The turn in piece for this drops from Malchezaar in Karazhan. It is called Helm of the Fallen Hero and is for hunters, mages and warlocks. The turn in is in Shat.

The Voidheart Crown is obtained by doing a trade-in. You need to get the Helm of the Fallen Hero. This is from Prince Malchezaar in Karazhan. The helm is for Warlocks, Mages and Hunters, so expect to have to roll for it against the others in your raid. Once you get the helm, for Horde, take it to the library of your respective faction in Shattrath City, (I'm scryer, so I go there) and trade in the helm for your Voidheart Crown.

Voila! Easy as pie! At least that's how Horde does it. All of the Voidheart rainment is done basically the same. Just get the Fallen Hero stuff from various bosses.

Hey guys.
As an affliction lock, would you recommend this
over say the spellstrike set.
I have the shadoweave set and hood/pants of oblivion.
Was wondering if i should wait to get some parts
from Kara, or craft the spellstrike set.
Spellstrike seems to have more dps, but less stats.
Or perhaps get both.
So i can use the spellstrike in cases where you need
massive dps in short period of time, and the voidheart,
when you need steady dps.
What do you guys think.

The Spelltrike craft set has more dps, the Battlecast craft set has both more stats and dps. If you make the effort to make those sets, there is no use for Voidheart head and pants pieces, even the set bonuses won't make up for it. Only the looks!

Love the look, guild is in TK but im still in kara, i want that, my merciless glad shoulders wouldn't match, but it's got some nice &*!@ on it.

This is a great item, doesn't have as much +dmg, crit, or hit as Spellstrike hood, but it has a good deal more stam and int.

I use this over spellstrike hood simply because it's the only way I can get the 2 piece bonus.

Hey,

Im a destructo lock planning to raid and do arena...

i was told dest can b fine for wat i wanna do, so im having problems deciding what to go with for my gear.. i like this set seems good but no idea over all wat to do i am a shadoweave tailor and i may respec bak to afflication one day but i highly doubt it...

id love some advice pls xD ty in advance

If u are bored trying to get keyed get a arena team arena hardcore then go to area 52 buy some of the crown whatever........Gladiator gear aint just a snap. Try to get ur rsting up

Finally...

a two piece bonus for locks that doesn't suck.

The gloves drop from Curator - Kara (10 man)
The helm from Prince - Kara (10 man)
The shoulders from High King - Gruul's Lair (25 man)
The legs from Gruul - Gruul's Lair (25 man)
The chest from Magtheradon - Mag's Lair (25 man)

To really get the full impact of the set bonus on your damage, concentrate mostly on the two piece bonus. As it reads, it gives a self aura when a shadow or fire spell lands to increase dmg in that school. The set bonus lists Set (2) twice. I was unseure what this meant exactly, but it should really read as two seperate Set (2) bonuses.

I say this because the proc to fire damage and/or shadow damage can proc at the same time. It is not limited to one school or the other only being active at one time. When the fire damage proc occurs, it does not ALSO pop the shadow one. It procs occur rather frequently, but I will have to compile some numbers and repost.

Combine such items with Shiffar's Nexus Horn, the robes from Nightbane, and other proc dmg on hit/crit and you have some serious ramping damage.

I leveled all the way to 70 with a mostly destro build. I think I had 54 points in it when I finally respecced. Let me tell you, first time I ran kara I was 4th dps, just behind a hunter with 2 mages way out in front. When I repsecced to a blend of affliction and destruction, with minimal gear improvements, suddenly I'm top dmg (I would be second if our leet mage hadn't left). Full (or mostly full) destro locks can't do as much dmg in raids because their DoT's are not as powerful. Empowered corruption, improved curse of agony, siphon life, these add soooooo much dps. My shadowbolts hardly miss the shadow and flame talent, and I have SM AND Emberstorm. So, see how it goes in your raids, but if you have that sneaking suspicion that you could be doing more dmg, try putting a few more points in affliction (SM ftw).

As much as I like the way this looks, I'm going to have to put it in the bank till I get another piece. I was wearing a Spellstrike Hood, and would lose 33 damage (including gems), 16 hit rating and 5 crit. I made the mistake of overgearing myself with PVP and crafted items so that there are really only 2 "true" upgrades for me in Kara.

I see other non-caster classes replacing their PVP or crafted epics with Kara loot. Makes me think there is a scaling problem or some other problem with caster gear. I looked at a couple of the warlocks from the only horde guild on my server that does Black Temple. They really don't have much more damage than I have right now, and I've never stepped foot in a 25 man raid yet. They just have a lot more stamina, which really I could care less about.

I don't know much about Meta gems. I was looking a bit last night, but didn't see any that had "spell damage". Is there one out there that has that?

I've been dest since my first talent point and would NEVER go back. Dest locks are amazing when u know how to play them. My spec is 20/0/41... shadowfury is way too much fun not to have and very helpful. Keep in mind that any smart dest lock will have a point in the ruin talent that requires u to crit... so +crit is VERY important (basically evens hit and crit out). I think my hit is only at 95 and my crit is going around 27% and I constantly top damage in raids, 5-mans, and BG. When I stop topping damage then maybe I'll consider wasting some sockets on hit. :)
