be purchased from a vendor. Although it has a little lower dps, the swing speed is slower and the damage range is higher, which is great for hemo rogues.

Got this as a replacement for Grun't Waraxe. I DW this with Dread Fangs on my enhance shaman. MUCH better than the Waraxe x2.

It really is sad how few decent weapons there are for enhancement shamans in the Burning Crusade area. The only decent ones (in comparison to other specs or classes) come from raids which the shaman has no reason to strive for, since at 70, they'll move right into Northrend and actually start getting decent weapons again.

Unfortunately, it seems like the best option for enhancement shamans without BoAs is just to suck it up and use green weapons from the AH or those you're lucky enough to pickup off mobs until you can get the heck out of Outland.

For all you folks looking to transmogrify one of these weapons I've looked through all of the weapons and assessed which weapon skins are available by means other than this quest. I have created a list in descending order from "Hardest" to "Easiest" to obtain. *

Staff of Beasts - IS A UNIQUE MODEL - There is currently no other weapon in the game available to players.
Honed Voidaxe - Has one lookalike from a quest in Netherstorm. *HOWEVER* This alternate is a ONE-HANDED AXE. This means you CANNOT transmogrify your two-handed axe with this weapon.
Ceremonial Warmaul Blood-Blade - One other weapon in the game shares this skin. It drops from Garr in Molten Core. Since its on a weekly lockout it may be a pain if you get an unlucky streak.
Battle Mage's Baton - Has one accessible lookalike in Normal Ramparts from Omor the Unscarred
Mogor's Anointing Club - Has 3 other lookalikes. The easiest of which may be from normal Blood Furnace.
Mag'hari Fury Brand - Has 6 other variations that are eligible for transmogrification and most of them are ridiculously easy to get including craft-able.

Conclusion: If you are capable and potentially could use a staff (caster/hunter/druid...warriors never use staffs) Staff of Beasts is a no-brainer as there is NO other source for this model.

Honed Voidaxe is another no-brainer depending on whether or not you use a two-handed weapon or one-handed weapon. If you have plans on using a two-handed axe you will NOT want to pass this up as the other weapon that shares its model is a ONE-HANDED axe.*

The only other model that may be a challenge to obtain is the Ceremonial Warmaul Blood-Blade, but is still obtainable outside of this quest. All others are easily obtainable by other means and can be passed up without loss of sleep.
