The criteria says 'produce' so you cannot get this achievement by buying it off the auction house and eating/drinking it.

You have to be the one that creates it.

Note that it says "During the Feast of Winter Veil ". You can do this achievement only during the event.

Maybe think things through next time? There is a reason the Bloodsail achievment is a Feat of Strength and not a normal achievement. I did the grind long before the achievment system was introduced and it cost me a whopping 200g to gain all my reputation back with the Cartel.

If you aren't prepared to put in effort, you don't deserve the achievements, title or the proto drake. Not every achievment should be handed to you on a silver plate.

If your struggling to level up your cooking to 325, it helps to do fishing at the same time and simply just cook the fish you are catching. Granted, you will have to buy recipes from vendors. I suggest not buying recipes from the Auction House during the Feast of Winter Veil, because the recipes are extremely over priced, and you can buy those same recipes from vendors for a fourth of what you would be paying in the Auction House.
By getting your fishing skill up and catching your own fish, it saves a lot of the money you would probably be spending on mats from the Auction House because you were too lazy to farm. (I know it's true =P)
But by leveling up fishing along side the cooking, you'll be knocking out two birds with one stone for future achievements. :)

To all those mentioning Steamwheedle Rep and getting past 225 cooking, the quest is no longer needed, not sure when they changed it possibly with the 3.1 patch but now all secondary professions can now be trained past 225 from their respective trainers for a small gold fee.

You can now make it to 325 Cooking skill by Trainers (no more Gadgetzan reputation requirements).

Conveniently you can get to level 325 cooking from the previous world event pilgrim's bounty without having to farm ingredients or buy them from the AH.

So you need to get to 325 Cooking to make yourself some Hot Apple Cider?

Thanks to how the new Draenor Cooking works, you can now easily get to 600 using either one of the default recipes. These require Crescent Saberfish Flesh as their only ingredient so purchase 325 or 600 of these from the Auction House and you're good to go. (Buying only 325 if you only care about getting to 325 Cooking, and 600 if you're thinking you might as well get to 600 while you're at it)

Note: Crescent Saberfish Flesh is usually sold at a reasonably low price (Sometimes costing as low as 30g per stack of 200) but prices will vary of course depending on the server and demand.

I'm having trouble with this in Shadowlands. I've lvld to 295 cooking and everything is gray. Nothing left for me from the trainers, and if I go to the next expansion it starts me at 1 again and doesn't count toward the 300 skill level you need to learn the cider recipe. I've checked the AH, and the only 275 recipe which will likely get me skill points requires an extremely rare fish, 0 on AH.

Anyone have insight into how to get the last 5 points now?

As I do with World Events... I've made an AddOn, which I uploaded to Curse, and it gives a ton of information about completing this World Event.

If you do care to download then I hope that you found it useful. Players unfamiliar with the layout of opposing capital cities will especially like my BB King information.

Okay this was somewhat of a challenge, but I expected it to be much worse lol… and I was at 0 classic level of cooking! Never bothered with cooking before!
A few things I did (be warned I may have used more gold than what I probably needed to, but was the quickest route)
Make sure you have a Wildercloth Chef’s Hat cooking tool item AND the Chef’s Smooth Rolling Pin item! These give you more skill points and craft speed!
Then I started with the few basic recipes from the cooking page (make sure to select classic from the little “Filter” drop down menu on the top left corner), and bought all ingredients from AH.

Then I came across this website: https://www.wow-professions.com/wotlk/cooking-leveling-guide-wotlk-classic which is a really useful guide! A lot of the classic cooking info is either outdated or the NPC’s are no longer in game (retail) to get the recipes so be mindful of that! A lot of recipes mentioned in the website I got from NPC Kendor Kabonka in The Pig and Whistle Tavern (upstairs) in Old Town Stormwind depending on my current level of cooking.

One recipe that used to be sold from Gikkix the Goblin NPC in Tanaris (who is no longer in game/deceased) can NOW be found with Thomas NPC in the Lion’s Inn - Goldshire (not sure about horde but I assume it’s mirrored like could it be sold in Razor Hill? - alternatively) Once I reached a certain cooking skill level the rest of those missing recipes then became available from Thomas!

I did a speedy run in Dire Maul to get the recipe Runn Tum Tuber Surprise - that drops from NPC Pusillin (the little demon that runs about the place) has a 75% drop rate, dropped for me on the first go.

The regents I needed to buy for all the recipes I bought in bulk quantities of around 70-80 before I started cooking, I wanted to see how many cooking skill points I could bump up before my next recipe. Probably not ideal but worked well lol! Otherwise you can farm all the regents that certain mobs drop which is mentioned on the website, but may take a little longer. The cooking page is also well signed posted, colour coding with little arrows on the left side what will give you more skill points. Hope some of this helps, GL!

Here was the cooking leveling route I did. Only follow the suggestions here if the prices are reasonable on your realm, otherwise use different recipes from here (https://www.wow-professions.com/classic/cooking-leveling-guide-classic-wow). The information is for classic so you might need to look up the recipes here on wowhead to find where they're sold now.

Train cooking at SW 77.30, 53.21

Open cooking menu and filter top right, select classic cooking

Buy 55 stringy wolf meat from AH and cook Charred Wolf Meat 55x for 1 - 50

Buy Recipe: Longjaw Mud Snapper at Ironforge 47.95, 6.55

Buy 55 Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper on AH and cook them 50 - 100

Buy Recipe: Bristle Whisker Catfish at SW 55, 69.67

Buy 30x Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish on AH and cook for 100 - 130

Buy Recipe: Curiously Tasty Omelet at SW 76.60, 52.91

Buy 50x Raptor Egg on AH and cook for 131-175

Fly to Northern Stranglethorn

Buy Recipe: Roast Raptor at Northern Stranglethorn 47.46, 10.22

Buy 50x Raptor Flesh on AH and cook 175 - 225

Fly to The Hinterlands

Buy Recipe: Tender Wolf Steak at Hinterlands 14.37, 42.35

But 75x Tender Wolf Meat from AH and cook 225 - 275

Train Nightfin Soup at SW, 77.29, 53.25

Buy 35x Raw Nightfin Snapper and 35x Refreshing Spring Water on AH and cook to 300

If you don't ding 300 you can either buy more of the items above and cook more (RNG) or

Fly to Silithus (old phase)

Accept ! Desert Recipe from Calandrath at 55.51, 36.73 and do the quest and accept ! Sharing the Knowledge

Turn in quest - don't continue the chain, turning the quest in teaches you to cook Smoked Desert Dumplings

Buy 15x Sandworm Meat on AH

Cook to 300 skill.

Hello all,

Dont know why everyone is posting these dead long and confusing guides for this.

Choose any classic recipe and buy 50 off the ingredients for that recipe and then craft them buy the next highest level recipe from the AH buy 50 ingredients and then craft. Rinse and repeat. Cost less than 5k gold easily, stayed in Orgrimmar the whole time.

You can buy the Wildercloth Chef's hat and Chefs smooth rolling pin to speed things up.
