Can someone give me a lore reason why it makes sense for Dark Iron Dwarves (and Zandalari Trolls, for that matter) not to be Death Knights? I'm pretty sure the Lich King and his val'kyr didn't discriminate between DI and regular dwarf when he was raising his undead armies.

I'd bet they're not giving allied races the ability to be DKs because of heritage armor, but race changes don't let you get heritage armor. Why not just bar DKs from being able to unlock it? Maybe gate DKs behind the same achievement as the heritage armor?

This Unlock Requirements dont make any sense, considering that in Zuldazar is a Outpost established by Dark Iron. They will not be there because it's fun. They are there because the Alliance commanded it. So why should we recruit them if they are already part of the Alliance.

their class combos almost seal the deal with zandalari getting their paladins since these guys can be everything but the hero classes and a druid.

Once earned, the heritage armor can be used by any Dark Iron alts, including low level, boosted and race changed ones.

Working towards unlocking Dark Iron Dwarves Allied Race will be my top priority at level 120. Screw Everything Else!

I just hope it isn't time gated or anything too special, just meet the requirements, do scenario, unlock race.

Kul Tirans better have shaman. If the argument is that dark iron dwarves can be shamans; classic dwarves can already be shamans, so why would I make a dark iron dwarf shaman if I don't like playing a dwarf? I know they haven't released it yet; but I'll be pretty disappointed and sad if KT can't be shaman. Give a paladin option to Orcs or Undead if you have to make it fair.

Are Dark Irons actually available with just the rep and completing the War Campaign? There is the quest to unlock them - is it even available? Or is Blizz gonna hold out on us? We've all paid our money for BfA and still don't have an answer. That isn't really right.

So for those of us who main Horde... do we have to do all this on an Alliance character to unlock Alliance Allied Races or is there an alternative or something for us? Wasn't Draenei and VE, unlockable on the other faction? I don't play Alliance but want to for DiD and Kul'Tirans but I don't have an alliance to play as to unlock these, and having to do that is going to suck and just cause me to say nvm to unlocking these which then is a major bummer since they are a big "feature" of the new expansion.

it seems (at least for me) that the intro quest ist bugged right now. its not showing up after reaching both requirements.

edit: a GM just told me that this is a known bug and under investigation right now. we have to wait.

Exalted with 7th Legion is a Alliance only reputation.

Now hold up. What if we've completed the Horde War Campaign and become exalted with the Honorbound faction, the Horde side rep that is required for the Maghar orcs?

Just curious, because I was able to unlock Void Elf and Lightforged Draenei through the rep grind on my Horde toons.

Hello! I couldn't find anything about this quest here, but Aiji the Accursed in Nazmir located here /way Nazmir 52.92 75.96 gives a quest that rewards 275 reputation with the 7th legion.( I'm a human) I hope this helps someone.

For anyone just leveling one for the heritage armor, monk quests are broken past the level 20 set. That means you only get the level 20 daily right now and do not get to double up at 40/50/60/70/80, severely reducing the stack of the buff if you're grinding it out in a small number of long sessions. It makes monk less compelling if you actually need to level another class and you want to power through it in a long weekend.

and for the record you CANNOT use the weps for other races and the armor appearance works for all armors (cloth/leather/mail/plate)

The article seems to need a minor correction.

The achievement is "Heritage of the Dark Iron".

The requirements say "Allied Races: Dark Iron Dwarf" and "Earn level 110 on a newly created Dark Iron dwarf character".

The reward says "Reward: Dark Iron Dwarf Heritage Armor"

To clarify the Heritage Armor unlock, I've just dinged 110 on my Dark Iron Monk. Immediately got the unlock quest (although it's just a 30 second thing) and got my armour. I needed to log out for the armour to show up. ~~However, I can't see the weapons yet, but I might be looking at the wrong things~~. Edit: I now realise the weapons were speculation only. Here's hoping!

So yes, unlocked and available at 110, after levelling up from 20.

Quest will show up on the map after completing the requirements, you need to go to the embassy to find it.

Iron Dwarfs? NO! get back in the hole!

Human with Gnomish Engineering all the way. (think again)

Why?
-If you have 地精工程學 the 鑽地機 racial is only good for Hinterlands or Highmountain.*
-If you are a Mage with 地精工程學 the 鑽地機 racial is only good for Highmountain.
-The time spent (even IRL $ to race change) on leveling an Iron Dwarf won't justify going rarely to those places.
-The human rep bonus are much better for Paragon chest/Emissary WQ and for PVP.
(4500 rep less to reach exalted), (9000rep instead of 10000rep on a Paragon chest), (+200rep Emissary quest x 4WQ)
-The 哥布林滑翔裝置 and 硝基推進器 saves you so much time.

*Iron Dwarf portals VS Eng portals and normal portals.

01) EK- Ironforge (just oustide) = Sw-Boralus.
02) EK- Stormwind (cata island) = Sw (3 guild backs, 巴拉丁鐵衛外袍).
03) EK- The Hinterlands (western keep) = mage portal, flying 5min from twilight. (do you go there often?)
04) EK- Black Rock (outside corridor of BlackRDepths) = Sw (1 min fly)
05) EK- Shadowforge (Racial BlackRDepths)(dead end back to SW)
06) EK- Blasted Lands (northern keep) = Sw tower npc.
07) Kal- Un'Goro Crater = 蟲洞產生器：北裂境+Sholazar portal.
08) Kal- Mount Hyjal (Fireland entrance) = Sw+Hijal (do you go there often?)
09) Kal- N Barrens (northern keep) = 安全傳送器:加基森 nearer Onixia's Lair. (pet battling Wailing Cavern really?)
10) Out- Shadowmoon Valley (central mountain) = 永恆變換之鏡 closer to 血騎士安塔利 for pet battles.
11) Out- Blade's Edge Mountains (northern bridge)= 安全傳送器:托斯利基地 +20 sec to get to "The Eye"
12) Nor- Icecrown (Argent Tournament) = 蟲洞產生器：北裂境 Icecrown.
13) Nor- Dragonblight (west of the Wyrmrest tower) = Sw-Dalaran.
14) Pan- Kun-Lai (SHA) = 蟲洞產生器：潘達利亞 (try your luck (15m cd) or relog an alt then retry)
15) Pan- Valley4Winds (Stormstout Brewery instance) = Sw-Pawdon village.
16) Dra- Gorgrond (South of "THE PIT") = 蟲洞離心裝置
17) Dra- Nagrand (Elemental Plateau (middle north)) = 蟲洞離心裝置
18) Brk- Highmountain- (SouthWest grotto entrance) = SW-Azuna- fly 2.45 min
19) Brk- The Broken Shore- (East shore pet battle pet) = Legion Dalaran.

Camping an instance ? do it before the reset= less travel time.

I feel like nobody has laid this out quite the way I was looking for when I came here to try to figure it out, so just to lay it out plain and simple:

There are technically THREE requirements to unlock Dark Iron Dwarves.

1. Reach Exalted reputation with the 7th Legion.
2. Complete the 蓄勢待發 achievement.
3. Complete the Blackrock Depths QUEST 黑石深淵 - NOT the dungeon.

The last part is where I got confused and so did others. To pick up this quest, go to Stormwind City. Moira is located in the Stormwind Embassy building with the other Allied Race emissaries. It is right at the northernmost point of SW, a bit to the left of the banner if you're looking at the map. For TomTom users, the coordinates are 52, 13.8. You'll pick it up from Moira Thaurissan there. Then you can do the quest line to unlock Dark Iron Dwarves!

What's missing from this guide is the series of scenarios to actually unlock the Dark Iron Dwarf race. I've compiled the list of quests and scenarios below. Note that these quests start and end with 茉艾拉‧索瑞森 in the Stormwind embassy in Stormwind City. This is the place where the allied races emissaries/ambassadors are located.

The Scenario path is as follows:

Obtain the quest 黑石深淵 from 茉艾拉‧索瑞森 in the embassy in Stormwind City to go to BRD and complete a scenario around the black anvil. Portals will be provided to and from BRD. Note that this is BRD the scenario, do NOT go to the dungeon directly.
Then pick up quest 晶喜鎮！：鐵敵之錘 from Moira which requires defeating the end boss in The Motherlode! , which you can queue for using the Group Finder. It can be completed on Normal or Heroic (NOT Mythic at the time of this writing).
You'll receive quest 熔火之心 which takes you to Molten Core to pick up a fragment of the core. Again, you will get ported to MC from the embassy, and will be given an option to return.
After MC you'll receive a quest 火源之界 to go to Firelands and defeat a boss there. Portals provided there and back.
Moira will then give you quest 在火與焰中鑄造 to go back to BRD to repair the anvil.
Finally, you'll receive quest 黑鐵矮人 before leaving BRD and then will get a portal back to the embassy to speak to 安杜因‧烏瑞恩 who will be located in the embassy upon your arrival. Speaking to him will unlock the allied race and reward you with 黑鐵熔核犬.

Worst. Quest. Chain. Ever! Hardest of all the allied races to get. I can't wait for Shadowlands but this quest chain is hell. You WILL be forced into the Motherlode dungeon. Screw these idiot Dwarves! They resisted the Alliance this long, we don't need em!

Note: This instanced version of Shadowforge City grants you access to the Black Anvil (obviously), as well as a friendly mob version of the Grim Guzzler (including the ability to set your hearthstone to innkeeper 普拉格‧史帕齊林), as well as the Black Forge, using the path shown this video, starting at the 1:45 mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2Eg0GIIgiA&t=105. (You still need the appropriate recipes to smelt dark iron and craft materials using dark iron to use these instanced versions of the forge and anvil.)

So I’ve got the Ready for War achievement and when I visit the Embassy is shows Green ticks for both requirements for a Dark iron Dwarf but I still can’t select a Dark Iron Dwarf at the character creation screen for some reason, any ideas re what I need to do?

When I visit Moria in Stormwind Embassy she hasn't got the "Blackrock Depths" quest to give me, only the Allied Races one with each of the new classes on it.

I have the Kul Tiran race open but not mechagnome if that helps?

You no longer need the "Ready For War" achievement - in fact, you no longer have to have completed anything on the Alliance side to unlock Dark Iron Dwarves; i haven't completed a single full questline in BfA on an Alliance character, & the intro quest to go talk to Moira was in my quest log when i logged in last weekend; i'm Horde, so have done everything on that side; i guess that must count now...
