This is probably the easiest epic to obtain in the entire game (apart from skyfury helmet).
This also happens to be one of the finest Shaman(enh) chestpieces currently obtainable in the game (hunters has more viability of loot considering the stats).

(*) He spawns in the Arena of Blackrock Depths.
(*) The dropchance is roughly 20% and the spawn of Gorosh the Dervish is 1/6 (approximately 17%).
(*) Each run takes no longer than 5 to 10 minutes (dependant of arena encounter).

If your a Shaman(enh) I do believe you want this chestpiece, ask a couple of friends, give it a shot, you never know what luck may bring upon thee! ;)

Although alot of Hunters and Shaman would like this, if you're a Fury Warrior or Retribution Paladin, this item is also a real beaut'.

Taking into account the 20%(!) chance to drop, with a few helpfull Guildies/Friends or a group with plenty of time, this could be yours in no time at all.

Be wary rolling in a PuG though, as you called be called a ninja as it's Mail, not Plate. If they'd rather you didn't roll, a little cash into their pocket and this gorgeous item could be yours!

This used to have defense on it. They slowly nerfed Shaman defense by taking this away, making invulnerable mail useless, and changing Anticipation. Not that it doesn't own, it still does, but it used to be an awesome niche item. I got this on my shaman a long time ago when it was still a VERY rare drop. Nowadays the drop rate is much higher and it's much more attainable.

I'm a lvl 53 hunter and i got this chest on the 1st time i did BRD, there was a shaman in the group but i won the need roll, we reset it the same boss came up and the chest dropped again, 100% drop for me and the shaman, we were both very happy players. I guess we were just lucky.

as a paladin myself i would not get thatt set for the simple fact that we can wear plate and get plate that is equal to this and you will get more armor. I say leave this set for shamans and hunters who really need it.

hes not talking about the whole set, just this chest piece itself. Its quite good compared to anything plate at that lvl. And comment on your preference for the higher armor class, the liitle armor loss would be insignificant compared to the large increase in dps you would gain from this item, and even this set imo

As a fury war, I would not roll on this against an Enhance spec shaman. This is really their only option until outlands. There is DPS plate drop from this same arena that is even easier to farm.

That said, unless said shaman is in group, this is for a DPS warrior and no one else, not even a hunter. STR is worthless to hunters. Don't let noobs roll on gear just because its purple. I had a mage roll on http://www.wowhead.com/?item=10847 the other day against a rogue and I. Their excuse was "Mages can use swords". Luckily the rogue won the roll.

I used this piece till lvl 66 as an Enhancement shaman. There's really nothing better untill then. Even till 70.

Patch 2.3 changed +13 strength to +26 attack power, making this much better for hunters. The rest of the set was similarly changed save for the helm which had no strength to begin with.

With the conversion from str to attack power in 2.3, this will be the new project for my hunter through the 50's.

got this on my first run on my lvl 48 Hunter:S

had to use My friends lvl 70 hunter.
if you are boosting urself with another hunter. you better know how to controll some mobs.
just keep the low lvl at the gate where you just entered and run to the middle and kill the mobs.
then the boss will come out, hopefully it will be the right one.

after this you can run down to the houndmaster that also drops lots of nice Hunter stuff, but this part is probably easier to do with a class that got some better AoE than Hunter because of all the dogs.

I don't have anything constructive to add to this page, I just want to pay tribute to a truly fantastic item. I was helping a group of guildies complete the Ring of Law for their Tier 0 to Tier 0.5 upgrade quests when this dropped. I was a fresh level 60 fury warrior at the time, in mixed blues of varying quality.

As I compared these to the Hydralick Armor I was wearing, I realized that this wasn't just an incredible upgrade at the moment. This was a DPS chest that would last me though Zul'Gurub. Not only that, it would last me though Molten Core, AND Blackwing Lair. Until the first boss in AQ40 and Breastplate of Annihilation there was really nothing better. When the only other options were the old, poorly-itemized PvP chest, or the hybrid DPS/Tanking ZG Exalted BP, I could rock this bad boy, trading 20 Attack Power for 1.95% crit versus the ZG chest. So I used this for DPS all the way through ZG, MC, and BWL. Never did get to down Prophet Skeram, so I never replaced it till outlands. I still have it in my bank, next to my Lionheart Helm and my Warblades of the Hakkari.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling, I just wanted to reminisce.

Well I can't say for the sword, but the mail piece with defense was because back in vanilla wow. Shamans were able to off-tank in 5 mans and if they were geared enough they could tank a 5 man entirely.

If you're farming this for a transmog set, consider farming 龍鱗鍊衫 instead. Check the rare daily and you'll have it in no time. Farming a rare seems like a stretch, but its droprate is actually 25% which is more than this item, especially considering that the boss dropping this doesn't always appear.

Farmed in 2024 for a f2p twink - WoWhead data suggests a 1/10 spawn chance for Gorok, and a 30% drop rate for SGC.
Runs take around 3-4 minutes; kill the first two guards in the entryway, hang right and kill the patrol with the 2 dogs, run from the prison door towards the brazier and then kill the next 2 guards in the entryway. You can run past the pack before the arena door if you hug close to the wall around the next corner, but if the pack spawned with dogs they may catch you depending on random movements.
Got SGC in 121 runs, seeing Gorok 6 times and adding 12 hours to my /played - I saw the spawn and drop rate both be half of what's listed here. Save this farm for after you have the other strong f2p options like the TBC socketed drops, draenor warforged items, 執行者的震撼彈, or 無盡黑暗之刃 as these items are much easier to get and come from easier instances.
