Killed Hopecrusher with a group on my level 51 character and looted the mount (probably after the 5th or 6th attempt). This character had chosen the Threads of Fate path and is Venthyr covenant. I am unable to learn the mount yet, and it appears I need to be 60 to do so - but no where in the tooltip does it say that level 60 is required.

I am confused... I know you need Venthyr to USE the mount... but do you need to be Venthyr for it to drop in the first place? As a collector that would suck if that were the case, being forced to use an alt with less chances at the drop... :/

Armored Bonehoof Tauralus - This can be bought from the Necrolord Renown Vendor OR rarely looted from the indariver as I was halfway through the list of mounts and found their comments which helped me finish up the other half of the list. :)

Dropped for me today, after roughly 50-60 attempts (At first rarity wasn't installed, and I was killing him on a Kyrian and a Necrolord).

Screenshot for proof, that it was looted by a Venthyr.

What I also found curious, is that while the Predatory Plagueroc from Gieger, and Horid dreadwing from Harika, can only be obtained on it's given covenant, but used on all covenants, this mount can only be obtained, learned and then used on a Venthyr character. On this one, i'm 100% that it's lootable by only Venthyrs.

One thing I also found, is that this mount perhaps has a slighlty lower drop chance, than others like Gorespine, Blisterback, Horid dreadwing, Violet mistake mount etc, as I have killed Hopecrusher many times, and I have only seen maybe 3-4 mounts obtained in that period (all Venthyr), while on others, you see atleast 1-2 mounts dropping per kill for a 10-20 man party.

Dropped for me today on my Venthyr character the second time he tried it (don't hate). Was in a raidgroup with about 10 ppl. It only dropped for me.

I had earlier farmed Hopecrusher on my Night Fae-character with no luck in beginning of expansion.

When I looked to see if my other covenant character as a kyrian for example, the mount isn't even showing up in the list at all.

It dropped for me today on a lvl 50 Venthyr alt. However, when I attempt to use it I get the error message "Your level is too low to use that item". I leveled up to 51 in hope that was the requirement, but sadly I'm still too low.
I assume level 60 is the requirement, but I haven't confirmed it yet.

Okay maybe it's completely anecdotal but did this rare on 4 characters today. First group somebody got one. Second group TWO people got one. 4th group I got one myself after 238 tries. Drop rate seems higher than usual to me personally.

I got this today after 286 attempts, it dropped for a level 51 alt and after seeing comment here i thought id have to hit 60 to learn it, but no, i was ableto learn the mount no problem. Maybe this changed with the recent update. Good luck

This mount being Venthyr only makes it absolutely pointless unless you specifically want a black gargon without armor or just want +1 on the mount collecting achievement. I would have loved to ride a gargon on my other non-Venthyr characters, but by the time anyone gets this they're likely to already have 3 other gargon mounts from the campaign storyline.

Personally I can't fathom why I would want to ride a generic gargon when we are literally given Renathal's pet and companion as a mount because Vrednic took a liking to us. That's a gargon that actually means something.

This mount dropped for my venthyr hunter after less than 30 attempts. If warmode is off then it is easy to find a group for it. The rare hits hard and is difficult to solo.

Got it with my lvl 53 DK Venthyr. Summoned it, instakilled obviously.
Flied back, waited for people to engage it. Some horde players did the job, and i just tagged it. Mount dropped first kill. :-)

While this mount is only lootable by lvl 60+ Venthyr, it is usable by non-Venthyr.
Was able to mount it with my Kyrian Mage and a toon that didn't even have a covenant. :)

Did around 50 tries with my Maldraxxus Char and never got it just to read here that you have to be Venthyr to loot it.
