How to Unlock the Mechagnome Allied Race

機械岡危機: This achievement requires completion of the Mechagon storyline, which should take several hours and a dungeon run to complete. Reference the Comprehensive Mechagon Guide if you need assistance with any quest.

You must then complete a special questline that demonstrates the ingenuity of Gnomes and Mechagnomes working together.

It'd be nice if they added in some metal skin and hair options, so players could have a more OG mechagnome look. Plus it's extraordinarily weird to have hair growing through the metal skull plate options. I get that sometimes character models clip poorly with some armor, but when so many customization options clip each other poorly, something's missing.

In the other direction, there should also be a way to have fewer body mods. Junker gnomes keep talking about how they're not homogeneous, how they have different amounts of mods, and the comic even shows some junker gnomes with their original fleshy arms or legs with no (externally visible) mods. At there very least, there should be a leg option to have fleshy thighs, so that junker gnome PCs don't have to have the diaper look.

And while I'm dreaming big, casters (and maybe hunters too) should be able to swap out their right forearm with a 'spell' cannon, so they could be RPed like tinkers that were using tech that mimicked magic.

I main Horde. I wonder if I'll be able to unlock Mechagnomes with my Horde toon's cred? I did with Argusian Reach and Army of the Light for VElves and LF Draenei respectively; just had to run the intro scenarios on my Alliance toon to unlock them.

While I did it thanks to hiring mercs aka no options but to pay to get into mechagon i rly hope they either drop that req or move it to the finder cause that's basically locking a race behind the mercy of randos.

Is anyone else having trouble with the dungeon. I have tried but cant seem to get past the first boss. I have tried multiple times but either its wipe wipe wipe, blame the hunter or the group just falls apart and people leave. Kinda crap that blizzard has seen fit to lock a race behind a mythic dungeon. I dont remember this happening before. Why now?

For Horde.
If you are exalted with mechagon you still can't do prequest on your 120 ally char. At least at this moment (on PTR). So you still need
1) finish full prequest chain (~1-2h) for mechagon
2) get revered with them.
3) if you finished previous step you will get quest to kill King Mechagon. And you have to kill him in dungeon.

So you definetly save some time (revered => exalted requre around 2 weeks I suppose). So you can take your alliance toon and just do "major daily" (3 rares / 6 chests / "daily activity") which provide around 1k rep with buff. It require 5-10min per day. And you'll get your revered in 2-3 weeks. Ofc you can do it faster if start making other dailys.

p.s. Probably Blizzard nerf this revered requirement. But right now you cannot pass this step.

Actually, I am a little confused. As of right now, I am not sure if I can unlock the Mechagnomes. I have all the required achievements and reputation on my horde character, but my alliance character "only" has the reputation and most of the achievements that I need. I only have to kill King Mechagon in the Dungeon. On the PTR, the achievement is grayed out, if I click on the Mechagnome flag in the emissary, but I can start the quest to unlock Mechagnomes. Can someone tell me if I still need to kill King Mechagon with my Alliance Character or if I'm good to go? I know it was different in the past and it's not very logical that it's different with Vulpera/Mechagnomes, but you never know.

So, Blizzard CHOSE to make unlocking this Allied Race require a Mythic Dungeon? Vulpera doesn't have that or any other Allied Race. Adding a 'Heroic Version' seems a bit tardy in the thought process.....

Do the devs look at their own metrics on how many people actually run Mythics? People screamed about the unlock requirements for the Legion ones, can't wait until next week and players can NOT make a Mechagnome........

I have Exalted and the Mechagonian Threat achievement on my Horde main, and cannot recruit the gnomes on my 120 ally. So i dont know if thats as intended or what, but im not farming the rep back again.

The Mechagon story line must be completed on an Alliance Character to unlock Mechagnomes.

Word of warning! It seems the mob Prince Erazmin that you hand Paragon quests to disappears after you complete the mechagnome Allied Race quest so hand it in before doing.

For those who wonder. Since the quest can now be done in Heroic difficulty, you probably want to know in which "wing" in the King = the Workshop.

sadly they removed the bald customization choice from ptr for female. rip my monk, no full metal head...so few options :/ can't take top metal head custo choice because of hair..........

SOLVED!

You need to complete the questline Kelsey gives you - the one you need to unlock Mechagnomes in the first place, and where you heal Mechatorque. At the end of that questline, the portals into Mechgon City are opened up, both from Stormwind and on Mechagon Island.

Getting back to Mechagon City?

Mechagnomes are great but I'm a bit sad. On the PTR, when you created a Mechagnome, they started in Mechagon City, a little like the Dark Iron Dwarves starting in Shadowforge City. But now, you just get booted into Stormwind.

I'm hoping I'm missing something and I can get back into Mechagon City somehow, is this the case?

IF YOU REACHED EXALTED ON THE HORDE, this is important: There's a lot that needs to be done that isn't clear.

1. you have to have an alliance character go to the alliance embassy (duh).
2. that character has to be level 120.
3. That character has to finish the introduction quest for Mechagon Island (as indicated above, all the way through the prince escorting you around)
4. Finish the quest chain Allies of the Alliance: Mechagnon. Note that blue posts and guides talk about picking it up from Aysa in the Stormwind Embassy... WoWHead (and my experience) was that it was from Kelsey in Boralus--but you have to start with the unlock of the island in the embassy from someone to the left of the door (as you turn to leave) by getting the quest "Fame Waits For Gnome One".

**You do Not** have to get Operation: Mechagon - The Mechoriginator 機械岡行動 - 機械歸源器 You can only get this quest if you are REVERED with Rustbolt on this character if you have it on your Horde character. It will appear that you have completed the achievement, even though that portion of the achievement will be greyed out.

Why this matters: to get that quest, you have to be REVERED with Rustbolt. I thought I had to go through the grind again...but finished the Allies of the Alliance questline without it and was granted access to the race.

Since none of this was spelled out and I had to go digging, I thought I'd save others the pain of grinding an alt to 120, only to find out that you need to get revered as well. And for good measure, re-stating the link to the Attunement Tracker.

I boosted a mechagnome and I noticed that I was already honored with mechagone when I arrived on the island and did the first quests.

I'm having trouble finishing this questline. The last quest I have to do is "Propogate the news" which I seemed to have missed taking from Kelsey Steelspark in Mechagon City. I can't find her anywhere else besides inside the ship is Boralus, which she doesn't have the quest. Has anybody else found this issue and found a solution?

So i think there is still an issue here with unlocking Mechagnomes on a Horde character. The blue post from Blizzard a couple months ago (referenced in this guide) says that the two achievement criteria, "The Mechagonian Threat" & "Rustbolt Resistance" can be obtained on any character - and yet Wowhead's BfA Attunement Tracker (linked in this guide) is showing "Rustbolt Resistance" as incomplete on my Alliance character (which it is), but i am exalted with Rustbolt on the Horde character i main - so i should by the description in the blue post be able to create a Mechagnome now, yet i can't.

Heads up.
If you head to SW to pick up the quest to unlock the Mechagnomes and find that Aysa has nothing to offer: you might already have the quest.

blizzard creates confusion by making the 緊急照護 quest available at both Mechagon Island and the SW embassy.
Since you're most likely to unlock the quest by reaching exalted while questing on the island, it's a natural place to pick up the quest.
(I picked up the quest just before logging off for the night. And because the quest took me back to Boralus, I figured I'd leave it for another time.)

A few days later when I wanted to create a Mechagnome, confusion ensued:

The attunement tracker indicated all requirements were met.
The login screen advised that I needed to pickup a quest in SW.
No quest was on offer in SW.

So if you're stuck, you might already have 緊急照護; and simply needed to continue the quest chain from Boralus.

I haven’t gotten around to unlocking the mechagnomes before leveling all of my characters in Shadowlands, and now that I see the dungeon 機械岡行動 - 機械歸源器 is a requirement, it’s not available in Dungeon Finder. I’m fairly certain I can’t solo it even at level 60. Any suggestions how to complete that dungeon so I can unlock this race?

Hi! If you're looking for a guide/help with getting Mechagnomes while you-
+Did the 機械岡危機 with a Horde 50-60 lvl
+Wants to add this on your alliance main/alt with at least lvl 50
+CANT FIND THE QUEST CHAIN

Main things - Nazjatar WQ unlock, 機械岡危機, Mechagon storyline 12 Quests (Happens in Boralus, Proudmoore keep, and Mechagon)
! Even tho I had the achiev 機械岡危機 done at my horde char, I still needed to complete it on my alliance character to get the Mgnomies !

So after I got the 機械岡危機 with my level 50 blood elf rogue, I logged on to my alliance 60 lvl char. I couldn't found this quest (supposed to be the recruiting quest) -> 追求地精名聲更待何時 So I went straight to Boralus, where I used the portal room straight to Nazjatar. Other guides say you will get a quest from -劍客伊野斬 quest about killing 15 nagas. Well, this is the last thing to unlock your WQ at Nazjatar. You need to unlock world quests from Nazjatar to get the gnome NPC with the quest for mechagnomes to spawn.

So when you at Nazjatar, you take the first quests from - 先知歐里- do all of his quests (3-5 quests in total) After that 劍客伊野斬 will finally give you the quest about killing 15 nagas. After this quest, you will get World Quests for Nazjatar unlocked. And then, at the cliff where Inowari stays, you will get the Gnome 吉菈‧交線- spawned on a mechanostrider mount right in front of you, with the quest for the quest chain of recruiting Mechagnomies. Then it will lead you back to Boralus, to flight master, after few minutes of a short quest chain happening in Boralus (recruiting allies to fly to Mechagon with you), you will move to the vault, then to Mechagon. There you will do a short questline that ends with the Mechagon Prince Erazim touring you the city and then he will send you off to Boralus again with a quest 緊急照護 then you will be sent to Proudmoore keep with 衰竭的能量 continues with 尋找幫手 and then after arriving in Mechagon again 華倫‧機鹿 gives 初步的計畫 continues with 駛向安全之處 then 克利斯蒂‧壓輪 gives 更好…更強…更少傷亡 after this 伊拉敏王子 gives 是他？ then 克利斯蒂‧壓輪 gives 心理調整 next is 堅強的心 then High Tinker 傑爾賓‧梅卡托克 gives you 晉升 after that you will have 機械岡的未來, after that you have FINALLY the last quest giving you the mount of mgnomies -> 凱爾希‧鋼火發佈消息 after this the recruiting quest in SW will be done in SW embassy. If you're here after the release of patch 9.1.5 and are wondering why your achievement completion tooltip still says you need Operation Mechagon - The Mechoriginator to complete The Mechagonian Threat -- even though Blizzard's patch notes say that the dungeon requirement for Allied Races like this one have been removed -- it's because that's only partially true.

You don't HAVE to actually complete the dungeon, but you DO have to go to Mechagon and talk to Prince Erazmin and grab this dungeon quest. After you grab the quest, talk to the NPC again, and you should see an available skip dialog to complete the quest without doing the dungeon. You can then proceed with the questline to unlock the Mechagnome race.

After turning Nazjatar quest for killing 15 mobs and getting Naz world quests unlocked, a gnome npc appeared right next to me after turning in with the bread crumb to The Legend of Mechagon

To unlock Mechagnomes, you need to unlock the quest Urgent Care.
To unlock Urgent Care, you must unlock Mechagon.
To unlock Mechagon, you must unlock World Quests in Nazjatar.
To unlock World Quests in Nazjatar, you must complete part of the Nazjatar campaign, including a detour to Silithus from Brann.
To complete part of the Nazjatar campaign, you must unlock Nazjatar.
To unlock Nazjatar, you need to Obtain the Heart of Azeroth.

I decided to do this quest on my level 64 warrior. He's above max level for BFA, he should manage ok I thought. He powered through all the quests on Mechagon Island and had little trouble in defeating the mobs and collecting what he needed. I got to Mechagon city and he turns into a dismal failure. He can't kill the big robot, it constantly silences him, refreshing the silence before the previous one runs out and taking down his health while remaining unaffected. He's died several times already and of course the mob regains all its health. The friendly npcs seem useless. If he wasn't an engineer he would be unarmoured by now. I don't know what else I can do to keep him alive.
