This is a box that will be obtained through PvP situations like the "Call to Arms" or the "Random Battleground" feature, it is also going to be obtainable from the new "Skirmish" PvP option. This will be able to give you Honor Points, Conquest Points, or even some neat gear(They say you have a high chance to get some of the 1st out of 3 tiers or PvP gear)! :D This is the highest tier out of three and it will have a better chance to get some of the better rewards, or possibly some rewards that can't be gotten from other strongboxes. You get these different tiers based on how good your team did, like if you did ok(Got a third of the way done), you will get a bronze strongbox, if you got 2/3's of the objective complete, you will get bronze and silver, if you won, from what they say, you will get all three strongboxes.

The other boxes:
Bronze: 青銅保險箱
Silver: 白銀保險箱

The objectives of the various battlegrounds have been split into 3 tranches.
Warsong gulsh and other flag winning battlegrounds: capture 1 / 2 / 3 flags
Arathi bassin and other resources winning battlegrounds (revamped to a 1500 points win): collect 500 / 1000 / 1500 resources

For each tranche achieved by one of the team, members will be awarded a box at the end of the battleground as follows:

Tranche 1 (1/3 of the objectives attained): 青銅保險箱 (Horde) or 青銅保險箱 (Alliance)
Tranche 2 (2/3 of the objectives attained): 白銀保險箱 (Horde) or 白銀保險箱 (Alliance)
Tranche 3 (battleground won): 黃金保險箱 (Horde) or 黃金保險箱 (Alliance)

The box can contain Honor points, Conquest points as well as gear.
Of course, the higher the quality of the box, the greater the chance to get better rewards
This is no "consolation loot" as both the winning team and the loosing team will receive it if the corresponding criterium is achieved.

And now, an example : Horde wins Warsong Gulsh with a score of 3/2
Horde members have achieved the 3 tranches so they will recieve 黃金保險箱 + 白銀保險箱 + 青銅保險箱
Alliance members have achieved the first two tranches so they will recieve 白銀保險箱 + 青銅保險箱

Updated 13/01/2015 : For some reason, Blizzard's initial intentioon was not respected and you now receive either the bronze OR the silver OR the gold, depending on how much your team performed.

So, gotten a few gold lockboxes from bgs.. I can say that you will not get silver and bronze aswell as the gold lockbox.. you only get the one lockbox

The list of items don’t show the sword I got. I didn’t knew but they also drop items with more ilv them 620. I got a sword with 626, slightly better then the one you get with 3500 honor. The description says its goes to ilv 681 on pvp.

So far every Gold Strongbox that I have received has a worse reward than any Silver or Bronze one that I've won. In the gold box so far I've won between 50-75 honour and 20-30g. In the Bronze and Silver I've got things like primal combatant gear, 100-300 honour and ~120g. It's odd how the gold one seems like less of a reward.

Noob question: Are the strong boxes available for the Alliance? I've fought in dozens of PvP matches and have NEVER seen one.

I see an awful lot of unwarranted down-votes on posts below so I'm sure I'm next in line for posting my findings.

Just as a small disclaimer, I haven't bothered with BGs since pre-WOD and only after rerolling on another server with my wife for the change of pace (i.e. new faction), I thought it'd be a fun activity for her and I to participate in together since she has never really cared much for PvP (she only started playing post-WOD launch).

That said, after opening six of these strongboxes tonight, these are my rewards:

Evidently the rumor that Gold Strongboxes are weak in rewards has more merit than some care to acknowledge, while also being beneficial enough to some to convince them that everyone who shares my experience, is crazy.

Just to remind players. Killing rares with your zerg group in Ashran is still the fastest way to gear up (if you are EU Horde). I've opened probably close to 10 of these Gold boxes, and roughly 20 silvers and 30 bronze boxes (since WoD launch). Most of the time you just get a depressing amount of about 11 gold... and the chance of getting a decent piece of gear (not a green) is really, really low. Following a zerg group in Ashran that kills rares will net you about 200 fragments per run (before people run back to turn them in). If you don't die. You're looking at 600 base honor without counting the repeatable quests etc. That's a minimum of about 3 wins in BGs which anyone will tell you takes about 3 days with the current imbalance on EU Horde. You can also do the dailies on Isle of Giants for another 200 Honor Points and the dailies in Northrend for another 200 honor points too. Though I wouldn't bother so much with those because you'll make tons more faster just following a zerg group around. Please bring your best tank and healing gear if you go because there's plenty of DPS and those rares can almost 1-hit groups of 10+ people at a time. DPS isn't a problem, finding a decent tank and some healers always is (for us hordies).

So if you are EU horde, go sign up at Ashran today and help kill rares with the rest of your group for fragments and turn those into Honor Points and eventually gear. Then take the fight to the Alliance! (1 fragment = 3 honor points). Just remember that if you die, and release spirit, you lose HALF your fragments.

P.S. Before patch 6.2 you ONLY got blues from these chests. Now it's possible to get greens which are 10 PvP levels lower and 50 regular item levels lower. You can still get blues but they are much rarer after the latest patch. Thanks Blizzard...
