Finally confirmed that this and the other flower crowns will be part of the Lunar Festival event 2018. No other info at this time. But Hopefully this isn't just a holiday mog item as I'd love to wear it at all times.

Any word if these can only be used as transmog during the event? Or will it be a year round transmog?

25 coins EACH is costly, and something I'd use on the toys instead if it were just for the event.

This and the other crowns can now be transmogged year-round after completing Lunar Preservation! Once completed, take your crowns to Marael Lunarbloom to make them permanently available. (Also, as of January 2020, the quest is a bit buggy, so definitely check out the comments for it before starting. Hyjal must be done last or it bugs out.)

New quests in the Lunar Festival 2020 allow us to 'upgrade' our existing flower crowns to be usable all year round :D

保存月光 is the quest you need to start on to make your flower crowns moggable all year round!
Note, be sure to do Mount Hyjal one LAST (there is currently a bug preventing people from continuing if they go to hyjal at any other time). I personally also took a little detour while doing this quest to honour the elders (pickup coins) on the way (2 bird with 1 stone, and all that).

After having done the above quest you then have to have purchased the previous crowns to unlock the next quest(s). Completion of which gives you the 'all year round' mog versions.

I've listed all 4 here for completion. Each base crown costs 25 coins. You'll get 25 coins just by completing 保存月光 !
You are able to do this quest 3 more times on alts (or as many times as you have alts, if you want more stuff like toys!), and get all 4 crowns for very little work... then it's onto the next stage. All 4 quests require you to pick 3 special herbs in 3 separate zones.

How to Quickly Farm 先祖硬幣 for Transmog Items

Repeating 保存月光 on druid trial characters is the fastest way to acquire the Lunar Festival cosmetic items. There are currently 10 cosmetic items that cost a total of 130 先祖硬幣.

保存月光 rewards 25x 先祖硬幣. Because transmogs are account-wide and each item costs 25x 先祖硬幣 or less, you can simply complete the quest on a trial character, buy an item you want, then repeat on a new trial character until you have all the transmogs. This is much faster than trying to acquire all the cosmetic items on one character. Then after, do the four year-round perennial transmog quests for crowns all at once.

Lunar Festival toys and heirloom upgrades cannot be acquired by trial characters. You can use trial characters to buy the pets, but you'll need more than 25x 先祖硬幣, meaning you'll need to acquire the additional coins from Elders.

Walkthrough

Create a non-allied race druid class trial character, enter world.
Use 偵察地圖：大災變的後果 to unlock the Nordrassil flight path.* Use Hearthstone.**
- If you do not have this toy, Hearthstone** 🡒 Stormwind/Orgrimmar portal to Mount Hyjal 🡒 Unlock the Nordrassil flight path.*
- Open spellbook, add 夢行 to your action bar, cast it.
- Take Moonglade portal (map of portals). Pick up保存月光 from 麥蕊兒‧月綻.
- Go to moonwell #1 in Moonglade, use extra action button.
- Fly to and do the same at Moonwells #2-6 in Mount Hyjal 🡒 Felwood 🡒 Ashenvale x2 🡒 Stonetalon Mountains.
- Dreamwalk 🡒 Feralas 🡒 Fly to moonwell #7.
- Dreamwalk 🡒 Duskwood 🡒 moonwell #8.
- Dreamwalk 🡒 Moonglade 🡒 turn in quest.
- Buy desired cosmetic item from 瓦拉達爾‧星歌 (next to quest NPC) with 先祖硬幣 .

The above steps take ~20 minutes to complete. Repeat with a new class trial druid until you have all items you want.

Unlocking Perennial (Year-Round) Crown Transmogs

After you have bought all four crowns on trial characters, do the four quests to allow the crowns to be transmogged year-round. Once one character has purchased a crown, the perennial unlock quest for that crown is available to all characters on the account (but only during Lunar Festival). Save yourself some time flying around and do all four quests at once, on one character:

Talk to 麥蕊兒‧月綻 again to pick up the four quests for the crowns.
Complete the quests using Dreamwalk, Hearthstone 🡒 city portals, etc. to get around.

I expect Blizzard will probably "fix" this in the future so that trial characters can't acquire these cosmetic items.

* The Emerald Dreamway portal to Mount Hyjal does not seem to work for trial characters. You will need the Nordrassil flight path unless you wait for your Hearthstone cooldown and use the portal to Mount Hyjal in your faction's capitol. Map of Emerald Dreamway portals.
** Dreamwalk will not work until you leave the class trial scenario.
