With the new 2.3 patch, the Water Shield spell works pretty much like a Mana Spring Totem. Say you are in a boss fight and you use Water Shield every minute, when the minute is up, you'll restore 600 mana (considering you don't pull aggro). Divide by 60 to get the Mana per Second, which comes out to 10 mana per second. This is exactly the same amount as the Mana Spring Totem, which at level 70 gives you 20 mana per 2 seconds. So your gaining 1200 mana every minute if you have the Mana Spring Totem and Water Shield running. Throw in a Blessing of Wisdom, and that'll come out to 1692 Mana per Minute. Quite good if you ask me. (The amounts given from the Mana Spring Totem and Blessing of Wisdom do not take into account the talents to improve each of these spells. If both the Improved Blessing of Wisdom and the Restorative Totems talents were used, the total Mana per Minute would come out to 1908, or an extra 216 Mana per Minute.)

It was always hard to visualize what value the mana spring totem adds to a group, so I'll give you the figures in MP/5 (aka. rates that most other classes are used to):

Untalented: 50 MP/5 per nearby party member
Talented w/ Resto talents: 62.5 MP/5 per nearby party member
