I too can confirm this dropped from a Radiant Echo event (the deviant event in Duskwallow if that matters). I was a 47 Vulpera Shaman in both elemental spec and loot spec, though I suspect that DOES NOT matter since I got a couple of 1h agi weapons as well*. As others say, the shield gave both appearances. It took a little while, I started at 35, I got several other pieces of gear first, so likely just an RNG drop from a big pool of items.

* It seems the weapons and gear that drop as of today are tied to your class. I also did this on a Warrior level 50 to 70 and I got all warrior related gear/weapons, just not lucky enough to get the shield, so I switched to the Shaman. I never got like a bow on anything but a hunter, for example.

I looted this on my Arms Warrior with Protection loot specialization selected, so don't feel the need to actually play the shield using spec for classes like warriors or pallys!

I've seen a lot of anecdotal luck among friends and in the comments with Elemental Shaman, if you're here for tips. 0 luck on Pallys and Warriors but I got 2 on my shaman in his quest from 10-70, and a friend leveled 4 warriors before finally switching to Shaman and scoring.

Also, it can drop from Radiant Memories OR the Ony/Rag/LK boss. I've had higher luck seeing any gear drops off the end bosses, but I did get one of my dupes from a normal radiant memory that I hadn't contributed to and just flew over while it died.

I am here to let my fellow Paladins know that there is hope! I just got the horde version of the shield on my 52 Tauren Paladin after completing the Deviate Delights objective in Dustwallow Marsh. I finally got it after taking a warrior from 40 to 70, a different paladin from 49-70 and then this paladin from 1-52. All in either prot/holy loot spec while playing as Arms/Ret. Farmed this on many chars for maany hours the past few days, 10-20s, elemental shamans, prot warriors and prot paladins and none dropped.. Such bs.

I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but: After leveling two lvl 60 Paladins, two 50 Paladins, one lvl 30 Paladin, a lvl 60 Warrior, a lvl 35 Shaman, a lvl 1 Shaman and a lvl 1 Warrior to lvl 70, i finally got it after like 10-15 Events (startet from early lvls of 30) with a lvl 36 Paladin (also like the other posts before me in Dustwallow Marsh). This time i didn't put on a heirloom shield and used a green one instead (also deleted the heirloom from the inventory). As i said, i don't know if this triggered the drop or increased the chance, but i finally got it :D Good luck everyone!

Got leveling a Dark Iron Paladin from 10 to 27 and switch over to Horde Paladin and the Horde version shows up. So you only needs to farm one of them once.

I just got this on my Elemental Shaman! I stopped gaining experience when I reached level 49 and kept farming the Echoes and the different bosses until it finally dropped. The shield gives you both the Alliance and Horde version, so any class eligible to loot it will get it eventually, depending on your luck.

After leveling 4 chars from 10 to 60 finally got it today off Onyxia. Shame on Blizzard for not adding these transmogs to the vendor :/

The recruit's set drop rate is so low, I've run out of alts under 70 who can earn shields and I'm about to start a few new ones to try for the shields. These should really have been on the vendors, or at least offered as transmogs on the Trading Post.

Been farming this for 35 levels now as Prot warrior. Not a single drop of it. I do however somehow keep getting 新兵堅固巨斧 which isn't supposed to drop for prot, yet I have 4 of them...

There is really no special trick to getting it to drop at all. I tried everything in all of these comments, except one. I was trying to get it on 7 different Paladins since the event began, leveled anywhere from 1 to 50 to 50 to 69.

Rolling one Level 1 Fury Warrior (no loot pref) had it drop for me on Arthas.

Good luck everyone. That was not fun at all.
