I got 0 fish here. I did try in several different lava pools and found if I caught fish I didn't get beetles. Not sure if that was just my luck or what, but may be something to consider.

Note: I would also like to note that I was not max fishing or even close, and was using the artifact fishing pole only when fishing. This includes no lure.

Like the description says. this is also a random drop from gathering herbs (Herbalist). Didn't know it could be fished up in lava pools. That's good to know.

I had the most success getting beetles in 69,39. I tried a few of the suggested areas, but first got my fishing up to 100 in the same spot, and collected dozens of beetles doing it. After hitting Level 70, went back for beetle farming, and it's still the best spot.

For what it's worth, in January 2024 I got 5 beetles in about 10 minutes at 67.77 36.53. It's a pool with a Magmammoth Bull splashing around in it and a Qalashi Scoundrel sitting cross-legged on the shore.

Found lava beetles quick and easy in a large lava river/lake just outside Obsidian Bulwark: 37.67. If you fly straight from the FP at the Bulwark you'll land at a small hill next to the lake; there are 2 islands to the right. Go to the second on the right and fish from the far end. You'll have to do a little fighting, but nothing to lose any sleep over. Took me fifteen minutes to fish the 5 and get a little flotsam and jetsam as well. The only real question is why it took me half a lifetime to do the math and figure out that lava beetles would be found in lava. I'm working on it.
