This is arguably the hardest part of Dungeon Set 1 to get your hands on.
Drakkisath is definately soloable as a level 80 warlock (did it as destro, so demo can do it, and I would assume affliction too), but it is a long run, even if you skip The Beast and the Leeroy Room, ending with a 9% drop rate on the robe.
Still missing it, and think it will be a while before I get it.

I've ran Upper Blackrock Spire like 40 times (more, but about that) and still have not seen this drop. CURSE YOU ROBES!

Looking like as of 3.2 you can get an upgraded version of this as an heirloom item.

I've been farming this item now on and off for months.
Easy enough to do but does take a little time.
Still yet to see it drop after 25 kills, finally put in a ticket to ask if they screwed up and removed it from his loot table.
Will post if i find out anything new.

Well it seems that it has been removed from his loot table according to the GM i just spoke with.
They wouldn't award me one for my hard work so i guess I'll wait a couple months and see if it's still broken :(

Still available in 4.0.1. Dropped on my 17th try. The whole place is a steamroll as Affliction. I know some potential valuables drop off trash, but I am a man of limited patience, so I rarely looted anything but Rend/Gyth and Drakkisath.

I strongly recommend this macro for any farming Warlock, but of course it is more effective as Affliction than anything:

/castsequence Bane of Agony, Corruption

Makes farming a breeze.

Also, when opening the doors to Pyroguard Emberseer, Seed of Corruption is your friend (again, Affliction is where it's at). For Drakkisath, DoT him up as you normally would, use your wonderful macro on his two guards, and drain the boss down.

This piece is proving elusive to me. So far, 37 kills and 3-4+ each of the other class chest items, as well as the Epic Blade, and no robe. With Cataclysm bearing down on us and uncertainty about whether or not this quest chain/item will remain in game after the Shattering patch, I'm getting rather frustrated.

Running my daughter through the same quest chain, her Dreadmist Robe dropped on our 4th kill. Bah. Drakkisath is enacting his revenge on me. :p

EDIT: 39th kill was the charm. I have never felt so relieved. :D

Been farming this for ages! Started to hate this instance more than anything else in the world, dunno must've done it at least 40 times. Seen all items except the Devout Robe (poor Priests); so I started logging what items dropped, and on the 10th it dropped! So statistically it has a 10% chance to drop but it's much less, about 2-3%. Seen Tome of the Lost and that cloak I dunno how many times, the loots are definitely not evenly distributed. Numbers in parenthesis is how many times they dropped during this 10-run log, and its corresponding percentage. General Drakkisath drops 3 blue items at a time.
