Very OP trinket for low levels, twinks and leveling, It just creams any boss in 5man dungeons and annihilates groups of mobs.

Its a pity you can only equip one of these trinkets unlike the other heirloom trinkets cause if you could you would fill the room with killer tentacles that would make you unstoppable lol.

Pray to the RNG gods you get this trinket from the new 6.2 Garrison missions cause you wont be disappointed.

It's on-use CANNOT be used in a raid, apparently (or at least not Looking For Raid).

This is unfortunate, as it really does provide about 25k DPS per use.

Apparently, there are two requirements to get access to this mission.

1) At least three followers (two maybe?) at iLvl 675
2) Character iLvl at 675.

I'm sitting at iLvl 665, so I haven't seen any of the 6.2 iLvl 675 rare missions yet. Sigh...

It summons 5 void tentacles close to you. They are targetable and got 97.854 hp each at lvl 100, and 533 hp each at lvl 19.

The spawn pattern varies. They can spawn in a circle around you, or in a half-circle anywhere around you, and maybe in some other constellations too. They will only attack enemies that are in melee range of the tentacles. So for ranged classes this might be more of a defensive weapon against melee classes attacking you, rather than an offensive weapon.

For the most optimal effect, you should summon them when the target stands on top of you. That way, all 5 tentacles can reach and thereby hit the target. I equipped the trinket on a lvl 100 toon, and did a test on a Garrison target dummy: First, I spawned the tentacles so only one of them could attack the dummy: It did 155.673 damage (7.971 dps) during the 20 seconds. Secondly, I spawned them so all 5 tentacles could attack the dummy. That way, they did 785.200 damage (33.243 dps) during the 20 seconds. So it obviously matters how they are positioned vis-à-vis the target.

For the twinks: I equipped it on a lvl 19 twink Warrior and spawned the tentacles so all 5 of them could reach a lvl 1 target dummy on Theramore Isle: The tentacles did 5.302 damage (221 dps) during the 20 seconds.

As soon as the tentacles have spawned – they spawn one after another over a few seconds – you can switch trinket, and the tentacles will still be there to fight for you. As always, changing trinkets requires you to be out of combat so the usefulness of this feature might be situational. But it might come in handy if you expect an incoming fight and want to maximize throughput by combining the effect of the tentacles with another trinket (the one you replace it with).

The tentacles do share at least one of the (secondary) stats with the toon having the trinket equipped:

Multistrike (shared): My lvl 100 Frost Mage has 28% Multistrike, and the tentacles did 33% Multistrike damage, and my lvl 100 Shadow Priest has 10% Multistrike and the tentacles did 11% Multistrike damage. So Multistrike seems to be shared between toon and tentacles.

Critical Strike (not shared): My lvl 19 twink Warrior has 43% Crit, but the tentackles did only 5% Crit damage. The rest was 95% regular Hit damage. And my lvl 100 Frost Mage has 19% Crit, but the tentacles did only 1% Crit damage. So Crit does not seem to be shared.

I haven’t tested for other procs and effects (like Hero, weapon enchantments, etc.).

The tentacles can be spawned out of combat. I don't know if they have any kind of stealth detection – if they have, it could be useful to summon them when a rogue/feral is sneaking around close to you, and you expect to be sapped/attacked any moment soon.

Just wanted to chime in, it is possible to buy it, just logged in today and saw somebody selling satchel with this trinket in trade for 5K, so bought it and now i am proud owner of this item. Person said as long as it is unopened you can trade it, not sure if sellable on AH though.

Alongside leveling and doing dungeons, this trinket is extremely useful in Tanaan Jungle as the On-Use effect is so strong. The trinket will allow you to pull packs of mobs and if you can keep yourself up and wait just a few seconds, the trinket will kill most of standard mobs while you just sit back and watch in wonder..

I see a lot of people on my server trying to sell this for 10k, which i personally find a reasonable price for what this item does. However, I see many people trashing the seller saying he is ripping people off and they basically hurt his business because they don't know how powerful this thing really is.

I think it's safe to say this is one of the best trinkets in the game, by far the best heirloom in the game. If this was usable in raids it would probably be one of the best trinkets for the amount of damage this thing puts out. I for one use it on all my alts and am having a blast with it.

So a quick pro and con.

Pros

Insane amounts of damage (as you can read from wowgamer's post below)
It's an heirloom, usable on all your characters, across all realms
Already 1-100 heirloom, no need to upgrade and spend honor/gold/etc like you do on all your other heirlooms (3000g to upgrade an heirloom to 100)(http://www.wowhead.com/guides/heirloom-collections pricing is on the table near the top of the page)
For people who love to level in bg's, this trinket is very destructive in low level bg's. (It puts so much pressure on the enemy team, that when one of these is dropped, the healers usually don't have time to heal anyone other than themselves and their team starts to buckle around them.)
Usable in normal/hc/mythic dungeons as well as timewalking and pvp.
Solo elite's with ease or large groups of higher level mobs( the tendrils do aggro large packs of mobs from you if you need relief, just don't dps the mobs too much. different tendrils may attack different targets at the same time)
Great for dungeon's where you need to clear trash fast
Pure cosmetic fun, hentai tendrils all over the ground :P

Cons

Not usable in raids
Not usable in CM dungeons
It's AOE, sometimes you may want better control out of a dps trinket

Who's this for?

Altoholics
Low level bger's (maybe even at 100? i haven't tested enough bgs at 100)
People who run a lot of dungeons or farm dailies (like others have said, this is great in tanaan)
Twinks (amazing trinket to have in a twink arsenal for those who like that)

Who wouldn't get much use out of it?

full time raiders (people who dedicate the majority of their time to raiding at max level
anyone else who basically doesn't do anything from the "who is this for?" list :P

TL DR: It is AMAZING for people who will put it to good use(altoholics, twinks, dungeonneers), but fairly worthless for full-time raiders. So for the right person, this thing is pure gold, no need to ruin someone's business in trade saying this is not worth 10k or w/e they are asking because you have no use for it. Gold is so easy to make now anyways. Can make 10k in a day or two(old raids, crafting, garrison, etc)

I finally got mine. It's a great item, but it's a pain that you can't add it to the heirloom tab, which means you're back to passing heirlooms around between alts and trying to remember where it is.

Downvote this if you wish but I will say that I have only 1 toon at lvl 100 (which is my main as my 6 alts are between 1 and 50), I only recently reached an iLvL of 684 (and hit the '675' supposed minimum) about a week or so ago, plus I have ZERO followers above iLvL 645 (which I only got the ones I have at 645 via buying Pallas and the Arroka one a few days ago) and I have this trinket in my Looms and have had it for quiet some time now.

I will also add that no, I did not buy it off anyone, nor did I obviously get it off the AH as I'm told you cannot AH it (must be sold p2p only). So either I got very lucky that it showed up on my garrison quest log without any of the above restrictions, or the requirements for the "675" are not accurate. Or maybe I got glitched somehow and it gave it to me (maybe in the same fashion that The Pit refuses to show up for me still) who knows the real reason, but bottom line is I did get this trinket via a table quest the old fashioned way, I just wish now I remembered the details which sadly I don't. :(

So my question now is this: Is there anyone out there who can 100% positively confirm how to get this trinket? Not that I need it any longer for myself, but I see quite a few folks in trade chat looking for it and I'd like to be able to say 'Oh yes you can get that this way and need this requirement, etc...'. So any help on the particulars is much appreciated, thanks! :)

Apparently you can no longer use this in low level BGs. It's in my toolbar, works fine in dungeons and doing quests, but is greyed out in BGs.

These are extremely powerful at level 110 (scales with BM mastery to make them more OP)
we were using these in mythic Legion Dungeons last night on longer fights it averaged 25%~ of most people's dps if all 5 members used it on pull we'd have the boss down to about half before they were gone.

As of 7.1.5 it looks like this trinket got nerfed again , now it deals microscopic amount of damage even on very low lvls , definitely not usefull anymore at all.

Yea... I was so happy when I finally managed to get this only to find out it's been destroyed.

As a level 5 character my basic spell hits for 150-ish damage. The trinkets spawns (on a hefty cooldown!) 4 or so tendrils which each do 1-2 damage per hit for 10ish seconds so all together they possibly managed 20 damage MAX. Once every 2 minutes. If the mob stays nearby. This trinket is entirely pointless now.

Touch of the Void is available from the WoD Garrison and does a large amount of damage to enemies in the area. Really don't wanna spend 5k if the tendrils are still nerfed. I would be better off upgrading my main stat trinket or neck.

The 110 version is currently bugged, as the tentacles that are spawned are still level 100. Most of their attacks are missing/dodged/parried, and the ones that do hit are only hitting for 200-400 damage.

To obtain this you must complete the mission The Consuming Void

To get this mission your Garrison must first have;

- 3x followers with 675 item level
- 7x followers with 645 item level
- 675 item level on character (no need to equip the gear, you can just have it in your inventory)
- a minimum of 15 active level 100 followers

Those missions have 1 week cd; this means you'll get 1x rare 6.2 mission every 7 days per character, assuming you meet the criteria.

Now, you have just to cross your fingers and hope to get a "good" one (you can obtain a mission more than once after completing it the first time).

I tried with a toon of level 115 and this trinket fully upgraded - in a fight with one mob it did about 5% of my damage. Nothing like it was some time ago, but not completely worthless - the cooldown is to high for this bit of damage. Still i will use other heirloom trinkets.

Been testing this trinket on a 38 to 40 level toon and the tentacles never did any damage. Checked combat log, checked mobs health -- nothing.

This is so bad, I tried using it on a level 1 and the tentacles still couldn't hit a lv1 mob.
The only thing I've seen them kill is lv1 critters, and it takes them 5 hits to kill it, and some swings still miss.

This trinket is still either bugged or wildly undertuned. It does literally zero damage and has been this way for a few years now.
