This is the Inscription crafted off-hand in WoD. You'd most likely want to combine it with the other scribe made weapon 將領的火焰手杖.

Stage 3 - ilvl 660
Stage 4 - ilvl 675

Use an 蠱惑塔羅牌 to upgrade from stages 1-4.

Stage 5 - ilvl 690 using 強力蠱惑塔羅牌
Stage 6 - ilvl 705 using 野蠻蠱惑塔羅牌

The techniques for 強力蠱惑塔羅牌 and 野蠻蠱惑塔羅牌 can be bought and learned via the herb trader in a tier 3 garrison by a character with the inscription skill.

The random enchantment can be re-randomized via a 烈性水晶.

Upgraded ilvls via 勇氣點數 during any stage will be retained even after crafting to a higher stage.

Note that this OH does not count toward your 3 WoD crafted item limit which is nice (the main hand does, but not the off-hand).

On the downside, having to use 2 Mystical Crystals to upgrade both your MH and OH stinks - probably not worth it in the long term unless you just can't get an OH raid drop for some reason and you have the mats to spare.

WARNING - Not upgradeable atm 6.0.3 (fix in 6.1?)

Had a priest in our guild try to upgrade with the 不穩定的武器水晶. Got a "not usable" text. Put through a ticket and GM said that its a current "oops" in the system, they (GM's) can not fix the problem. Said it is a programming issue and left it hanging there so hoping its a later patch fix.

Save your 15 野蠻之血 & 100 戰爭顏料. GM did not offer a refund for Mats, priest was probably too nice to push it but this one falls under BUYER BEWARE.

NOTE: Forums on tome said "I was able to submit a ticket by choosing the "Restoration" option in the help menu. (As in, please restore my materials I used to craft this broken item)."

However if a couple of guildies banded together, like us, to make this item bet it gets more murky.. once again BUYER BEWARE.

6.1 still seems to have a problem for Shadowtomes.

Weapon crystals are for weapons, but Shadowtome is technically an off-hand. Weapon crystals were not intended for off-hands.

If you look at the Tarot cards that can upgrade trinkets or off hands I do not think you will find one that upgrades ilvl 630->640.

Just wanted to clarify how you upgrade the the Shadowtome.

Using the Ensorcelled Tarot you will go from 630 to 645.
The Greater Ensorcelled Tarot will take you from 645 to 660.
The Powerful Ensorcelled Tarot will take you from 660 to 670.

The ensorcelled tarot when crafted will read from 640 to 655.
The Greater Ensorcelled Tarot when crafted will read from 655 to 670
The Powerful Ensorcelled Tarot when crafted will read from 670 to 680
These are WRONG and will take you 10 levels lower as described above.

Notes about the Inscription off-hands (暗影魔典):

They are BoE and can be sold on the Auction House or traded
They DO NOT require Inscription to use
They can be equipped at Level 91
The off-hands require 10 輕羊皮紙 and 50 戰爭顏料 to craft
The off-hand will be crafted with +48-72 each of two random secondary stats (chosen out of Critical Strike, Haste, Mastery, Versatility or Multistrike)
The quantity of secondary stats when crafted is random as well (e.g. one item may have +63 crit and +63 haste, while another of the same type may have +66 crit and +58 haste)
The off-hand changes in appearance to be more elaborate as it is upgraded, with the addition of scrollwork accents and a gem.
The off-hand DOES NOT counts towards 1 of the 3 maximum Warlords of Draenor crafted items that you can have equipped at one time

A chart of the possible random secondary enchants for this item follows below, with the two stat combinations for each enchant (the off-hand would be named "Shadowtome of the Random Enchantment", where the Random Enchantment is one of the below names):

Notes about the Inscription trinkets:

Each trinket is created from a deck, and each deck requires 8 separate cards to create (as noted in the chart above).
The cards are created by the inscription skill 德拉諾暗月卡. This skill is available to Scribes OR to non-Scribes with a Level 2 or higher Scribes Quarters in their garrison.
The mats for 德拉諾暗月卡 to create each card are 1 輕羊皮紙 and 10 戰爭顏料.
德拉諾暗月卡 creates a RANDOM darkmoon card, and as such it may not be the number or even the deck/trinket that you may be looking for. There are 32 different cards that can potentially be produced - any of those listed in the chart above.
Scribes learn 德拉諾暗月卡 from 技藝：德拉諾暗月卡, a technique sold by the vendor in their Scribes quarters (Horde: 烏葛菈/Alliance: 艾瑞克‧布羅多克), or in Warspear (瑪露莎)/Stormshield (裘奧‧卡韓多). The cost is 5 德拉諾銘文學奧秘.
Right-clicking any card (when all 8 cards of the corresponding deck are in your bags) will create the appropriate deck. Right-clicking the deck will create the corresponding trinket. This can be done by non-Scribes, and the Darkmoon Faire is NOT required to do so.
The individual cards (e.g. 鋼鐵之三, 皓月之八) and decks (e.g. 戰爭套卡) are NOT soulbound and can be traded or sold on the Auction House.
The trinkets themselves are BoE, and can be traded or sold on the Auction House if they have not been equipped.
The trinkets DO NOT require Inscription to use.
The trinkets can be equipped at Level 91.
The trinkets count towards 1 of the 3 maximum Warlords of Draenor crafted items that you can have equipped at one time.
Upgrading the trinket will change the primary stat amount and the proc strength, although the duration of the proc, proc chance and internal cooldown of the trinket remain the same.
Two of the same trinket CAN be equipped (this includes two different stages of the same trinket). This is not very useful, however, as the trinkets share the same internal cooldown for procs (so proc frequency WILL NOT increase). If two different stages of the same trinket are equipped, only the stronger trinket will proc. The only benefit of a second equipped trinket of the same type would be the primary stats obtained.

After talking to a GM and wasting mats I just wanted to re point out that your to use the tarots to upgrade is, yup ignore the ilvl and use the thing that says 640 and not the weapon crystals that are for weapons and 630 items

When crafting this for transmogrification, it only needs to be upgraded twice, to stage 3. The first, second, and third stages yield new appearances. The fourth through sixth stages use the same appearance as the third.

For some reason, in 8.0.1, you can't upgrade this item to higher ilvl, which means you probably can't unlock other 2 tramsmogs as well. I've been trying to upgrade my stage 2 shadowtome, which I've made in the middle of Legion, with Mighty Ensorcelled Tarot, and got "That item cannot be modified".
So I've crafted new shadowtome, and tried to upgrade it to stage 2 with Ensorcelled Tarot, and that's where magic happens. Because shadowtome consumed Ensorcelled Tarot, but ilvl was still 136. And there also was "That item cannot be modified".

I actually contacted a GM to inquire if I could be given the two later versions of the Shadowtome while they take the materials I have in my bags. I was denied, being told to make a bug report, I asked if they could give me an estimate of the time it would take to fix this issue which seems to have been around since Legion from some reports, saying that only the weapon crystal used to work for the upgrade. (Yes the GM stated he'd tried this too, it didn't work.) In short, the GM told me not to hold my breath but the devs were aware of the issue.

Tl;dr Devs are aware you can't upgrade the Shadowtome anymore. Unknown timeline for a fix. They won't give you the items in exchange for the mats if you ticket. Make a bug report.

This item no longer works to upgrade the Shadowtome, I have filed bug reports and a ticket twice. I am trying to get the transmog appearence but do not bother to craft the ensorcelled tarot until blizzard fixes this problem; I have heard this has been a bug since legion so it has not been fixed for two years, consider anything past the base transmog appearence unobtainable.

I am filing another ticket right now and expect them to send me the link to this wowhead page again, like they did for my last ticket. Hope the GM reading my ticket reads this before i submit my ticket. this is what i wrote:

There is an error message about it not being valid. I have 2 ensorcelled Tarot on me which I have tried to upgrade both a soulbound Shadowtome and a BOE version in my bags (and while the soulbound was equipped), I have filed a bug report also. This is my second ticket about this subject, I really only want the transmog. Can you remove the ensorcelled tarot from my bag and take the multiple shadowtomes i crafted from my inventory and unlock the appearences for the followup transmog of this Item. I am close to 92% of all appearences in the game, i need these transmogs.

If you want to have the three version of the transmog items Unique-Equipped: Warlords Crafted gear, you will need to craft and equip ALL THREE SEPERATLY!

I have just crafted Crystlalfire Spellstaff level 3 using the "Remarkable Weapon Crystal" ( Purple ) in Inscription, I already knew the original level 1 transmog, but on equiping the level 3 staff I just crafted, it DID NOT give me the level 2 appearance as well!

Meaning you will need to craft the first item, then learn level 2 ( Blue ) essence + craft the item AGAIN AND learn level 3 ( purple ) essence AND craft the item for a third time!

Remember they are part of the new crafting system, so you will need to add them on WHILST CRAFTING...NOT, like you did in WoD, were you have them as an item and clicked onto the item you wanted to upgrade! I.E "Savage Weapon Crystal" which become grey items and being removed from crafting lists.

With the changes in 10.0.5 you can craft the upgrade items to unlock the Level 2 and Level 3 appereances again!

But be careful...this time you have to craft the basic tome with the optional mats you can't upgrade a once crafted tome anymore!

First you have to use your daylie inscription cooldowns to craft 11x Secrets of Draenor and buy the three recipes in your Garrison:

Make shure you got around 200x Ceruilian Pigment to craft your daylie War paints and to create work orders for it. A Level 2 Inscription Building with a Follower at work speed things up. Or you've been lucky to have a Level 3 Garrision and a visit from the herb trade to purchase a Recipe: The Spirit of War. With this you can produce War paints without cooldown.

Basic Shadowtome mats:
10x Light Parchment
50x War paints

Simply craft the Shadowtome for the basic appereance.

Upgrade 1 mats:
10x Light Parchment
150x War paints
25x Savage Blood
10x Ceruilian Pigment

First craft 1x Impressive Weapon Crystal. Afterwards head to your Shadowtome recipe and select the crystal as optional reagent.

Upgrade 2 mats:
10x Light Parchment
175x War paints
35x Felblight
10x Ceruilian Pigment

First craft 1x Remarkable Weapon Crystal. Afterwards head to your Shadowtome recipe and select the crystal as optional reagent.
