To understand how this affects using these over the old form (i.e. blanket 5 levels), the following table shows the XP required for each level, so you can get an idea of when to use combinations of these and the Flawless Battle-Training Stone (and class specific training stones).

To summarise, with the 9.1.5 changes (2000xp and 10000xp), a level 1 pet will require 12 Flawless Battle-Training Stone OR 3 Fel-Touched Battle-Training Stone to achieve maximum level (though the latter will result in a lot of wasted XP if all three are used).

I have got a VERY basic spreadsheet that can be downloaded where you can put in the current pet level, and it will advise the use of stones. It also puts in how much wasted XP there would be when using these, so it might be worth considering actually battling instead for that XP, to maximise stone efficiency.

To level up a pet to 25 using a single 10K xp stone and not waste any xp, the pet needs to be at level 19 with 695 xp showing in the xp bar. Credit to Lucifa42.
