This mace is one of the first upgrades priests have once they grow tired of Benediction. The mana/5 goes along well with an offhand such as Lei of the Lifegiver from Alterac Valley. The only problem is grinding to exalted with Cenarion Circle, which is quite an effort. Good luck if you go for it though.

Above post is correct, getting exhalted is a long process, not to bad if you do AQ40 and Aq20 but this even with a great offhand still doesnt top Benediction in my opinion, it lacks the intellect stats in my opinion.

The only reason i could see for going for it is if your not in a guild that does Molten Core for benediction and have a lot of free time on your hands.

I was working very hard on my Cenarion Circle reputation to achieve this mace. I already have my Benediction but I thought that the four mana per five seconds and the ability to use an offhand such as Lei of the Lifegiver from the Alterac Valley PVP rewards, or be able to use Skull of Burning Shadows for the fire and shadow resist in certain situations would be worth it.

However, since patch 2.0.1 and the introduction of Grand Marshal / High Warlord weapons that are easily attainable, there is a hammer that far outweighs this one, especially when you compare the amount of work that is needed for the two.

The Grand Marshal's Warhammer / High Warlords Warhammer has +14 Stamina / +8 Intellect / +134 Healing / +6 Mana per Five which I would consider a very large improvement over this one.

Becoming exalted with Cenarion Circle is much harder than getting 22500 reputation as it stands right now. The only thing that this mace has the the other one does not is the set bonus, which is honestly quite useless for the main intent of this hammer which is healing.

I wish I hadn't put in so much time, effort and money into trying to get exalted with CC to get this mace when there is an even better one that is far easier to attain.

Sadly,it will be nigh impossible for people to get this with less effort than they can get a TBC upgrade that far surpasses them,but if you don't have TBC,it'll still be tough since most people have left the old world,and there is little chance for the big contributions to your Cenarion Circle rep(like AQ and such).

I agree that this overall is probably a winner over Bene because of the mana regen and extra healing. If you have a decent offhand like Sartura's it is definitely worth it switching to this combo. It is a good mace to have until you can get the one off Widow or C'Thun. Another point being if you are a healbot in pvp Benediction is like a bullseye screaming "kill me first, I am a healer." This mace looks awesome but more subtle. If you are exalted with CC go to AQ20 and get the hilt, this mace is worth it.

suprised nobody commented...anyway i think it offers a few things for a priest:

1) being unique...not many 1h opportunities pre-naxx/C'thun, so this + sartura's offhand (as we see in the screenshot) are an excellent combo, and offer my #2 point

2) something different than what benediction offers.

benediction gives you high int, decent amount of spirit and some stamina. the gavel/Sartura offhand offer you mana regen and heal power.

so instead of the crit and spirit you gain mana regen and keep the heal power. it's a decent tradeoff considering much of the fights in naxx are constant casting fights where your mp5 will be more important than spirit.

nowadays spirit is loved for its bonus to heal power over the 5 second rule, because the fights in the new high end instances are fast paced and you don't always have 5 seconds to regen...priests want their mp5 instead.

i mean i'm not dissing spirit priests or anything, or benediction, just commenting on how i see the gavel as a weapon that is worthy of being used in place of benediction.

not an upgrade but definately on par. and if you wanna look different and turn heads i think you should think about getting one of these...cuz i know it gets boring to see EVERY priest with benediction the past few months.

yes.

its more healing, much less intellect, overall much higher regen and a loss of some spirit and crit chance.
healing and regen is really all that matters honestly.

Just got this today. I got a +healing enchant on the mace and got a +intellect enchant on my benediction. I now have over 8700 mana buffed. When I drop to below about 85% mana I will switch to the gavel and either Lei of the Lifegiver or Earthcalm orb depending on how much mana regen I need for the fight.

Lame, you have to be exalted with cenarion to turn in the quest for it. By that time, you've probably have 10 rolls on the cthun hammer and the Imperial Qiraji Regalia staff
