Guardian Druid Solo PvE Guide [L90]

This guide is going to assume that you are maximum level (90) and have an average gear level of 535 which is the most easily accessible level of gear for the current tier (5.4), and that you are knowledgeable of your class and spec.
Why solo raids?
Have you ever been in a raid when something rare dropped? Like a mount, or a pet, and had that sad crushing feeling you get when some random person wins it?
Well that's never going to happen when you solo raids by yourself! Because the loot is all yours!
What kind of loot can I get?
Mounts, mounts and more mounts, oh and battle pets. With a special mention of transmog items, lots of them.
And the best part, GOLD! On a good week, a full clear of these raids would yield me around (Vendoring Grey drops, Disenchanting, Vendoring epics).

Hang on, what difficulty should my raid be set to?
Most of the time you're going to want to do 10man normal, as it will let you clear a lot quicker, and is a lot easier and more fun (since you're not spending 10 minutes on a boss and/or dying).
There will be some raids you will want to do in 25man, since mounts have an increased percentage of dropping, or if you're doing Ulduar for

's which only drop on 25man.
Any other reason for doing them on 25 man or just heroic, would be for different coloured XMOG's or achievements.
I can't guide you through every possible difficulty for every boss, as that is impracticable, so most of these will be in 10man Normal. Once you feel more experienced, and especially more geared, you can move on to higher difficulties.
Oh, one more thing. How can I kill these bosses?
Right, this is the simple part up until you get to very high level stuff like 25man Ulduar and ICC and Cataclysm raids.
Below I've layed out in tabs each Raid (and some Dungeons) in the game, with descriptions, recommended gear levels, talents and glyphs.
Bosses with need to know mechanics have been explained for you, and some have video's posted to help you even more.
Any boss that does not have an explanation, can simply be killed without any worry of kill mechanics or whatnot.
99% of the time, you're either going to kill the boss by using

(and in extreme rare cases,

casting) or just your usual
Bear rotation.
If you are a Guardian druid and have no clue on how to use HotW+Cat form, I suggest you go learn now!

This is an all in one movement/mount macro, edit the mount to your preferred mount. By default it will use Flight form, if you cant fly it will use a ground mount, if you're in the water it will use aquatic form, if you're in combat it will use Travel Form. If you hold a modifier (Alt, Ctrl or Shift) it will use Travel form (this is good for Battlegrounds if you have the flag)

- Use a Demolisher vehicle. Don't waste Pyrite on the trash. Once FL appears, shoot your Pyrite at the boss.

- Kill the Runemaster last, since he gives you a lovely 50% damage increase rune on the ground when you stand in it.
芙蕾雅
- Just nuke her with HotW - If you happen to not kill her before her adds spawn, the 3 medium adds need to die at the same time, the small ones explode as they die, and the 1 large add pacifies you unless you stand underneath a mushroom.
彌米倫
- On the first head phase, use the item that the Assault Bots drop to bring the head down to attack. Use your HotW to get the head down in FINAL phase (when all 3 body pieces are attached). Finish up by using Berserk in bear form to get all 3 down at the same time.
霍迪爾
- Get the NPC's out, stand in the sun beams for haste buff, stand on the HUGE snow mounds to not get frozen during Deep Freeze.
索林姆
- Fixed in 6.0, you no longer die when you go in the gauntlet. Kill the first set of adds when you start the encounter then open the gate to the left. run through the gauntlet and attack Thorim then jump down to the main arena.
尤格薩倫
Tentacles (Small first, then big last) are absolute TOP PRIORITY during the ENTIRE encounter. Do not attack Yogg Saron until all tentacles are dead.
Please note
that this fight is very RNG. One week I can solo this in 1 attempt, next week it might take me 10 attempts. Keep going at it and you should get it down.
I highly recommend

if you are doing Yogg+0 lights to keep the Immortal Guardians at low HP. (The lower their HP the less damage they do)
Lastly, Yogg will cast an AoE heal that lands where you are standing and will heal himself and any immortal guardians that it hits, this is quite annoying and does make the fight go for longer, but you need to deal with it. Do the best you can, make sure you set yourself up to do as much DPS as you can.
I also recommend using HotW in the brain phase to destroy the brain in 1 portal phase.

The Lich King 25man HEROIC
Note: Any/all Knockback abilities will be ineffective on yourself when standing on the staircase - Keep this in mind when doing Phase 1 and Transition phases
For phase 1 (100-75% HP)
Burst down Lich King as fast as you can, ignore the adds!
Keep your eye on Infest and make sure you get it off ASAP by keeping yourself above 90% hp
Dodge the Shadowtraps - THIS IS IMPORTANT - you will die if you get hit by it, if you are not standing on the stairs.
Transition Phase 1 (75% HP)
Run to the stairs and stay on the first steps so the knockback from ice spheres don't affect you
DPS down as many adds as you can until the phase is over
Phase 2 (75 - 40% HP)
Keep track of Infest, its really easy to lose concentration at this point
Avoid Defile by running out of it
Dps Lich king while keeping Thrash on the remaining adds
Transition Phase 2 (40% hp)
Same as Transition 1
Phase 3 (40 - 10% hp)
There is no more Infest, but now a debuff that does damage per second and hurts a little bit
Defile still exists
You will be sent to the Frostmourne phase after a few seconds where you can sit and do nothing until you are sent back out of it
Once back out, continue to keep thrash on any reminaing adds and dps the lich king down to 10% hp where he will cast Fury of frostmourne instantly killing you where roleplay will commence to finish the fight.
Please note that unless you are above Ilvl 540 this is a very strict DPS requirement to beat the enrage timer - In this video I did hit the enrage and used EVERY defensive cooldown I had to survive the damage until I managed to get him to below 10% hp.
Talents that are necessary are Yseras Gift, Incarnation or Soul of the Forest, and Heart of the Wild for dps burst.
With Glyph of Maul, Glyph of Might of Ursoc, Faerie Fire - These are my personal preferences for this fight.

The Green one reduces all healing by 100%
The Blue one reduces your haste by 500%
The Orange one silences you (no Faerie Fire casting)
When not on either of these platforms when the respective conclave is ALIVE, these debuffs will be applied to you.
When fighting the green one, he will put a pacifying beam down, just move out of it
Blue guy will put frost patches down, move out of it - either way it does almost no damage
Orange guy, dont stand in his tornado's, and watch out for his gust of wind thing (special ability), it will blow you off the platform and kill you.
On Al'akir, kill the little storm adds for a damage buff on the boss. Dodge the storm clouds.

Beth'tilac - Taunt down one of the iniate spiders that appear on the webs, kill it and jump up to the top with Beth is. HotW and dps her till 10%, follow her down and continue to kill her.
It is currently
impossible
to do this encounter on heroic mode.
Lord Rhyolith - A bit of an RNG fight with volcano spawns. Drive Rhyolith over volcanoes by attacking his left or right foot. Each volcano that he stands on allows you to do more damage to him. Continue until ~20% then finish him off.
Alysrazor - At the start of the fight, 9 feathers will spawn on the ground, pick up 3 of them immediately to allow yourself to fly. While flying there will be fire rings that spawn and 3 fire balls, go through the ring for a haste buff and refresh the duration of your flying buff. Continue till you kill the boss.
Shannox - Start off with HotW. Immediately go in to bear form the moment hotw is over, by this time you should be taking a large amount of damage, pop a defensive and continue killing the boss.
Baleroc - HotW start as per usual. It's a pretty basic tank and spank fight, though if he gets Decimation blade, immediately start applying Savage Defense stacks, if it hits you it will do 90% of your max hp to you.
Majordomo Staghelm - HotW start. Spank and tank in the fire for glorious vengeance, use defensives when needed, stand out of fire if it hits you too hard. Cleave down the adds.
Ragnaros - Hotw start. It's pretty simple on normal mode. Nothing to really look out for.

I'm a druid myself never tried Guardian but this guide is so well written so I might give it a go. A lot of the bosses could also possibly solo'd by a lot of other classes (I'm playing Resto/Boomkin) so I could solo quite some as a Boomkin. Thanks a lot for the time you spent on this guide. Should get a lot more views and a well deserved 5 stars rating!

Did they change the requirements for entering a raid dungeon? I thought you had to be in a raid group with at least one other person.
Oh wait, you can if it's from a previous expansion. I just tried and I can get in to Firelands solo.

I found that for the tentacles on Zon'ozz, if you stay out of melee range and spam HotW+ Wrath, you can kill it without getting thrown.

Great guide. With all the self healing and active mitigation Guardian Druid tanks can have a really nice position as a spec for soloing.

Just going to do a quick followup.
I am a druid using Askmrrobot's gear guide. I have 4pc tier from Siege of Orgrimmar, decked in LFR armor. 526 average ilvl.
When fighting bosses, I use the +300 Agility food and +1000agi flask.
WotLK was mainly fine. I can't solo 10m heroic Deathbringer Saurfang, he heals too much. Also can't solo 25man ToTC Heroic, the damage is a little too high. More on the Thorim skip would be appreciated. Mainly how to get that dark iron dwarf to aggro. (I finally realized to use my C'thun tentacle).
I've been trying to solo Cata 10m normals.
The two bosses I have been unable to solo (so far) are Maloriak and Cho'Gall.
Maloriak, I always tend to hit enrage while he is at about 12mil/20mil. I don't know if it's just a gear issue. He heals way too much. I would say it is impossible, but it clearly is, because you've done it.
Cho'Gall I just don't get out enough damage. From what I see on youtube, you can heal yourself with Cenarion Ward even with the 99% healing debuff? Cho'Gall is definitely doable, I have got him to 1%... but how do you do him on heroic? I can only barely do him on Normal.
It's a shame I didn't get down Maloriak before the expac.

I was able to beat the spider boss in the Heroic Firelands as well as get the achievable. I came searching for a guide on how to do the firehawk achievement when I noticed that you said that the spider boss is actually unbeatable solo in heroics at this time.
I got extremely lucky but i'll tell you what I did.
I have the Juggernaut trinket from normal SoO that has armor and leech. My gear iLVL is also 550 exactly.
When I went up for the first time I noticed that there were a ton the webspinner guys when i accidentally fell down. So when I did it the second time, I just killed all of them before I went up. When I got her to 10% and we fell down, I was stunned by 2 at once, then 3 at once. Between the stuns I had like 2 seconds and in that time I used my frenzied regeneration/barkskin the first time then just hit the boss with a lacerate every time. Took me a while because i was relying on the bleed damage to kill her but i ended up just being healed enough by the leech to beat the encounter.
