some may think this is better than the Bloodfang, and it could be true. the 2% crit is a major + and bloodfang head only has 1%, meanwhile this helmet has more agility than bloodfang, but bloodfang has more stamina. its a double edged sword, you lose agi/crit for more life? its the personal preference of the player. however, i would choose the Bloodfang.

NS cover crit wise is pretty nice for a helm. I personally would take it over BF, I think imo BF is better if your a hemo spec or swords. They don't need so much crit but more survivability and attack power. So IMO NS is better but it leans towards daggers over anything.

I would much rather Bloodfang than this, Pre-Xpack, Bloodfang was one of the best rogue helmets in the game.

We have killed Garr at least 15 times and have not recieved one NS helm, its usually OEB and some other class's helm. Brutality blade dropped on our 3rd or 4th kill and on our 12th kill, funny enough both times Gutgore Ripper also dropped. I got the first BB :D I was saving up for NS helm but since I'm 2 pts away from the cap (ya I've been waiting that long) it seems that I will have to spend :P

I bought this 1500g, yea i was bored and tired of the second sight helm look, and don't do raiding much... i wouldnt get tier 5 anytime soon anyway.

So here are the differences i notice
Without posting all my gears...

With Stealther second sight helm
+34 atk power, 16 hitrating glyph
+8 agi gem
+12 stam gem
+4 crit +6 stam gem

I end up with:
7784 HP
320-381 dmg
1492 attk power
125 hit rating
19.59 crit (crit rate 52, +2.36)
2727 Armor (20.53% dmg reduced)
(base toon stat unbuffed)

With Nightwatch on
+34 atk power, 16 hitrating glyph
I end up with:
7674 hp
321-383 dmg
1505 atk power
112 hit rating
19.73 crit (crit rate 48, +2.17)
2776 Armor (20.82% dmg reduced)
(base toon stat unbuffed)

With nightwatch i lose 110 HP and 13 hit rating.
and i gain 1-2 dmg, 13 atk power, +.14 crit (but Crit Rating went down to 48 (was 52 with SEcond sight).
I also gain stealth detect which i dont have since my rogue is a mutilate spec.

And i also gain a rare looking helm. Not many people wear this and the whole sever wear the SecondSight. So my rogue kinda look unique now.
Ppl often inspect me and ask where i found this helm.

And because the MainHand has the The Night Blade equiped, this helm fits perfectly.

This is a PVP helm, not recommended for raiding (if you happen to raid, which casual gamers like me rarely do)

btw: i do not have an epic flying mount. I dont find them that useful...not worth the 6000g...and i expect epic flying mount to drop in price within a couple of years

can't tell this has a 10% drop chance.. we've killed im about 20 times now and he ony dropped this hood once.. But I guess garr simply dislikes me. He never dropped my gutgore until I didn't attend one raid, and since he never had any ambitions to drop it again. Maybe I should better look out for Perditions blade instead. Anyway, I'll take anything to replace this crappy Barman Shanker. (I was never more thankful for a rogue nerf than now that they are dropping the instant melee attack calculations to 1.7 on daggers instead of multiplying it with the actual weapon speed.
Gutgore and Perditions will do a bit less damage.. But Felstriker or even that Heartseeker will start to outdamage that barman with his really nasty proc for a backstab ambush rogue)

I was in Molten Core with another guild and we downed Garr and he dropped Quick Strike Ring and Nightslayer Cover. It was on master loot so i rolled 100 on Nightslayer Cover YES and i rolled 99 on Quick Strike ring WOOT but right when i was about to get the items, They kicked me! Im all wtf! Man i coulda had my first two epics on my 60 rogue!

Wewt! just got this to drop and im pretty happy, were a naxx guild and Damnthat was the first drop weve ever seen of it. Got it for no DKP too do to a recent break of guilds and reroll =]. I think im gonna stick with NS for pvp because of bonus and wear my BF for raids due to the greater stat bonuses. Grats to anyone that can get this when it drops tho, as far as i have seen it has the most rare 8% drop in the history of all things

2nd time I downed him with guild. 1st time it dropped, I couldnt get it, cuz I was on "trial" -.-
2nd time: Me and another rogue (he r13 geared) no drop... I got 1k dkp and will do everything for that + shoulders/chest...

This thing dropped the 4th time we killed Garr and I got it. I'm looking so cool now. :D I'll hold this on instead of BF Hood for 120 Energy until I'll get NS Wrists or Belt.

you will need a full raid group ( 40 ) to do MC. You can do it with about 20-25 but you wont be able to take down bosses. The nightslayer belt drops off random mobs in MC. As for the rest of the nightslayer set, it drops off bosses/onyxia

This dropped off of Garr our last raid.. Lvl 500 elite elemental that has 8 lvl 60 elite mini elementals... EXTREMELY difficult to kill if not organized. The mini guards explode causing 2000-3000 damage when they die, causing surrounding players to fly across the room (very fun). On top of that Garr has a large aoe that slows running speed. I suggest having warlocks and very good pulling (VERY GOOD pulling). GL everyone.

Looks like the Nightslayer Belt has dropped (once) in The Molton Core instance. Big, strong, nasty, ugly baddies in there. I predict that when I hit 60 I will not allow my guild to do anything but MC raids for months on end. =P

Since MC was nerfed, its relatively easy. We clear MC out in 2 days, and just prance around with Ragnaros. Has yet to drop for us yet tho. We've gotten every other set helment.

Oh and Nightslayer > Bloodfang for the headpieces. Bloodfang's proc is breakable stun, so its pointless for the most part.

Bloodfang and nightslayer compliment each other though. Set bonuses for both relatively suck. Mixing pieces from both is the best way to go.
