Yes, there a lot in the Hewn Bog, but not as many as you think. I was farming these for the pet, recipe, and tabard(42 spores). I am at 32 now, and it's been an hour. If you are going to farm these for the quartermaster or profit, your best bet is to check (36, 48). There are 4 or 5 on that island alone. They respawn in less than 10 minutes. Fly to around (32,42). Wherever you see ogres, there will be Glowcaps. Glowcaps can also drop from the ogres in the area, but it is a VERY low drop rate. Kill them if you want, but your best bet is to farm them the good ole fashioned way. I usually play with my graphics set on low for a high fps but for this task I made sure that I could see far into the distance. Glowcaps will have a giant orange light coming from their tops which is very easy to see if you fly around that area. Happy hunting!

Handing in 10 of these Glowcaps awards 700 rep with the Sporeggar. From Neutral to Friendly, I handed in 40 Glowcaps. I didn't try to see how far I could go with them but the blue question mark was still above his head so I'm guessing it's all the way to Exalted.

If you use the Carbonite addon (available from Carboniteaddon.com), even if you aren't an herbalist, you can right click on your map and select the "show" option from the list. A sublist will pop up. Click the "show herb locations" option and it will track glowcaps for you and show you where you find them at to make them easily locatable later :)

Has anyone else had them disappear out of inventory? I have been farming them for a few days while doing various quests because I knew I would need them when I got to Sporregar and when I got their they were gone. And I just had one disappear right out of my bag between the quest giver and going to get another quest. ?

They can be hard to see if you fly around on 280/310 mounts. I can recommend switching to your 'regular' ground mount, as the objects will have more time to load then.

You will need 10 x Glowcap to buy a Sporeggar TABARD, once you have reached Sporeggar=Exalted. You can buy tabard from many vendors , even the one in Stormwind, but normal currency is not accepted. Gotta be 10 x Glowcap.

I flew around hem/bow area for 10 minutes without seeing a single glowcap.. then i decided to patrol the same area with my ground mount and there they were. You won't be able to see them from the air so I recommend to just get on your ground mount. Happy Farming!

As has already been stated, unfortunately you cannot track these with herbalism, however, here are some tips I hope are helpful!
The Gatherer Addon will track them, so if you have already picked them, they will be visible on your map, or ask a guildie to send you their gathererables report.
I highly suggest turning down your ground clutter, this makes them a thousand times easier to see.
Also the zone with the Naga and Orcs in the west is very good for farming. I got 30 in 10 minutes or so for this little guy 小型孢子蝙蝠 :)

Best advice I can give for Glowcaps is to pick your favorite ground mount (whichever ones butt you don't mind starin at for a while) and keep your eyes on the base of the giant mushrooms and next to large clumps of things for the most part. Just run around like a crazy person who seems to have no idea where they're going. They're easy to spot as they "Glow". Best play I found them was on the edge of the big lake, but its always good to take a late night journey through so there's not as many others farming. I can also confirm they're only on the left side of the big lake in the middle, I checked the right for a while and could only find green glowing mushrooms you cant pick, I assume they're for a quest I already did or didn't do. For anyone that is still farming these for the companion and tabard. As of MoP (5.4) a lot of them can be found at the Ogre Camp at 35.10, 34.03. I went from 20 to 40 of them in around a minute.

Another good place to farm these is the Sporeggar Camp itself they have around 10 of these lying around their own town. 19.29, 50.62 for anyone not sure of the location.

Look for an orange spotlight looking mushroom on the ground. Find the first and then the rest are easier. Search in between Marshlight Lake and Serpent Lake. They are not indicated on your mini-map even if you are an Herbalist.

To get these to show up on your map and minimap whether you have herbalism or not, install the following two addons if they're not already installed.

Then, hit Escape and go to
Interface -> Addons tab -> Gathermate 2 -> Import -> check Treasure and press import. (If the import button is greyed out, type /reload to reload the UI.).

Secondly, go to Filters which is just above Import, select Herbalism tab and "Select None" so you can temporarily remove the clutter to only see Glowcaps and other treasures in Zangarmarsh. Repeat this for other node types if you're seeing anything on your map besides Glowcaps.

Patch 7.2.0 .. These can still be farmed to get the companion pet and the Tabard if u like. The are scattered all around the area. Make sure to look carefully next to the red/orange glowing mushrooms as they can easily be missed because of the similarity in glow color.

Unlike other nodes in World of Warcraft 白閃菇s can all be available at the same time so long as no one else is farming them. This means you can potentially collect close to 80 at a time. Since herbalism no longer allows us to track the nodes on our minimaps, I extracted the location of each one from the pins on the map. With an addon like Paste, they can be used in conjunction with TomTom to easily locate each node. Without the help of other players running the Wowhead addon, this would not have been possible, so hat's off to all of you.

白閃菇 is an item used as a currency for the faction 斯博格爾 and should never be vendored unless you are really sure you wont need it on any of your characters. It is too late to regret when the item is gone from the Buyback-tab.

Glowcap is an objective of the reputation quest 白閃菇 and the following repeatable 更多白閃菇. If you are highlevel, you should spare the Glowcaps and farm 深幽泥沼 for reputation instead. There you can also turn in easily obtainable 血紅木槿 completing 給我木槿花! at 塔蘇.

麥卡 sells for Glowcaps:

Alchemy recipes 配方：原始大地轉化原始之水 (25 Glowcaps - Revered) and 配方：漸隱藥水 (30 Glowcaps - Exalted)
Tailoring pattern 圖樣：麥卡的植物袋 (25 Glowcaps - Revered)
Companion 小型孢子蝙蝠 (30 Glowcaps - Exalted)

for those of you who are farming the rep for the sporeggar pet you can farm the Captured Firefly by killing the Bogflare Needlers they do have a 0.08% drop rate but by the time you get the Captured Firefly you will have plenty of glowcaps because they are plentiful where the Bogflare Needlers spawn.

Anyone coming to farm these to purchase recipes (specifically Alchemy) to make house decor mats, some notes:

-You do not need to be a Herbalist
-They do not appear as a herb node! You will need to look for them manually and you can find them around Zangarmarsh, especially around the tree mushrooms
-They have a cogwheel and you can collect them via druid form
-I'd do this on a herbalist/miner anyway to farm the other nodes in the area, and bring an axe for lumber
