Only available when the daily quest 來自諾達希爾的協助 is up in Rustbolt. Look for a specific Mushroom in the Fleeting Forest (next to the waterfall) with the NPC ID: 135497. Click on it to make the rare mob spawn. (If you don't have an ID addon, then just click on all the small mushrooms around and the rare will spawn sooner or later.)

The section "Punch Cards" seems wrong/outdated. You can't build that trinket, you get it from a quest. And it's unique, so you can't have more than one to allow easy swapping of the cards.

Good guide, but the blueprint and dailies section are woefully lacking. Put the item that is created by the blueprint. I dont care where to find the million and a half blueprints, i want to find the item that is created so i can then find where to get the blueprints. No idea where the start of the dailies are. Trinket info is just plain wrong, cant create a 2nd trinket since its unique.

That's actually not correct, you have to contribute to the project of course but you do not have to finish it. Stay within the zone/range and you will get another point to the achievement after you contributed.

A couple updates to the guide as of 8.2 live: Punch Cards section. The trinket is awarded through a quest, not a drop. And the trinket is also "Unique", so the section on switching between trinkets is impossible since you can only have one.

Seems like there is a cap on number of Mechanized Chests you can find in a day. The past two days, I've looted 6 or 7 chests and then they appear to stop spawning until the next daily reset.

Edit: It's 8. You can loot 8 in a day before they disappear.

Rustbolt Requisitions comes from Irradiated Box of Parts, which is from a rare event at the Reclamation Rig. Rarely Irradiated Golems may spawn instead of Neutronium surge. Got the blueprint from it.

No mention of the Triumph of Gnomeregan Vinyl. I hear its a very low drop from Frieza but would like to know if there are any other ways to get this. Its the only thing I need for my Mecha-Dome achievement. At this point I feel like it'd be quicker to redo this entire achievement on whichever one of my characters I get this vinyl on.

I've created several macros for all the rares in Mechagon. This is to help you figure out if you've already looted that rare today when someone spams that the Rare is up.

Blizz has a 255 Character max per macro so I've split it into 8 macros and simply called the macros by the first letters of the mobs so when someone calls out "RUST UP" you can click your "R" macro and it will tell you if you've looted.

This guide includes all the dailies from the npcs that are visitors. It does NOT include the dailies from the npcs that are always there. I would appreciate it if this was included in the guide. I currently want/need it because I'm writing a ticket to blizz about a weird interaction with Party Sync and visiting NPCs, but I want to indicate which quests and npcs I do not have problems with in the ticket.

For new players: the fastest way to rep up (and get 電流振動器 and spare parts) is to do two daily quests (the warmode quest, and the daily WQ). 2/3 days you can do both of them by opening the 9 chests. scattered about the island. For "do stuff" days and "loot 6 chests", you're set. For "kill 3 rares" you obviously have to fight rares. You get aprox 1000 rep a day this way.

There are actually 11 chests that can have the galvanic whatsit (and WM quest items), but only 9 of them count for the WQ. There's one chest per region, but the regions can overlap. Once you've looted a chest for a region, you won't see another one there for the rest of the day. After anybody has looted a chest, there's a timer of several minutes (I don't know exactly, I didn't time it) and then that chest despawns for everyone. 3-5 minutes later, another respawns in that region. So if one vanishes before you get to loot it, come back in a few minutes and look around.

"future" doesn't count for your WQ because you have to phase (either from Chromie's quest or an item you can make). But it can have WM parts or a galvanic whatsit.
The last chest isn't like the others at all. On western spray, if you kill a few murlocs, you'll get a key (only one key a day). Scattered around Western Spray there's also some chests, but they don't show up on your minimap, you have to mouse over them to notice them. Find a box that matches the key you get. If you can't find a box, you can save the key and do two the next time. There's a slim chance of getting a galvanic whatsit, depending on the key type. No quest credit for that box either.

I was trying to unlock Mechagon on an alt. I used your guide to help me find out why it wasn't unlocking.
I made sure to do all that was said in the first part to be eligable, I tried relogging, going back and forth between Nazjatar and Boralus, did more quests, unlocked all of Uldum and Vale, still no quest.

After all this, I noticed I still had the old war campaign incomplete. I went and did the last quests to unlock Vol'dun. Still not enough.
Continued the war campaign until I got the achievement, still nothing.
Went and did a few World quests in Nazjatar and when I came back to Boralus afterwards, I noticed I had the quest to explore the vault in Tiragarde.
When exactly I got it, I'm unsure of, but it seems to me ~~the war campaign needs to be completed~~ to be able to unlock Mechagon.

I hope my experience might help others, who are stuck in a similar situation.

Edit June 11th, 2020:
Was unlocking this on another alt. She had already done most of the Nazjatar line, but needed to do Highmountain and forward. I checked her reputations and saw she didn't have any of the 3 zone-factions at friendly, and since 2 of them were up as emissaries, I went and did those. I then decided to unlock World quests in Nazjatar before getting the 3rd reputation to friendly.
I did the Highmountain scenario and unlocked the Heart Forge, went back to Naz and did the follower quests.
As soon as I handed in the final one, a gnome arrived on it's mount with a quest to see Tinkmaster Overspark.

Comparing these two experiences I can only conclude, that it is NOT required to have the zone-factions as friendly to unlock Mechagon.

Next thing was to check the War Campaign. This character hasn't finished it, it's not even close. In the Ready for War achievement, she only has 2 completed parts, the footholds in Vol'dun and Zuldazar.

So it is also NOT required to do the footholds or the war campaign, contrary to my previous observations.

I am at a loss, as to why my first mentioned alt didn't seem to be able to get it, and at least for the second alt, the reputation isn't required.

I just paid my municipal taxes because it was a less frustrating activity than continuing on the unlock quests. Who was in charge of unlock quests for BFA endgame, and why did they think they needed to be so damn long? ok so for the newest patch (Shadowlands 9.02) you no longer have to worry about reputation scores with any of the factions, etc. I finished it on Friendly though.
Anyway, after completing this guide and finishing the three parts you will need to go back to Oribos. At the fountain on the docks you will see a female gnome giving you the quest you need. This will take you back the the gnome island.

Then do the following quests there:

To unlock Mechagnomes, you need to unlock the quest Urgent Care.
To unlock Urgent Care, you must unlock Mechagon.
To unlock Mechagon, you must unlock World Quests in Nazjatar.
To unlock World Quests in Nazjatar, you must complete part of the Nazjatar campaign, including a detour to Silithus from Brann.
To complete part of the Nazjatar campaign, you must unlock Nazjatar.

This guide is lacking details on how to unlock Mechagon on a new character, so here's how to do it (for Alliance):

Reach level 50
Complete 讓庫爾提拉斯團結起來
Optional: Complete the quest line ending in 王國分裂. The portal from Silithus to Boralus may not appear if this isn't completed, but you don't need it to unlock Mechagon.

1. Complete the following quests:

垂危的世界 - Pick it up in BORALUS, not Silithus.
艾澤拉斯之心
關鍵性的強化

2. Complete the Nazjatar introduction quest line:

Starts with 狼的攻勢
Follow the quest line until you complete 回家的路 (opens the portal to Boralus)

3. Magni will then appear in Mezzamere. Complete the quest line with him and Ebonhorn:

Starts with 母親知我心
Ends with 心之熔爐 (This also unlocks the 8.3/N'zoth quest line)
Pick up 返回大海 from MOTHER, go back to Nazjatar.

4. Complete these last few quests in Nazjatar:

Upon turning in 淬鍊後的刀刃, Gila Crosswires will appear next to you and offer 追求地精名聲更待何時, which starts the actual quest line to Mechagon. Follow the quest line, and once you complete 歡迎加入反抗軍 the Mechagon dailies will be unlocked.

As of 10.2.0 you don't even need to get your Heart of Azeroth, you don't need to enter Nazjatar or anything like that. On a brand new alt (speaking of Horde perspective), just unlock Zulzadar and the moment you summon the horde (approximately 5min of gameplay) you can pick up the quest "The Legend of Mechagon" and thus skip entirely steps "UNLOCKING MECHAGON, PART #1" and "UNLOCKING MECHAGON, PART #2".

I've submitted report to wowhead regarding this inaccuracy as today I've lost 4-5 hours grinding on my alts to unlock Mechagon and then by accident I noticed this. Hopefully more people read my comment and save some of their time (:

Well, first as an alt with the pathfinder unlocked already by my main toon, and a also being a mage, I teleported to Boralus looking for "The Wolf's Offensive" quest. It was no where to be found, the only quest visible was "Waning Energy" just outside of the teleport zone in area, near the middle of the commerce area by the inn and bank. I accepted this and went to Proudmore's keep, then had to go fetch a uni-copter to fly this Mekkatorque's Escape Pod back to Mechagon and took another copter that ferried me all the way there.

Initially I had teleported to Boralus and flew all the way (unlocking a few flight points on the way) to the isle of Mechagon, and yes, there was no flight point on the island, no inn keeper to make a new hearth at or any interactable NPC's to deal with. I camped for a bit up on the south mountain area as my point is I am after Rustfeather for the mount and after killing it, I received two blueprints that gave me quests each. I could not interact with the Pascal NPC as it was not phased in yet. Continuing on with my comments above, I was given the quest: "The Current Schematic" I accepted it and went to check on the Inn keeper, Smiles Cracklekey, he was available for me to make Mechagon my hearth now, but checking the beach area for the flightmaster showed that it was not available yet.

I turned in the quest (The Current Schematic) to Waren Gearhart then I get another quest from Prince Erazmin, "Voyage to Safety". Did it, no flight master yet. Offered another quest: "Better... Stronger... Less Dead" from Christy Punchcog and completed it as well. No flightpoint yet, I was offered another quest: "Him?" by Prince Erazmin. This led to a few more quests all of which offered no Mechagon Rustbot resistance rep and no flight point either.
I was offered the "Ascension" quest given by Mekkatorque and the mini dungeon you go is scaled to you. I had to fight lv 70-71 mobs here. While still inside this instance, you complete Ascension and are given: "The Future of Mechagon", just a watch and participate quest, then you get "Propagate the News" which teleports you to Stormwind to talk to Aysa Cloudsinger. Since I already had the mount as the reward on my main, that is the end of this questline. I teleported back to Boralus, still no quests offered except "A Dying World" by an Earthen Guardian near the Inn. I don't know where to go to get the bread crumbs to open up Mechagon.

For people running this dungeon as legacy content (for Transmogs or Decor), here's some things to know:

This dungeon had two halves: Junkyard and Workshop. No, unfortunately, you cannot skip the first half. Yes, you have to run the entire thing to get to King Mechagon.

Most of Mechagon's bosses can be one shot as soon as they are attackable
HOWEVER, do not one shot the following, or they will bug out:
a) Tussle Tonks (the dual boss)
b) King Mechagon
No, dying will not solve the issue. You can try teleporting out, but it may be a loooooong flight back if your hearth is not set somewhere nearby; and if you are on normal, you risk resetting the dungeon.

To activate Hydraxis:
Kill the 3 elites marked by yellow dots on the map; there is one in the boss arena, and two further out from him in the poison water. This will activate the cleaning bots. Once the cleaning bots reveal the boss, you can safely one shot him.

To kill HK Aerial Defender solo:
1. Kill the tank buster
2. The boss is immune to hits still. The game will tell you that either the north or south tower has activated; the correct will be highlighted, and there will be zappy traps active around that tower.
3. Go through the gauntlet to reach the tower. Don't touch ANYTHING, or else you will be sent back to the beginning of the maze.
4. Once you reach the tower, click on in, and begin a channel to overload the boss' shield. Again, don't let the bots or the traps touch you; move if you need to, and restart your channel. It won't feel like you are having any effect, but trust me, just keep channeling!
5. Eventually, the boss falls down. You can safely one shot him at this point.

To kill Tussle Tonks
DO NOT ONE SHOT TUSSLE TONKS OR ELSE YOU WILL BUG THE BOSS AND HAVE TO TELEPORT OUT.
1. Taunt/get aggro on one of them to start the fight.
2. Drag them under one of the mallets and make it stand in the circle. Don't stand there yourself, or it stuns you (mostly just an annoyance)
3. Drag it under one more time to be safe.
4. If they aren't already dead by this point, kill them.

To kill King Mechagon
DO NOT ONE SHOT KING MECHAGON OR ELSE YOU WILL BUG THE BOSS. Thankfully, there is an easy way to reset this one if you accidentally bug it. Just jump off the edge and revive. This won't give you kill credit, but it will at least save you the trouble of teleporting out.
1. Auto attacks only in first phase.
2. Auto attacks only in second phase.
3. Safely one shot him in third phase.

As of this post, Spare Parts are also an efficient way to obtain War Resources to buy the decor items in BFA that are sold for this currency. You must be exalted with the Rustbolt Resistance faction to take advantage of this. Complete the More Recycling and Even More Recycling repeatable quests to generate Spare Parts, then convert those Spare Parts into Battle Boxes at Pascal-K1N6. Each Battle Box costs 250 Spare Parts and awards 100 War Resources. In a half-hour of farming these quests I get anywhere from 800 to 1200 War Resources. You can also buy/sell the components for the quests (Hardened Spring, Tempered Plating, Machined Geared Assembly) on the auction house. Hardened Spring has the lowest drop rate by far.

There is a 24% loss rate if you convert your War Resources from one faction to another (Horde vs Alliance), so consider the time-sink on developing an Exalted reputation on more than one faction for this. It might be worth it if you really love the Kul Tirian and/or Zandalari items.
