There's very few fights in the game right now that would make any use of spell pentration. For a raiding mage spell hit, spell damage, spell crit and spell haste are all more useful. And even the aforementioned fights (ie: Supremus) are early in the T6 progression so if you have these shoulders chances are your guild has them on farm. So it really makes me wonder why Blizzard decided to put penetration on this of all pieces. Seems like a waste of item budget.

This item makes me want to cry as a mage.

It's t6 god damn it. My guild is currently in BT & MH so I'm close the t6 parts myself .... but why on earth did they make mage tiers so crappy? I'm not saying that every piece is bad, the chest for example is really nice, so are the gloves.... but the shoulders? Penetration you say? When I look at the warlock tier6 I have no clue why blizzard decided to put penetration on ours but hit on their shoulders...please explain if you can.

I'm sick of having crappy tiers all the way to t6 and then getting some items which are still 'crap' ( shoulders have penetration, pants are not as good as Kaz'rogal's pants, headpiece is not as good as Illidan's headpiece .... etc ).

Have there been any posts about this ( complaints ) on the wow mage forums? If so, did blizzard respond? Because I really want to know why blizzard is doing these things tbh. I'm only going to take these t6 items for the 4piece set bonus, which is really nice (yay, blizzard made something good for mages!) but statswise you can find a lot of better items :).

Just got these last night to complete my 4pc bonus. It is FANTASTIC! Fireballs critting for 6k, etc against Illidan! I replaced my nimble thought shoulders for these.
